Professional sports leagues have returned to play recently including the National Hockey League. There are a number of Spartans set to participate in the NHL’s Stanley Cup Qualifier games today, here a list below along with a neat graphic from MSU Hockey:

  • Mason Appleton – Winnipeg Jets Forward
  • Mackenzie MacEachern – St. Louis Blues Forward
  • Torey Krug – Boston Bruins Defender
  • Duncan Keith – Chicago Blackhawks Defender
  • Jeff Petry – Montreal Canadiens Defender
  • Derek Grant – Philadelphia Flyers Centerman

Mackenzie MacEachern was on the St. Louis Blues 2019 roster which won the Stanley Cup although he did not officially skate. Obviously, the most prolific players on this list are Boston Bruin Torey Krug and Chicago Blackhawk Ducan Keith.

Note, Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour is set to coach during these games.
