The University of Tennessee women’s basketball team closed out its pre-conference schedule on a winning note.
The Lady Vols notched their sixth victory of the season with a 77-52 victory over Lipscomb University Monday night at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Tennessee (6-1) had every player score in the game.
The Lady Vols led 26-11 at the end of the first quarter thanks to a 3-point bucket by Rennia Davis as time expired in the frame.
Davis, who was recently named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Lady Vols who open SEC play Thursday night against Texas A&M in College Station.
Rae Burrell scored 10 points for Tennessee, while Kasi Kushkituah added nine points each.
Marta Suarez added eight and finished with seven for the Lady Vols, who committed 18 turnovers against the Bisons (3-3).
Taylor Clark led Lipscomb with 14 points. Former Webb School of Knoxville star Casey Collier had six points and five rebounds.
Collier is the daughter of former Tennessee point guard and current Webb coach Shelley Sexton Collier.
