The Tampa Bay Lightning (28-11-2) take on the Nashville Predators (23-19-1) Tuesday with an 8 p.m. ET puck drop at Bridgestone Arena. Below, we analyze the Lightning-Predators odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Lightning picked up a 3-0 win against the Predators behind G Andrei Vasilevskiy Saturday. It was their second straight win after a two-game losing skid. The Over has connected in three of the past four outings for the defending champs.

Lightning at Predators: Projected starting goalies

Andrei Vasilevskiy (25-6-1, 2.00 GAA, .932 SV%, 4 SO) vs. Juuse Saros (14-7-0, 2.17 GAA, .929 SV%, 2 SO)

Vasilevskiy has picked up victories in two straight games, and four of his past five outings, including the shutout at Bridgestone Arena Saturday. He has dominated Nashville this season, with a record of 5-0-0 and a 1.81 GAA and .943 SV%.

Saros has rattled off four straight wins, and he was the understudy to Pekka Rinne when the Lightning visited over the weekend. He won eight of his past nine starts and allowed 3 or fewer goals in 16 straight outings. The last time he allowed more than 3 goals in a single start was Feb. 9 against the Lightning in a 6-1 Predators loss.

Lightning at Predators: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Lightning 3, Predators 1

Money line (ML)

The LIGHTNING (-165) cooled off the Predators in the first meeting Saturday, and they’re not terribly expensive in this spot. Vasilevskiy is the difference, as the Predators have had terrible difficulty this season trying to solve him.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The LIGHTNING -1.5 (+145) are a better value on the puck line, although there is risk here since they’re on the road, and Saros has been a pretty strong goaltender in his own right. Go lightly, but Tampa Bay is the side to be on.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 5.5 (-110) connected Saturday in the meeting in Nashville.

There is risk with playing the Under, as the Over was on a 3-0 run for the Lightning prior to Saturday; however, the Under cashed in four of the past five meetings in the Music City, and that will be the case Tuesday, too.

Tampa Bay Lightning at Nashville Predators odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Tampa Bay Lightning at Nashville Predators NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Tampa Bay Lightning (27-11-2) travel to meet the Nashville Predators (22-18-1) Saturday with an 8 p.m. ET puck drop at Bridgestone Arena. Below, we analyze the Lightning-Predators odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Lightning picked up a 6-4 win at the Columbus Blue Jackets Thursday to snap a mini two-game slide. They were outscored by the Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings by a 9-3 margin over the two-game skid. Tampa has dropped five of its eight outings since March 25, too.

The Predators have played themselves right back into the playoff race, including victories in each of their past three games while going 9-1 across their past 10. They also picked up a 4-1 win in Tampa March 15 as heavy underdogs to split a back-to-back set.

Lightning at Predators: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:55 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Lightning -185 (bet $185 to win $100) | Predators +155 (bet $100 to win $155)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Lightning -1.5 (+150) | Predators +1.5 (-185)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Lightning at Predators: Projected starting goalies

Andrei Vasilevskiy (24-6-1, 2.06 GAA, .929 SV%, 3 SO) vs. Juuse Saros (13-7-0, 2.19 GAA, .930 SV%, 2 SO)

Vasilevskiy has cooled off a little bit, winning just three of his past six starts. For a lot of goalies that wouldn’t be a big deal, but Vasilevskiy rattled off 12 straight victories from Feb. 22-March 23, including a 6-3 Lightning win over the Predators March 13.

Saros has picked up wins in three straight games, and seven of his past eight outings. He allowed 2 or fewer goals in 14 of his last 15 outings; however, he was paddled for six goals on 30 shots in his only appearance against the Lightning Feb. 9.

Lightning at Predators: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Predators 3, Lightning 2

Money line (ML)

The PREDATORS (+155) are a solid value at home, as they’re playing great hockey lately, while the Lightning are stuck in neutral. Nashville has nine wins across its past 10 games, so it’s worth a look on home ice.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The PREDATORS +1.5 (-185) are not as good of a value as on the money line, but they’re still not a bad play if you’re looking for a little insurance and not feeling Nashville straight up. They have cashed on the puck line in six of their past 10 games, so give them a spin.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 5.5 (-115) is a good play, as Vasilevskiy and Saros are Under plays. The Under is 8-2-3 in the past 13 starts for Saros, and the Under is 2-2 in Vasilevskiy’s past four outings.

Tampa Bay Lightning at Nashville Predators odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Tampa Bay Lightning at Nashville Predators NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Tampa Bay Lightning (7-1-1) begin another two-game set against the Nashville Predators (5-6-0) Monday with an 8 p.m. ET puck drop. This mini-series is being played in Music City after the Lightning swept a two-game set in Tampa, Fla., Jan. 30 and Feb. 1. Below, we analyze the Lightning-Predators NHL odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Lightning at Predators: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:18 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Lightning -155 (bet $155 to win $100) | Predators +130 (bet $100 to win $130)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Lightning -1.5 (+170) | Predators +1.5 (-200)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Lightning at Predators: Projected starting goalies

Andrei Vasilevskiy (7-1-1, .931 SV%, 1.88 GAA) vs. Juuse Saros (3-3-0, .893 SV%, 3.31 GAA)

Vasilevskiy has started every game for the Bolts and has a league-best 7 victories. He stopped 52 of 57 shots in the two wins over the Predators and most recently allowed just 2 goals on a total of 44 shots in back-to-back wins over the Detroit Red Wings.

Saros played one of the games against the Lightning in Tampa and allowed 4 goals on 27 shots in the loss. He started against the Florida Panthers Thursday but was pulled early after allowing 5 goals on just 24 shots. The Preds won 6-5 in overtime, but veteran G Pekka Rinne was credited with the win while stopping all 12 shots he faced in 22:53 of crease time.

Lightning at Predators: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Predators 2, Lightning 1

Money line (ML)

The PREDATORS (+130) are worth a small investment for the upset victory on home ice. The first head-to-head meeting this season ended in a 4-3 victory for the Lightning, so the Preds can get goals past Vasilevskiy and keep it close.

The teams rank similarly in Corsi For percentage and percentage of scoring chances at 5-on-5 for the season. Nashville gave up more shot attempts but had more of the full-strength scoring chances in the first head-to-head contest.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

It’s a little steep, but the PREDATORS +1.5 (-200) can also be backed with 1 goal of insurance in the event of a loss. Saros should come out with a better performance after several days of rest.

The Lightning won each of their last three games by 2 or more goals, but they had gone 2-1-1 in their previous four outings with both victories, including one over the Preds, decided by just a single goal.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 6 (-120) is the best play in this game. Both power-play units are in the bottom half of the league and both teams are in the bottom half in total goals per game.

The teams are a combined 10-9 against the Over/Under.
