This year sees some minor changes to the network affiliate list, which encompasses over 40 radio stations across the state of Michigan. Play-by-play man Dan Miller and color analyst Lomas Brown bring the Lions action to fans all over the state, headlined by the team’s flagship station, 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit. Pregame and postgame shows for both the exhibition season and regular season are part of the radio package, though may be preempted for different local programming.

The Detroit Lions media department is bringing back “Inside the Den” for 2020 training camp and episode one takes a look at COVID-19 preparations.
The Detroit Lions media department is bringing back their yearly series “Inside the Den” for a behind-the-scenes look at the teams 2020 training camp and episode one takes a look at COVID-19 preparations.
Shot and produced in the style of NFL Films and HBO’s Hard Knocks, the Lions give fans unique access to the team, organization, and players.
The video opens up with a quick montage of the last six months, beginning with how COVID-19 started impacting sports, leading to a virtual draft, into a virtual offseason of Zoom meetings, a complete facility overhaul, and player testing.
The first in-depth portion of the video focuses on testing and the protocols the players and team personnel have to go through before being cleared to enter the building. That leads into players arriving and getting outfitted with their gear and participating in individual photo shoots. And caps with coach Matt Patricia’s appearance on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football”.
The video shifts to Phase 1, where once medically cleared, players began their strength and conditioning portion of training camp on the practice field and in the weight room.
Overall this is a cool introduction through what the Lions did over the unusual first week of training camp and the next video will feature Phase 2 activities, which the players are currently in now, and will give fans a peek at non-padded football practices.

The Detroit Lions hired Cory Undlin as their new defensive coordinator this offseason and Trey Flowers is “very excited” to work with him.
The Detroit Lions hired Cory Undlin as their new defensive coordinator this offseason and Lions’ prized defensive end Trey Flowers is “very excited” to work with him.
“He’s a fiery guy,” Flowers said about Undlin. “He worked well with coach Patricia at the (New England) Patriots and I can tell that he’s about the same principals, he’s about winning, he’s about getting the job done, and he’s about it being about the players going out there making plays, regardless of the scheme.”
The Lions scheme is expected to go through some minor changes during training camp — we at Lions Wire have theorized the addition of Jamie Collins points to more positional fluidity at linebacker — and general manager Bob Quinn has pointed to Undlin’s “blend of systems” experience as a way of helping the Lions’ “make improvements in their defense”.
For the time being, the Lions are in phase two of their virtual Spring camp and aren’t diving too deep into scheme — only working on the basics per Flowers — but when they do get back out on the field, Flowers is looking forward to working more with Undlin.
“I’m very excited,” Flowers said about working with Undlin, “looking forward to it. I know he’s got high expectations, he sets a high standard, and anytime you got a coach like that — that gets the most out of guys, demands highly if guys — it’s always good to work with (coaches like him).”
Detroit Lions edge rusher Trey Flowers gives fans a behind-the-scenes peek at his offseason training program.
Detroit Lions edge rusher Trey Flowers is generally a private person, but as is often the case with high-profile players, there is an expectation from teams that they give fans a peek at who they are and what they do off the field.
The Lions’ media department does a terrific job of bridging the gap, allowing players to share at their comfort level, while also making entertaining videos fans want to watch.
In their latest video, the Lions’ media department and Flowers give fans a behind-the-scenes look at his offseason training program. Here are some of the highlights.
The video opens with Flowers inviting fans into the Phase 3 Fitness training facility to watch him workout. He explains how after the season, he takes a few weeks off to allow his body to heal, then starts back up with core training and lighter weights.
Flowers continues to explain how as a veteran he has learned how to prioritize warming up as not to aggravate or cause injury, as well as building strength without sacrificing flexibility. He goes on to explain that during the season, players work to maintain strength, and why they need to rely on the offseason to get healthy and gain strength.
For those unfamiliar with the series, it is led by Dustyn Blindert (Senior New Media Producer) and Eamonn Reynolds (Director of Football Communications), and it looks at Lions player’s lives off-the-field, giving fans a unique perspective on who the players are as individuals.
This episode opens with Wilson talking about what it was like growing up in a tough neighborhood and how he now reaches out to youth in the community, letting them know “their future is bigger than their environment, right now”.
The video then shifts to Wilson talking with youth about facing adversity head-on and not running from problems. He leans on his experiences of growing up in the projects without a mother (who died when he was 12 years old) or a father (who dies when he was only one year old) and that people are capable of overcoming adversity.
Wilson said he recognizes that the NFL provides him a platform to reach out and help others because that’s what he really wants to do. That line of thought transitions into the work he does to raise money for Lupus research as it has impacted his family.
Continuing with the family theme, Wilson then talks about his immediate family and how he enjoys spending time with them on his off days.
Wilson then spends some heartfelt time talking about his wife. Explaining how she is his biggest supporter, as well as the person who helped him break through barriers and overcome his fears.

Prepare to laugh as the Detroit Lions media department released the latest installment of “Goin’ Nuts with T.J. Episode 5”.
The Detroit Lions media department released the latest installment of “Goin’ Nuts with T.J. Episode 5” and Lang is running solo in this episode as he visits the Plymouth Historical Museum.
The video opens with Lang about to make an entrance into the museum wearing an ugly holiday sweater — note the hilariously subtle description under Lang’s name during the intro.
Lang begins his tour by learning about the museum’s connection to the famous movie A Christmas Story, making clever jokes about himself — like being teased that he looked like Raggedy Ann doll — along the way. Lang also took his picture in a cut out of the pink bunny suit from the movie and nailed the expression of sadness and disappointment.
Lang then jumps off the tour to visit the Lincoln exhibit and has a run-in with Abraham Lincoln, but Lang’s “like 99-percent sure” it’s not the real Lincoln though.

Prepare to laugh as the Detroit Lions media department released the latest installment of “Goin’ Nuts with T.J. Episode 4”.
The Detroit Lions media department released the latest installment of “Goin’ Nuts with T.J. Episode 4” and Lang welcomes in a special guest this week — Frank Ragnow.
This installment diverges from previous episodes that are drenched in humor, instead, taking a more serious approach to some things NFL players do on their off days during the season.
The video opens with Lang and Ragnow meeting up at the Glass Academy, to try their hand at blowing glass. Ragnow explains to Lang that he is a regular, is familiar with the process and will teach him how to do it.
Lang has some fun with some of the terminologies of glass blowing and eventually, wants to try his hand at making a creation. Ragnow — with a little assistance — takes Lang through the process but unfortunately, because it takes 14 hours for the glass to properly cool, we don’t get that final look at a finished product.
It’s always cool to get a behind the scenes look at the players you root for on Sunday and Lang’s series continues to give fans a look at different Lions’ player’s personalities.
