MAVTV is set to launch “In the Machine,” a three-part original docuseries that marks the network’s first dedicated program that focuses on the increasing presence and impact of women in motorsports.

“In the Machine” follows the story of Ashley Freiberg as she balances the roles of Porsche GT3 champion racer, factory driving instructor, part-time real estate agent and newlywed, all while chasing her dreams of a championship with the MDK team. This series sheds light on the challenges and triumphs faced by women in the motorsport industry. “In the Machine” is produced by Impakt Partners, a women’s sports production and marketing company with the mission to tell important stories about women in sports and accelerate positive social change. The show premieres Thursday, Jan. 11 at 8pm ET and PT. Watch the trailer below.

In tandem with the launch of “In the Machine: Ashley Freiberg,” MAVTV also will present episode highlights from the recent Women with Drive III – Driven by Mobil 1 Summit. Partnering with Women in Motorsports North America, these episodes, produced with the support of Gainbridge, will showcase the influential discussions, interviews, and insights from over 450 attendees at the summit. The three 30-minute episodes are set to air on consecutive Thursdays — Jan. 11, Jan. 18 and Jan. 25 at 8:30pm ET/PT.

“MAVTV is committed to bringing to the forefront the stories of incredible women like Ashley Freiberg, who are breaking barriers in motorsports,” said MAVTV President CJ Olivares. “’In the Machine’ and our coverage of the Women with Drive Summit are just the beginning of our journey to tell these extraordinary women’s stories. We look forward to sharing more such content, especially during Women’s History Month in March.”

“In the Machine” embodies MAVTV and Impakt Partners’ commitment to telling diverse and empowering motorsports stories. Along with the Women with Drive Summit highlights, this series cements MAVTV’s role as a leader in sharing these inspiring narratives worldwide. The world’s biggest rally raid is coming to MAVTV for the first time in 2024 under a new deal that gives the network same-day broadcast rights to the Dakar Rally through 2026.

MAVTV will deliver one-hour daily highlight shows from Dakar from Jan. 5 through the finish on Jan. 19, airing at noon ET and PT with an encore at 7pm ET/PT.

The 46th edition of Dakar, the fifth to be based in Saudi Arabia, will be a 7,891km/4903-mile trek on roads, tracks and dunes, including 4,727km/2937 miles of specials.

“We took it upon ourselves to make the fifth edition of Saudi Arabia the toughest one since the race came to the Middle East,” said rally director David Castera when unveiling the details of the marathon event, which will start in AlUla on Jan. 5 and finish in Yanbu, on the shores of the Red Sea. Among new challenges facing the competitors this year is a new paradigm for exploring the Empty Quarter desert: a “48h chrono” held over two days in which the competitors, scattered among eight bivouacs, will be basically left to their own devices.

MAVTV is set to launch more episodes this week to its original documentary series “On the Rise” that delves into the personal journeys of promising young racers across the two-wheel and four-wheel motorsports worlds. Each episode follows a different driver chasing the dream of competing at the highest level.

“The future of motorsports is bright, and we’re proud to be giving fans an exclusive and in-depth look into the lives, raw talent, challenges and triumphs of some of the most promising young racers – whether it’s in NASCAR’s ARCA series to Supercross and everything in between,” said MAVTV President CJ Olivares. “The next episodes are as compelling as ever, touching stock cars, dirt bikes and open-wheel. ‘On the Rise’ further reflects MAVTV’s larger strategic shift toward deeper storytelling and forging a stronger connection between motorsports fans and some of the top athletes and teams outside of just racing on the weekends.”

Following episodes devoted to Gavan Boschele, one of the youngest drivers within Team Chevy’s driver development program, and Jaxon Bell, who is following in the footsteps of his father, former IndyCar driver Townsend Bell, the following episodes will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 16:

William Sawalich, 10pm ET
A first-generation racer from Eden Prairie, Minn., Sawalich has quickly made a name for himself, aiming to become the first person from Minnesota to win NASCAR’s Truck, Xfinity and Cup series. His breakout season in 2022 and continued success across different series and teams showcase his determination and skill. William currently races for Joe Gibbs Racing in the ARCA Menards Series, Tricon Garage in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Setzer Racing and Development in the Late Model Stock division and Wilson Motorsports in the Super Late Model division.

Julien Beaumer, 10:30pm ET
At just 16 years old, Beaumer has been making significant strides in the amateur ranks of motocross racing. His diverse experience across various bike brands and his refreshing no-nonsense style of racing mark him as one of the hottest prospects in Supercross and Motocross, where he currently represents Red Bull KTM in both series.

The first two episodes of “On the Rise” followed 14-year-old multifaceted driver Ben Maier, competing in various racing disciplines from road racing to off-road tracks, and 15-year-old karting driver Dane Idelson, who has begun the journey to open-wheel racing and is training to achieve his dream of becoming Formula 1 world champion.

All six episodes of the series will re-air during a special “On the Rise” marathon airing exclusively on MAVTV on Thanksgiving Day.

Tune in to “On the Rise” exclusively on MAVTV to witness the compelling journeys of these young talents as they carve their paths in the highly competitive world of motorsports.
