Auburn linebacker target sets commitment date

He could become Auburn’s first commit since Hugh Freeze took over the Tigers.

Auburn linebacker target [autotag]Marcellius Pulliam[/autotag] plans to announce his college commitment on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. he announced Tuesday afternoon.

The three-star prospect from Tyrone, Georiga, is deciding among Auburn, Mississippi State, Miami, Georgia Tech and Louisville.

He is ranked as the No. 790 overall recruit and No. 63 linebacker in the 247Sports composite for the 2023 recruiting class. He is also ranked as the No. 68 player from the Peach State.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder never officially visited Auburn, but he unofficially visited twice, July 30 and March 19, this year. The Tigers do not currently have a linebacker committed in their 2023 class, which has 13 commits and ranks 32nd in the country and 10th in the SEC.

With two linebacker commits already in its 2023 class, Clemson remains in the mix for a three-star linebacker prospect.

Marcellius Pulliam took to Twitter on Sunday to announce his top eight schools. The class of 2023 recruit will choose between Clemson, Auburn, Miami, Kentucky, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Indiana and Mississippi State.

A Sandy Creek High School (Tyrone, Ga.) product, Pulliam is the No. 49 linebacker prospect in the class of 2023, according to On3 Consensus rankings.

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Auburn the edge to land Pulliam, with Kentucky and Miami right behind.

As of Monday, Clemson has 20 verbal commitments in its 2023 class, including two from linebackers Jamal Anderson and Dee Crayton.

Three-star LB from Georgia lists Auburn in top eight

Auburn is the current favorite to land Marcellius Pulliam, a three-star linebacker from the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Auburn could soon add some depth to the linebacker room for the 2023 cycle.

[autotag]Marcellius Pulliam[/autotag], a three-star linebacker from Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Georgia, has listed Auburn in his top-eight college choices.

Auburn is in a good spot to land Pulliam according to On3. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn is in the lead with a 46.3% chance to earn Pulliam’s commitment, leading Georgia Tech and Clemson.

Pulliam’s draw to Auburn is in due part to the relationship that he has built with linebackers coach [autotag]Christian Robinson[/autotag].

”Coach C-Rob, we chop it up almost every week,” Pullium said in a recent interview with Auburn Live. “Every time he’s got a moment and I’ve got a moment we’re always on the phone laughing it up and talking football. It’s a great relationship between me and him.”

Joining Auburn in Pulliam’s top eight are Clemson, Miami, Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana, Mississippi State, and Georgia Tech. A commitment date has yet to be announced, but he has scheduled an official visit to Auburn during the weekend of Sept. 24, when Auburn plays Missouri.

Clemson has dished out a new offer to a standout linebacker prospect in the class of 2023.

Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) three-star Marcellius Pulliam announced the offer from the Tigers via Twitter on Monday evening.

Pulliam was on campus Monday for a visit. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound rising senior is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals, which ranks him as the No. 28 outside linebacker in the nation.

In addition to Clemson, he currently holds offers from schools like Auburn, Buffalo, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Memphis, Miami (Oh.), Minnesota, Mississippi State, Mizzou, Tennessee State, Western Kentucky and Virginia Tech.

Three-star linebacker to visit Clemson in April

Clemson will host a visit for a three-star recruit on April 4.

Marcellius Pulliam, ranked as a three-star linebacker by Rivals, announced on Twitter on Monday that he will be visiting Clemson on April 4.

A Tyrone, Ga. native, Pulliam is set to graduate from Sandy Creek high school in 2023.

Although the Tigers have yet to offer Pulliam a scholarship, he has received offers from 16 other schools, according to 247 Sports. Three of the 16 schools, Miami, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, are other ACC teams.

Pulliam is listed at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds and is a duel-sport athlete also on the outdoor track and field team.

With the Tigers already having signed four-star linebacker TJ Dudley in the team’s 2022 class, Pulliam could add further depth in the linebacking room if offered and accepted.
