Legendary Chiefs duo receive top ratings in ‘Madden 25’

#Chiefs legends Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will be the only quarterback-tight end combination with 99 overall ratings in ‘Madden 25’

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a season of offensive struggles that have rarely been seen in the Patrick Mahomes era.

Between a receiving corps that led the league in dropped passes and an offensive line that was among the most penalized in the NFL, there were only a handful of bright spots on the Chiefs’ offense last year.

Two players who always played at the top of their game were quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce who became the only quarterback-receiver duo in the NFL to join the ’99 Club’ in EA Sports’ ‘Madden 25’, which is set to come out in two weeks.

This morning, EA Sports announced that Mahomes will receive his fourth 99 overall rating in the last five years while Kelce, whose rating was announced yesterday, will receive his fifth straight 99 rating.

The duo is expected to continue dominating opponents in 2024 as they chase a third straight Super Bowl victory, a feat that has never been accomplished in NFL history.

Matthew Stafford is the 12th-best quarterback in Madden 25

Matthew Stafford has an 83 overall rating in Madden 25, which makes him the 12th-best QB in the game

NFL coaches, executives and scouts voted Matthew Stafford the fifth-best quarterback in the league entering the 2024 season, a clear indication of how highly viewed he is despite being so late in his career. His peers voted him the 42nd-best player in all of football on the Top 100 Players of 2024 list, which is also quite impressive.

But the folks at EA Sports don’t see Stafford in the top tier at his position.

EA released ratings for every quarterback in “Madden NFL 25” and Stafford was given an 83 overall – tied with Aaron Rodgers. It puts him 12th among all quarterbacks, one rating higher than Jared Goff and two above C.J. Stroud and Jordan Love.

As disappointing as his 83 overall rating is for some fans, it’s a huge improvement compared to where he was this time last year in Madden 24. Last year, he had a 75 overall rating, which was tied with Daniel Jones for 21st at his position in the game. For comparison, Jimmy Garoppolo (77) was rated higher than Stafford in Madden 24, but Garoppolo is just a 67 overall in this year’s game.

Below are the top 32 quarterbacks in Madden 25 based on their overall ratings.

Kyle Hamilton was given a disrespectful rating in the upcoming Madden NFL 25

Kyle Hamilton was given a low rating in the upcoming Madden NFL 25

Following an All-Pro second season that cemented Kyle Hamilton as not only one of the best safeties but also defenders in the entire NFL, you would think his rating in the upcoming Madden NFL 25 video game would reflect that.

However, that is not the case at all. The Baltimore Ravens star defensive back is currently tied for the seventh-highest-ranked safety in the game with an 89 overall rating.

Hamilton was perhaps the best player on one of the league’s top defenses last season and has been widely praised as perhaps the league’s top safety, so it is strange that Madden has multiple other safeties—some of whom are coming off down seasons—ahead of the first-team All-Pro.

Per PFF War, Hamilton has been the NFL’s most valuable safety since entering the league in 2022 as a first-round pick of the Ravens.

If Hamilton picks up his third year in the league where he left off a season ago, his rating will surely rise to reflect his position as one of the truly elite players the NFL has to offer.

Chiefs DB earns 90-overall rating in ‘Madden 25’

One #Chiefs defensive back earned a 90-overall rating in the upcoming ‘Madden 25’ video game.

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the most exciting young secondaries in the NFL, and with the 2024 regular season drawing closer every day, all eyes are on the defending champions as they prepare for their latest campaign.

One player with high expectations this season is cornerback Trent McDuffie, who earned a 90-overall rating in the upcoming release of EA Sports’ football game Madden 25, which is set to hit shelves later this month.

Though nine other cornerbacks have better ratings than McDuffie, he can rise above a 90-overall grade if he can put together some exceptional performances during the regular season.

Other Chiefs, including Chris Jones and Travis Kelce, have already had their ratings revealed, but the final grades for quarterbacks haven’t yet been announced.

As a two-time cover athlete on ‘Madden’ and reigning Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes is expected to earn a spot in the game’s vaunted ’99 Club’.

Another member of the 49ers joins 99 club for Madden 25

Make that two players in the “99 Club” for the 49ers in Madden 25.

Christian McCaffrey won’t be alone in the 99 Club.

After the cover athlete and star running back, McCaffrey, was rightfully given a 99 rating in the upcoming Madden 25, another member of the San Francisco 49ers joined the exclusive club.

Left tackle Trent Williams became the second member of the 49ers offense to join the 99 club. Similar to McCaffrey, Eli Manning presented Williams with a special package for his spot in the 99 club. Williams joins McCaffrey, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce as members of the 99 club in Madden 25.

While McCaffrey made history as the first 49ers running back to earn a 99 overall rating, Williams is the only offensive lineman in 49ers history to join the 99 club on Madden.

Madden 25 isn’t the first time Williams has been named to the 99 club. In 2023, Williams earned a 99 overall rating for the first time. Since 2015, Madden has only dipped below a 90 overall rating once in 2016. Williams has 10 different editions of Madden where he has a 92 or better rating. Williams has been a 95 or better six times.

Madden 25 will hit the shelves on August 17.

49ers TE trailing only Travis Kelce in new set of ratings for Madden 25

Only one tight end has a higher rating over George Kittle in the new edition of Madden.

To no surprise, the San Francisco 49ers might be a cheat code in the new edition of Madden. As different position ratings begin to surface, one thing is clear — the 49ers will be loaded in Madden 25.

After cover star and 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey joined the 99 club with a top rating of 99 overall, George Kittle notched a high rating in the upcoming video game.

Trailing only Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Kittle is listed at 97 overall in the game. Kittle joined Kelce, Mark Andrews, T.J. Hockenson and David Njoku as tight ends with a 90 or better rating in Madden 25.

Via @EAMaddenNFL on Twitter:

Madden 25 will be the third straight year Kittle has landed a 97 rating in the game. Madden 21 is the only year Kittle earned a higher rating with a 98 overall. Kittle has been a 90 or better since his third season in 2020.

Kittle is coming off a First-Team AP All-Pro season with 1020 yards receiving to go along with six touchdowns in 16 games for the 49ers.

Madden 25 is set to release on August 17.

Travis Kelce to be top-rated tight end in ‘Madden 25’

#Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is set to be the top-rated player at his position in the upcoming release of ‘Madden 25’

The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to be among the NFL’s top squads this season, and even as training camp continues in St. Joseph, players on the team’s roster are already earning accolades for the new season.

This morning, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was announced as the newest member of the ’99 Club’ for the upcoming release of EA Sports’ football game ‘Madden 25’, which is set to come out later this month.

The honor is only given to a handful of players every year, and Kelce is no stranger to it, with his first 99 rating being given to him in 2019.

Though a high rating in ‘Madden’ hardly guarantees that Kelce will put together another record-setting season, the All-Pro tight end seems to be primed to continue his run of dominance in 2024 with this latest recognition.

For now, Kelce is the only member of Kansas City’s roster in the 99 club, but with more ratings set to be revealed soon, it is only a matter of time until Patrick Mahomes joins him.

Chiefs interior offensive linemen receive high ratings in ‘Madden NFL 25’

The accolades for the Kansas City Chiefs are rolling in from their 2023 Super Bowl-winning season. The upcoming release of Madden NFL 25 will feature high grades for the team’s interior offensive line.

Joe Thuney (91), Creed Humphrey (92), and Trey Smith (90) are the offensive line starters who each receive 90 or better overall ratings. The two guards and center were rewarded for exceptional play last season, while the tackles didn’t make the 90-plus ranking for this season.

Thuney and Humphrey were both voted Pro Bowlers last season, with the veteran left guard earning an All-Pro selection. Smith has yet to make a Pro Bowl but has earned a reputation as one of the better guards in the league, and his new rating further supports that assessment.

Another notable Chiefs star’s rating that was recently revealed is All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones, with a 97. In the upcoming game, he will enter the new season as the highest-rated defensive tackle. ‘Madden NFL 25’ will be released on August 16th and is available for pre-order now.
