Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva pay-per-view price revealed

Jake Paul will face Anderson Silva in a boxing match – and now fans now know what they’ll have to shell up to see it.

The upcoming boxing match between YouTuber [autotag]Jake Paul[/autotag] and former UFC middleweight champion [autotag]Anderson Silva[/autotag] now has a price point.

According to a point-of-purchase website launched Thursday, the Showtime pay-per-view event will run buyers $59.99. No additional Showtime subscription is necessary to purchase.

The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 29 at Footprint Center in Phoenix. The main card airs at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. ET. Paul (5-0) vs. Silva (3-1) also features a bout between former NFL standout [autotag]Le’Veon Bell[/autotag] (0-0) and former UFC middleweight contender [autotag]Uriah Hall[/autotag] (0-0).

Paul, 25, is 5-0 but has never faced an opponent with previous boxing experience (with the exception of his Tyron Woodley rematch, in which Woodley’s only past experience was their first meeting). It’s not without attempts, however, as matchups against boxers Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr. were canceled when Paul’s opponents pulled out.

Paul holds wins over former UFC fighters Woodley and Askren, as well as former NBA standout Nate Robinson and YouTuber Ali Enson Gib.

Silva, 47, is 3-0 in boxing. After his UFC departure in 2020, Silva reentered the boxing world – a place he went 1-0 prior to mainstream MMA tenure. In his post-UFC boxing appearances, Silva won a split decision over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and knocked out Tito Ortiz.

The updated Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva card lineup includes:

  • Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva
  • Le’Veon Bell vs. Uriah Hall
  • Antonio Nieves vs. Alexandro Santiago
  • Jeremiah Milton vs. Quintin Sumpter
  • Phillip Carmouche vs. Eliezer Silva

Le’Veon Bell to make pro boxing debut against MMA’s Uriah Hall on Jake Paul-Anderson Silva card

Le’Veon Bell will make his pro boxing debut against MMA’s Uriah Hall on the Jake Paul-Anderson Silva card on Oct. 29.

Former NFL player Le’Veon Bell apparently is serious about boxing.

Bell, who knocked out fellow running back Adrian Peterson in an exhibition last month, will make his pro debut against retired MMA fighter Uriah Hall on the Jake Paul-Anderson Silva pay-per-view card on Oct. 29 in Glendale, Arizona.

They will fight at a contracted weight of 195 pounds, five below the cruiserweight limit.

Bell, who reportedly dabbled in boxing during his NFL career, stopped Peterson with a single right hand in the fifth round of their exhibition at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.

Bell, 30, has relocated to L.A. to work with trainer Justin Fortune.

“As soon as Most Valuable Promotions approached me about joining the Paul-Silva pay-per-view, I told them, ‘I want in,’ and didn’t care who the opponent was,” Bell said. “Uriah Hall is going to feel my punching power and tap out like he’s getting submitted. He is not built like me.”

The 38-year-old Hall (17-11, 14 KOs in MMA) announced his retirement from MMA in August, the month after he lost a unanimous decision to Andre Muniz.

That fight took place at 185 pounds, which means Hall should be comfortable for his fight against Bell. Bell weighed in at 204.8 for the Peterson fight.

“Le’Veon Bell, I hope you bring your best,” Hall said. “I know I will. Thank you to Most Valuable Promotions for the opportunity.”

Former NFL running back knockout: Le’Veon Bell rings Adrian Peterson in boxing match

A pair of former NFL running back greats put on the boxing gloves on Saturday, resulting in a brutal knockout.

Just hours before the first full slate of Sunday games in the 2022 NFL season, a pair of former running back greats, Le’Veon Bell and Adrian Peterson, met in the boxing ring for an exhibition bout.

Despite the contest not carrying the characterization of a professional contest, the former All-Pro backs went at it with bad intentions, resulting in a devastating knockout at Social Gloves 2.

The first four rounds of the fight left much to be desired. However, in the fifth and final round, a crushing right hand from Bell left Peterson’s head ringing as he fell to the canvas.

Check out video of the finish below (via Twitter):

Bell, 30, weighed in at 204.8 pounds for the fight. He played 96 games in the NFL in his career, making three Pro Bowl appearances and two All-Pro teams. Last season, he played in a total of eight games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens before turning his attention to the boxing ring.

Peterson, 37, weighed in at 218 pounds. The vet who played with seven NFL franchises is fifth on the all-time rushing list with 14,918 yards and also split eight games in the 2021 season with the Tennesse Titans and Seattle Seahawks.

Social Gloves 2 took place Saturday at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles and was headlined by social media influencers Austin McBroom vs. AnEsonGib.

WATCH: Adrian Peterson gets knocked out by LeVeon Bell

The former Vikings MVP did not fare well in his boxing debut

Former Minnesota Vikings MVP running back Adrian Peterson isn’t cut out for the world of boxing.

The long-time Vikings running back doesn’t have an NFL team right now even though he has expressed an interest in playing this season.

On Saturday night, he had a scheduled match against LeVeon Bell and it did not go according to plan.

In the fifth round, Peterson and Bell were exchanging punches when Bell got a nice jab right on the chin, knocking Peterson down and ending the fight.

Not the greatest look for the former MVP.
