The 45 prospects invited to the G League Elite Camp were voted on by team executives. The list of players typically indicates those with the highest odds of being selected or signed as undrafted free agents with teams after the draft on June 27.

The event will feature 5-on-5 games, strength and agility testing, shooting drills, measurements and other related on-court exercises. Prospects will have the opportunity to improve their draft stock in a competitive environment against their peers.

The top players from the G League Elite Camp will be invited to participate in the draft combine on May 12-19. The event has helped several players advance to the combine and eventually make it to the NBA, including Jose Alvarado, Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Terance Mann.

Ole Miss’ Matthew Murrell to withdraw from draft, return for senior year

Murrell averaged 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 assists in 30 games last season with the Rebels.

Ole Miss guard Matthew Murrell on Tuesday told Jonathan Givony of ESPN that he will withdraw from the 2023 NBA draft and return to school for his senior year.

Murrell declared for the draft on April 6 with the option to return to school. He was among the prospects that competed in the G League Elite Camp earlier this month, averaging 6.5 points, two rebounds and 1.5 assists in two scrimmage games.

He recorded the highest max vertical jump at the event (41.5 inches).

The 6-foot-4 Murrell posted averages of 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 assists on 36.5% shooting from the field in 30 games last season. He led the team in scoring, assists and 3s (62), and was second in the SEC in minutes per game (34.4).

With Murrell back, the Rebels retain a key player for new head coach Chris Beard. The team also returned Jaemyn Brakefield and added Moussa Cisse, Brandon Murray and Jamarion Sharp through the transfer portal.

Ole Miss’ Matthew Murrell issues statement on 2023 NBA draft

Murrell led the team in scoring, assists and 3-pointers, and was second in the SEC in minutes per game.

Ole Miss junior Matthew Murrell announced this week that he will declare for the 2023 NBA draft while retaining the right to return to school next season.

Murrell posted averages of 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 assists on 36.5% shooting from the field in 30 games with the Rebels. He led the team in scoring, assists and 3s (62), and was second in the SEC in minutes per game (34.4).

The 6-foot-4 guard emerged as a strong scorer who can also defend at a high level. Though he converted just 30.4% from 3-point range, Murrell has great form and was able to get hot in various games: He tied a home record of eight 3s on Feb. 28 against No. 25 Texas Tech.

Murrell will have the opportunity to go through the pre-draft process and gain feedback from executives and scouts. He could also be among the prospects invited to compete in either the draft combine or G League Elite Camp next month in Chicago, Illinois.

He will have until May 31 to withdraw from the draft and return to school.
