Australian guard Luke Travers will remain in the National Basketball League after signing a three-year contract with Melbourne United on Monday, the team announced.
Travers has spent the past three years with the Perth Wildcats.
The 21-year-old averaged 9.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, three assists and one steal on 50% shooting from the field, helping the Wildcats reach the NBL playoffs this past season. He shot 40% from 3-point range in 29 games.
The news was broken by former NBL Rookie of the Year Josh Giddey.

Travers was the 56th pick in the 2022 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played with the team in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 6.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals in five appearances.
He ultimately decided to return to Perth for this past season and will now change teams for next year. The move, Travers told Olgun Uluc of ESPN Australia, will give him a change of scenery on a team that produced NBA players Jock Landale and Jack White.
The Cavaliers drafted Travers with the intention of him playing at least a season or two in the NBL to continue to develop. He is highly touted for his versatility and ability to guard multiple positions and will have the opportunity to continue that work with Melbourne.
