PlayStation Black Friday deals include some of the best PS5 games

The PlayStation Black Friday deals are here, with some of the best PS5 games and PS4 games along for the ride

Sony’s PlayStation Black Friday deals are live now until Nov. 29, 2022, with steep discounts on plenty of the best PS5 games and PS4 games, including some more recent releases such as Gran Turismo and The Last of Us Part 1. If you’re after physical games, fear not. PlayStation Direct, Sony’s PlayStation store, has boxed copies of most of the publisher’s first-party games for the same prices.

Leading the pack is Spider-Man Miles Morales for $19.99 – though this one is also included in the PS Plus Extra collection, so bear that in mind. The Last of Us Part 1, the PS5 remaster that only recently released in September 2022, is on sale for $49.69, and its sequel – which has a free PS5 upgrade – is going for just $9.99.

Horizon Forbidden West will set you back $39.99 on PS5, but if you’re getting the digital version, you can save $10 and just get the PS4 edition. It has a free upgrade to PS5. Stray is currently discounted to $23.99, and Gran Turismo 7 is on sale for $39.89.

If you’re after some third-party games on PS5, you can get Red Dead Redemption 2 for $19.79 and the Destiny 2 Legacy Collection, which includes Forsaken, Beyond Light, and Shadowkeep, for the same price. Survival horror fans who haven’t checked out some of Capcom’s recent hits can grab the Resident Evil Racoon City collection for $14.99, which includes Resident Evil 2 remake and Resident Evil 3 remake, both of which have PS5 enhancements.

The full list is on the PlayStation store and includes a staggering 625 items. Happy hunting!

Sony finally announces Miles Morales PC release date in new trailer

Miles Morales’ PC release date is coming up soon, with exclusive pre-order bonuses for those who opt to buy ahead of time

Months after first revealing a Spider-Man Miles Morales PC port, Sony, at last, announced a release date for the spinoff-sequel in a new PlayStation Blog post. The Miles Morales PC release date is Nov. 18, 2022, on Steam and the Epic Games Store for $49.99, and the port will launch with a number of enhanced features, similar to Insomniac’s Spider-Man port that launched in August 2022.

Spider-Man Miles Morales’ PC version includes customizable ray tracing options that let you adjust quality levels for shadows and other reflections to suit your hardware’s abilities and your preferences. The port fits ultra-wide monitors and even triple-monitor setups, supporting 21:9, 32:9, and 48:9 aspect ratios for gameplay. The development team adjusted the in-game cinematics to make them viewable at up to 32:9 as well.

Players who connect a DualSense controller via USB cord will get the same experience as console players, with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

All this comes alongside the usual set of performance and visual options and support for Nvidia DLSS and, of course, the options to mod the game. While Valve won’t have Steam Deck verified status until the game officially launches, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered was verified at launch, so Miles Morales likely will be as well.

Those who pre-purchase the game on either PC platform before its November release date will get:

  •   Two-suit pack, including the T.R.A.C.K. Suit, and Into the Spider-Verse Suit
  •   Early access to the Gravity Well gadget
  •   Three Skill Points to unlock some abilities from the start of the game

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales PC gets first-ever trailer

The spidey spinoff is looking better than ever on PC, and it’s coming soon.

After several months of teasing, we got our first-ever look at took at the PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

On Friday, Insomniac Games released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PC. Various cutscenes from the game are shown off throughout, along with some minor snippets of gameplay. No hints of how good the port is, but developer Nixxes is behind this one, so it’ll likely be brilliant. At least if the studio’s work on Spider-Man: Remastered‘s excellent PC port is any indication.

Check out the Spider-Man: Miles Morales trailer for yourself below. Sadly, there’s no solid launch information beyond a vague ‘coming soon’ tease, but you can wishlist the game on Steam and the Epic Game Store now.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales originally came out on PS4 and PS5 in November 2020. This spinoff follows Miles Morales’ first interactive journeys as the web-slinger rather than Peter Parker. While it isn’t a full sequel, it’ll undoubtedly tie into Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Next to nothing is known about the highly-anticipated sequel – there hasn’t even been a proper trailer since the September 2021 State of Play showcase

If nothing else, Insomniac and Nixxes should announce the Spider-Man: Miles Morales PC release date pretty soon. Just by the fact that, well, fall is almost here.

Director of ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ says ‘Spider-Verse’ was a big inspiration

Well, yeah, it’s one of the best superhero flicks ever.

Everyone loves Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, including the folks over at Insomniac Games. Brian Horton, creative director on Marvel’s  Spider-Man: Miles Morales, said the Oscar-winning film had a tremendously positive impact on the development team’s work.

During a creative roundtable discussing the character of Miles Morales, Horton explains to Into The Spider-Verse director Peter Ramsey along with screenwriter Phil lord and producer Chris Miller how the movie influenced Insomniac’s work on the PlayStation 5 launch title.

“You guys influenced us tremendously,” Horton said. “When we saw the film, we had already developed a bit of story for what our game would be, but we were heartened and freaked out by how good of a story you guys told with Miles. All the small details that you brought into his character that were cultural touchstones, but also just human moments, really helped us raise our game.”

Check out a video of the entire roundtable for yourself below.

You can tell it’s a heartfelt sentiment from Horton too, and rightfully so. Considering Miles Morales will also be in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll see more Spider-Verse DNA in that game too.
