2024 ATH and Aggie commit Terry Bussey has announced his signing time for Wednesday, Feb. 7

2024 5-star ATH Terry Bussey will officially sign with either Texas A&M, LSU, or Georgia in the early morning on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

The recruiting chronicles of 2024 5-star athlete Terry Bussey will finally come to an end, as the highly talented, versatile playmaker, who is currently committed to Texas A&M, is also considering LSU and Georgia before signing with either program on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 9:00 a.m. CT.

All three programs are deadlocked entering tomorrow’s announcement; however, Bussey is coming off his final visit to College Station last weekend, meeting with new Aggies head coach Mike Elko and his staff, which looks to be a good sign, if any.

Last week, On3’s Sam Spiegelman announced that Bussey was down to signing with either A&M or LSU, but after canceling his visit with the Tigers to do an in-home visit with Georgia last Friday, things make have changed.

Regarding his relationship with the new Texas A&M staff, Bussey, in an interview with On3 noted his close relationship with several position coaches, including Aggie’s cornerbacks coach Ishmael Aristide:

“I’ve been getting to know the new staff,” Bussey told On3 earlier this month. “It’s been great building a relationship with coach Elko, coach (Ishmael Aristide) and I’m building relationships with other coaches they already have on staff. They’re great guys, great people, they know a lot about football and they’re great football-minded people.”

According to On3, Bussey is currently positioned as the 30th-ranked player in the 2024 class, the No. 1-ranked athlete, and the 8th-ranked player in Texas.

2024 5-Star DL Dominick McKinley has flipped his commitment LSU

2024 5-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinnley has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU, announcement on New Year’s Eve.

Well, while everyone was ringing 2024, one of Texas A&M’s longstanding five-star commits in the 2024 recruiting class, defensive lineman Dominick McKinley, has flipped his commitment to LSU as the Louisiana native will stay home after the firing of Jimbo Fisher likely impacted his decision.

New Aggies head coach Mike Elko has already signed 14 players in the 2024 cycle, as McKinley and five-star athlete Terry Bussey remained the only prospects unsigned, which, of course, set in a dose of worry for the fan base over the next two months.

While it’s no surprise that McKinley was heavily pursued by the Tigers this month, the departure of former defensive line coach and interim HC Elijah Robinson was the final straw after developing a close relationship during the recruiting process. So far, A&M has signed four-star DL Dealyn Evans and three-star DL Kendall Jackson, but losing a talent like McKinley will sting in the long run.

According to 247Sports, Dominick McKinley is currently positioned as the 31st-ranked player, the 6th-ranked defensive lineman, and the No. 1-ranked player in Louisiana.

Former 2024 4-Star DL and Aggie commit has found a new home

2024 4-star DL and former Aggie commit Gabriel Reliford has reportedly committed to LSU after recently de-committing from Texas A&M.

In one of the more unsurprising turns of events, one of Texas A&M’s recent commits has found a new collegiate home as 2024 four-star defensive lineman Gabriel Reliford, a native of Louisiana, has committed to the LSU Tigers after de-committing from Texas A&M earlier this week.

While some will blame Elijah Robinson’s future departure to Syracuse as the primary reason for transfer portal and recruiting losses, new head football coach Mike Elko’s transition into the program would always result in some roster attrition.

As one of the rising players in the 2024 cycle, Reliford is currently positioned as the 30th-ranked Edge and the 12th-ranked player in Louisiana. Due to his rapid ascendance, it apparently took some time for LSU to realize just how dominant Reliford had been during his high school career at Evangel Christian Academy.

Credit goes to the Aggies and former head coach Jimbo Fisher for acknowledging Reliford’s versatile skill set before nearly everyone else, including LSU. However, while the losses sting, you can’t blame a hometown kid for wanting to play for his hometown team.

Five-star DL Dominick McKinley and four-star DL Dealyn Evans remain the only defensive line commits in A&M’s 2024 recruiting class.

2024 5-Star OT Weston Davis has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU

Well, when it rains, it pours, as 2024 five-star offensive tackle Weston Davis has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU.

Well, when it rains, it pours. Texas A&M has now taken two significant hits to their still-elite 2024 recruiting, first losing 2024 four-star wide receiver Drelon Miller. On Thursday night, it was reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett that highly coveted 2024 five-star offensive tackle Weston Davis, who committed to the Aggies in June, has flipped his commitment to the LSU Tigers.

While the specifics of his decision are currently unknown, the Beaumont (TX) native was an overwhelming favorite to land with the Tigers before surprisingly announcing his initial commitment to Texas A&M, so from that narrow perspective, maybe this isn’t as surprising as it looks on the surface.

However, Aggies O-line coach Steve Adazzio has been an absolute disaster this season, and I do not doubt that this had some or even significant influence on Davis’ final decision.

After taking an official visit to LSU on June 23rd, just three days before committing to A&M, who knows how much influence head coach Brian Kelly could have had leading up to today’s news?

Again, I’m not going to sugarcoat this: this one stings. Losing one of the best offensive tackle prospects in the country has become an unwanted custom in College Station under Fisher, and unless the Aggies turn things around in the second half of the 2023 campaign, things could get worse.

According to On3, Davis is currently positioned as the 18th player in the class, the 3rd-ranked offensive tackle, and the 4th-ranked player in Texas, already in the thick of his 2023 senior season at Beaumont (TX).
