One of the country’s top cornerback prospects in the 2024 class will be taking an official visit to Michigan State in June.

Four-star cornerback Marcellus Barnes Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn. will reportedly take an official visit to Michigan State on June 2, according to 247Sports. Barnes recently put Michigan State on his finalists list, which also included Georgia, Florida State and Ole Miss.

Barnes ranks as the No. 19 cornerback and No. 225 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class. He’s also listed as the No. 3 player from the state of Tennessee.

Michigan State is one of 16 schools to extend an offer to Barnes, according to 247Sports.

Michigan State football is one of seven schools still in the running for a big-time cornerback prospect from Tennessee.

Four-star cornerback Marcellus Barnes Jr. revealed his top seven schools list on Monday, which included Michigan State. The Spartans were joined by Ole Miss, Florida State, Georgia, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech and Baylor.

Barnes Jr. ranks as the No. 19 cornerback and No. 225 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class. He’s also list as the No. 3 player from Tennessee.

Barnes Jr. hails from Chattanooga, Tenn. and only recently earned a scholarship offer from the Spartans. Michigan State extended an offer to Barnes Jr. a few weeks ago — which came on the heels of offers from Florida State, Baylor and Ole Miss.
