Ravens TE Mark Andrews to undergo ankle surgery

Ravens tight end Mark Andrews will undergo surgery on his ankle today in Charlotte with specialist Robert Anderson doing the procedure.

Mark Andrews is set to have ankle surgery on Tuesday, starting the process of a significant rehab that could see the Pro Bowl tight end potentially return for a deep playoff run.

After he exited the Baltimore Ravens’ 38-20 win over Cincinnati in Week 11 with a cracked fibula, the initial thought was that Andrews would miss the remainder of the season.

Now, after more tests and a potential second opinion, the Ravens are hopeful that he could return to the field this season.

Andrews had a pair of catches for 23 yards on the opening drive against the Bengals but was forced to exit the game before Gus Edwards scored the first of his two rushing touchdowns on the night.

Andrews is Lamar Jackson’s favorite target and had recorded 45 receptions for 544 yards and six touchdowns before the injury.
