Algunos fans de los Dodgers de Los Ángeles aprendieron esto de forma dura el miércoles.

La semana pasada, en Twitter se vio un video de un fan el campamento de entrenamiento de verano de los Dodgers en Arizona diciéndoles a Cody Bellinger y a  Matt Beaty que se tatuaría sus autógrafos si le firmaban el brazo. Fiel a su palabra, de hecho se tatuó los autógrafos.

Ese fan no pudo disfrutar su tatuaje ni dos semanas antes de que le saliera el tiro por la culata.

El miércoles, los Dodgers anunciaron que estaban designando a Beaty para cambio a fin de tener espacio en la plantilla de 40 jugadores para Hanser Alberto, quien acaba de firmar un contrato por un año. Con Beaty habiendo usado todas sus opciones de ligas menores, este cambio de plantilla lo pone en liberación. Estas son malas noticias para el fan de los Dodgers que ahora tiene el autógrafo de Beaty en el brazo.

That backfired.

I’m not one to tell other people what they should get tattooed on their bodies, but it’s always a safe strategy to avoid preemptive championship tattoos and autographs. The championship tattoos almost never work out, and players frequently change teams. It’s a dangerous game for something so permanent.

Some Los Angeles Dodgers fan learned that the hard way on Wednesday.

Last week, a video hit Twitter showing a fan at Dodgers spring training camp in Arizona telling Cody Bellinger and Matt Beaty that he would get their autographs tattooed if they signed his arm. He stood by his word and actually got those autographs tattooed.

That fan couldn’t even get two weeks out of the tattoo before it backfired.

On Wednesday, the Dodgers announced that they were designating Beaty for assignment in order to make room on the 40-man roster for Hanser Alberto, who just signed a one-year deal. With Beaty already using all his minor-league options, the roster move equates to a straight-up release. That’s all bad news for the Dodgers fan who is stuck with Beaty’s autograph on his arm.

Now, Beaty did have a solid year last season and was easily more productive than Bellinger’s abysmal 2021 season. So, he’ll almost definitely land somewhere else in the big leagues. That fan is just going to have an awkward story to tell when people ask him about his tattoo.

The Dodgers astonishingly hit 2 grand slams through the second inning

That’s a lot of grand slams.

The Los Angeles Dodgers struggled to score runs in their first three games against the Milwaukee Brewers this series, where they’ve managed just seven runs in 29 innings during that span.

But in Sunday’s finale, the Dodgers have already surpassed that run total thanks to not one, but two grand slams, where they jumped out to a 9-0 lead over the Brewers.

Oh, and did I mention that it all happened within the first two innings?

With the Dodgers nursing a one-run lead in the first inning, AJ Pollock connected on a grand slam to give them a five-run cushion. Then Matt Beaty, who had an RBI single earlier in the first inning, hit another grand slam to give Los Angeles a 9-0 lead in the second inning.

And, as you can imagine, the Internet was having its fun with the Dodgers’ offensive resurgence.
