Chiefs WR Marquise Brown is expecting big things in Andy Reid’s system

#Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown told reporters that he is expecting to do big things in Andy Reid’s system

The Kansas City Chiefs prioritized adding a game-changing wide receiver this offseason, and it appears they have found their guy. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown prefers to be called by his nickname, as he’s proven to thrive in the spotlight in his career.

The Chiefs’ new star wide receiver spoke with the media for the first since signing with Kansas City on Monday. He shared his reasons for choosing the Chiefs over several other offers around the league.

“I feel like I can move around and do different things and stretch the field, and there are guys here,” Brown said. “Guys [like], [Travis] Kelce, the running backs, [Rashee] Rice, [Kadarius] Toney. There are weapons here. I just feel like I can come in [and] my game can complement the guys they have here. And Coach [Andy] Reid, he’s a mastermind, and Patrick Mahomes. I’m excited to work with everyone.”

Brown was effective for a struggling Arizona Cardinals team in his last two seasons. In Arizona, Brown had 118 receptions for 1,283 yards and seven touchdowns. He looks forward to more significant numbers and less double coverage in Kansas City.

“Being in this system, I feel like I’ll be able to showcase my skill set; I still feel like there’s a lot of my game that I really haven’t got to show people,” said Brown. “That’s probably what I’m excited about the most being here; it’s to just put my best foot forward and show what I can do.”

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has always found a way to get speedy receivers the ball and out in space throughout his legendary career. Brown opened up more about his screenshot of his text message to the franchise’s winningest coach during recruitment.

“I mean, his track record really speaks for itself. He don’t really gotta pitch you on anything,” said Brown, “Real talk about what’s gonna happen, what was going on? That’s pretty much what landed me here.”

Brown should see a significant uptick in his production playing alongside his new teammates and in the Chiefs system.

Brown allegedly showed Reid’s message in a post to his Instagram account, seemingly welcoming him to the team.

The viral post received many comments and an X mention from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who also alluded to Reid being a possible recruiter.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown saw a couple of touchdown passes thrown his way in Week 3 wind up on the ground. The Baltimore Ravens’ wideout made up for it in a big way on Sunday.

Brown is wide, wide open behind the Denver Broncos’ secondary but he still had to lay out to make a diving grab of the pass from Lamar Jackson in the second quarter.

Brown does just that, coming up with the ball and the 49-yard score with the PAT but Baltimore ahead, 14-7, at that point.
