How do Dolphins stack up to NFL in Madden 22 team rankings?

How do Dolphins stack up to NFL in Madden 22 team rankings?

The annual release of the ‘Madden’ franchise is creeping closer and as a part of the annual cycle, the game developer responsible, EA Sports, has conducted a steady drip campaign on player rankings over the course of the last several weeks to help draw interest and attention to the game. And they just dropped one of their biggest draws: the team overall rankings.

Where do the Miami Dolphins stack up in the first release of this year’s game?

If you were hoping for Miami to be a juggernaut team, we’ve got bad news for you. EA Sports has the Dolphins ranked as a 79 overall; a figure that is tied for 22nd best in the NFL. The Super Bowl champion Buccaneers top out this year’s rankings with a 92 overall and the Dolphins’ AFC East rival, the New York Jets, bottom out this year’s team rankings with a 72 overall.

The Dolphins’ defense is also give a score of 79 out of 100, although that ranking is better relative to the rest of the NFL. A 79 overall defense is good for T-18th in the game. Offensively? Look away, Dolphins fans. EA Sports ranks Miami’s offense a 70; the second-worst score given out in all of football and only one point better than the New York Jets.

Provided Miami’s early training camp performance of explosive plays carries over the the real games, we probably won’t see Miami sitting with the second-worst offense in all of football this upcoming year for very long. But until the Dolphins apply their abilities in such a setting, it seems as though the doubt will be ever present; even among the game developers at EA Sports.

Falcons QB Matt Ryan gets top-10 rating in Madden 22

In the latest batch of Madden 22 player ratings, Ryan was ranked as the game’s No. 10 signal-caller.

The debate over whether or not Matt Ryan is a top-10 quarterback is one that will be discussed until he is no longer a member of the Atlanta Falcons. However, in the eyes of EA Sports and the Madden NFL football franchise, Ryan is indeed still a top-10 QB.

In the latest batch of Madden 22 player ratings, Ryan was ranked as the game’s No. 10 signal-caller with an 85 overall. As the Falcons quarterback teeters on the edge, a big year in 2021 would help him remain in the top 10 for another season.

Ryan joins tight end Kyle Pitts as the only Falcons players to be revealed thus far in this year’s Madden game. While Pitts wasn’t among the top 10 tight ends, he did come in as the highest-rated rookie from the 2021 NFL draft.

Penei Sewell gets a solid debut rating in Madden NFL 22

Sewell is the top-rated rookie lineman in the Madden 22 player release

It’s just a video game, but the Madden NFL series is so much more than that for NFL players and many fans too. Players pore over the ratings, checking to see their attributes and how they stack up against other players at their positions.

Lions rookie offensive tackle Penei Sewell should feel pretty good about his initial ranking in this year’s edition, Madden NFL 22. Sewell starts out with a 75 overall rating, a good mark for a rookie lineman.

Befitting the first offensive tackle to be selected in the 2021 NFL draft, Sewell earned the highest initial player rating of any rookie offensive lineman. The other Lions rookies will get their ratings soon; EA Sports only released selected rankings so far.

Ratings for the upcoming EA Sports Madden NFL 22 have begun to make their way out. NFL reporter shared the top 10 rating rookies for the upcoming NFL game and it seems EA has chosen to disrespect Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris.

Not only was Harris omitted from the top 10 but with Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields checking in with just a 74 rating it seems EA has decided to really tighten up on rookie ratings across the board. Harris was the No. 24 overall pick to the Steelers and the top running back selected in the 2021 NFL draft.

What do you think Harris’ Madden rating will be? Let us know in the comments.

Falcons’ Kyle Pitts gets Madden’s highest rookie rating

Pitts was given an 81 overall rating, which is the best grade in this year’s draft class and the highest of any rookie since Baker Mayfield.

The Atlanta Falcons selected Kyle Pitts out of Florida with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, which is the highest a tight end has ever been chosen in the history of the draft. Pitts’ size and rare speed at the position had scouts referring to him as a “unicorn” throughout the draft process.

So it’s only right that Pitts’ Madden 22 rating reflects his elite athletic profile. EA Sports unveiled the player ratings for each rookie on Sunday and Falcons fans are in for a delightful surprise.

Pitts was given an 81 overall rating, which is the best grade in this year’s class and the highest of any rookie since Baker Mayfield earned the same mark in Madden 19.

Looking back at rookie ratings since Madden 16 and comparing them to the latest Madden 21 roster updates, Atlanta’s rookie tight end is sitting in a good spot for future success. Of the players who were given an initial rookie rating of 80 overall or higher, the average growth in rating was seven percent from an 81 overall to an 87. However, five athletes went beyond the 87 mark and into the 90+ range.

The three biggest climbers are Jalen Ramsey, Christian McCaffrey and Myles Garrett. These three went from an initial overall of 82 to an average of 98 overall, a 19 percent increase.

With the rest of the Falcons roster being unveiled soon, we took the liberty of predicting the team’s top five highest-rated players. Check back for more Madden ratings as they are released this offseason.

See where Bears QB Justin Fields ranks among rookies in Madden 22 ratings

Bears QB Justin Fields landed in the top 10 among rookies in Madden 22 ratings, tying for third among rookie QBs.

There’s a ton of excitement surrounding the arrival of Justin Fields in Chicago, where he has a chance to become the Bears’ first superstar quarterback in franchise history. And it’s clear that the folks of Madden 22 feel the same.

Madden 22 ratings have started to trickle out, where Allen Robinson was the 10th-highest rated wide receiver. Rookie ratings were also revealed, where Fields was among the top 10 rookies.

Fields tied with fellow rookie quarterback Trey Lance with a 74 overall rating, which was the fifth-best among rookies. Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts led the pack with an 81 rating while Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence led quarterbacks with a 78 rating.

Earlier this offseason, some top rookie quarterbacks took a swing at predicting their Madden 22 ratings. While most quarterbacks were too optimistic in their predictions — including Zach Wilson believing he’d get a 90 — Fields had a better grasp on how Madden ratings work, predicting his would be between 78 and 81.

When you look at the quarterbacks in this draft class, it’s silly that Wilson (75) landed ahead of Fields, who is the more proven and NFL-ready quarterback. But Fields will have a chance to increase his rating with an impressive rookie season.

While Fields currently sits at No. 2 on the depth chart behind Andy Dalton, Fields will have a chance to impress during training camp and preseason and perhaps pressure Matt Nagy to consider starting Fields, if he proves he’s ready.

Bears’ Allen Robinson ranks among top 10 wide receivers in Madden 22

Madden 22 released its wide receiver ratings, where Bears WR Allen Robinson had the 10th best rating at his position.

While Allen Robinson remains without a long-term contract in Chicago, there’s no denying his importance to the Bears heading into 2021. Robinson is one of the best wide receivers in the game, where he’s managed to find success despite the poor quarterback play around him.

Robinson has put together back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, where he’s been the most consistent player on the Bears’ offense over the last three years. And while Robinson has been snubbed in wide receiver rankings before, leave it to the folks at Madden 22 to tell you how it is.

Madden 22 released its wide receiver ratings on Monday, where Robinson garnered a 90 overall, which was the 10th best at his position. Last year, Robinson received an 89 rating.

Robinson will play the 2021 season on the franchise tag after he and the Bears failed to agree to terms on a long-term extension before July 15. And given the two sides haven’t had serious contract talks since last September, it wasn’t a huge surprise.

But Robinson still plans to report to training camp on time and play for Chicago in 2021 before he becomes a free agent in 2022. While the Bears could tag him again, it would cost them nearly $20 million, and it wouldn’t be a good look for them to not work out a long-term deal.
