Should LSU be worried about losing 5-star corner DJ Pickett?

DJ Pickett is the headliner of LSU’s 2025 defensive class. Can LSU hold on down the stretch?

Most of the 2025 five-stars have already committed, which means teams must push for flips if they wish to add a five-star to their class.

Miami is doing just that with five-star LSU commit [autotag]DJ Pickett[/autotag]. It came as somewhat of a surprise when Pickett committed to LSU over the summer. Now, the Tigers will be tested to hold on down the stretch.

According to On3, Pickett will visit Miami this weekend.

“Mario Cristobal has been relentless in his communication,” On3’s Steve Wiltfong said, “but I think the push is only going to continue as you get close to the early signing period in December.”

Pickett is a Florida native and LSU fought hard to beat out Pickett’s home-state teams, but that always gets tougher as signing day nears.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Pickett is the No. 8 overall prospect and the No. 2 overall corner. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] brought secondary coach [autotag]Corey Raymond[/autotag] back to LSU with the hope of landing defensive backs of Pickett’s caliber.

Raymond is off to a good start with Pickett on board, along with blue-chips [autotag]Kade Phillips[/autotag], [autotag]Jacob Bradford[/autotag] and [autotag]Aidan Anding[/autotag].

LSU’s had trouble building a consistent the last few years, but the 2025 class offers a chance to build a strong core on the backed. Keeping Pickett in the fold will be critical for Kelly and the LSU coaching staff as signing day nears.

Michigan reportedly pushing to flip 5-star LSU quarterback commit Bryce Underwood

Bryce Underwood has been firm in his pledge since committing in January, and he hasn’t taken any visits elsewhere.

It was a monumental moment on the recruiting trail when LSU landed a commitment from five-star quarterback [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag] in January.

The No. 1 overall player in America, Underwood was largely expected to pledge to in-state Michigan, which was in the midst of a national title run when he committed. Instead, he gave his pledge to the Tigers fresh off a Heisman campaign from [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag].

Underwood has been firm in his commitment in the more than nine months since, not taking any visits elsewhere while making multiple trips to Baton Rouge. However, it seems the Wolverines may be gearing up to make another run at his services.

According to Rivals, they are still going after Underwood amid a rough season of quarterback play. That push is reportedly “real” and the battle for him is “going to be interesting,” per Rivals.

Underwood has given no signs of wavering in his commitment, but the in-state blue-blood coming calling for him again is not something the Tigers want to see.

On3 predicting LSU to land 5-star 2026 offensive lineman

LSU is making progress with one of the top recruits in the 2026 class.

LSU’s 2025 class is one of the nation’s best. It’s loaded with five stars at the top and LSU is hoping to do the same thing with its 2026 class.

The Tigers are on their way, with On3’s Steve Wiltfong listing LSU as the projected destination for five-star offensive lineman [autotag]Lamar Brown[/autotag].

“The local University Lab five-star has spent a lot of time on the nearby campus and it’s hard to imagine him playing elsewhere in college,” Wiltfong wrote.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Brown is the No. 5 overall prospect in his class and the top interior offensive lineman. On3, 247Sports, and Rivals consider Brown Louisiana’s top 2026 prospect after defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart reclassified to 2025.

Brown was visiting LSU when the Tigers took down No. 9 Ole Miss on Saturday. Brown said the atmosphere “stood out.”

LSU’s 2026 class already has four prospects on board. All Louisiana products and all from New Orleans. The top-ranked 2026 commit is safety [autotag]Aiden Hall[/autotag] out of Edna Karr High School.

LSU offensive line coach [autotag]Brad Davis[/autotag] is a strong recruiter and a Baton Rouge native. It would be surprising to see LSU miss on Brown with Davis leading the charge.

Brian Kelly’s programs have a history of developing offensive linemen and that trend is continuing at LSU.

LSU flips 4-star safety Jacob Bradford from Houston

Jacob Bradford decommitted from the Cougars on Thursday, and LSU completed the flip on Saturday.

LSU’s hoping for a victory against Ole Miss in Week 7, and it started Saturday off with a victory on the recruiting trail.

The Tigers flipped four-star safety [autotag]Jacob Bradford[/autotag], a Baton Rouge native, from Houston. Bradford had been committed to the Cougars since June, but he picked up an offer from LSU in late July and officially visited last week.

He decommitted on Thursday, and the Tigers completed the flip on Saturday afternoon. News of his commitment was first reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Bradford ranks as a top-400 player nationally and is the No. 12 player in the state of Louisiana. He becomes the 27th member of a recruiting class that currently ranks fourth nationally according to 247Sports and third in the country per On3.

LSU to host 5-star Alabama commit as Ole Miss comes to town

LSU is set to host a big time receiving prospect this weekend.

LSU is set for a big recruiting weekend as No. 9 Ole Miss comes to town. A notable name on the visitors list is five-star Alabama commit Caleb Cunningham.

The new was reported by On3’s Chad Simmons on Friday morning.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Cunningham is the No. 2 ranked receiver in the 2025 class and No. 16 overall prospect. A Mississippi native, Cunningham committed to Alabama in July.

Despite the Bama pledge, LSU remains involved in his recruitment. Cunningham told On3 that he’s still 100% with Alabama, but LSU “is trying to make their way back in this thing.”

It’s a long shot, but Cunningham would be a major flip for an already-loaded LSU recruiting class. The Tigers already have three five-stars on board, including five-star QB [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag].

LSU has been involved with multiple five-star receivers this cycle but is yet to add an industry five-star to the group. LSU’s top-ranked receiving commit is four-star [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag], who ranks 52nd overall in the On3 Industry Rankings.

Overall, LSU’s 2025 class ranks fourth nationally and has 26 commits. The class is close to being finalized, but there are always a few surprises when the season ends and national signing day rolls around. LSU will have a chance to impress some big-time recruits with official visits during SEC play.

The Tigers are trending to flip Jacob Bradford from Houston.

LSU recently received some good news on the recruiting front as the Tigers are projected to flip a four-star safety who is currently committed to Houston.

[autotag]Jacob Bradford[/autotag] is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound, four-star safety from LSU’s backyard. He plays for Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. Bradford is a member of the 2025 recruiting class and he has been committed to Houston since June 23.

LSU currently has the No. 4 overall 2025 recruiting class. The Tigers currently have two safety commits for the class. [autotag]CJ Jimcoily[/autotag] and [autotag]Jhase Thomas[/autotag] are both three-star safeties who are committed to LSU.

There are currently 26 commitments for the class, headlined by three five-star players. [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag], [autotag]DJ Pickett[/autotag], and [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag] are the five-star players committed to LSU.

If Bradford were to commit and sign with the Tigers, it would be a big pickup for [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag]. He continues to try to recruit the boot at a high rate.
