The 26th annual L’Arche Football Preview will be held virtually, for free, this year on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.
To watch live, you can click here to watch the livestream on Youtube.
There will be many incredible guests including Alabama head coach Nick Saban, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt, Baylor head coach Dave Aranda, ESPN’s Todd Blackledge, Rece David, and Ivan Maisel, and Sports Psychologist Kevin Elko just to name a few.
L’Arche director Marty O’Malley shares how the format will be:
“The interviews will be very unique. We’ve asked them to share some of their favorite stories, to talk about college football today and their team and to discuss leadership of young people today, particularly during our current world crisis. The answers are all over the board, and I think that is what has made our dinner successful in the past. I think it will be very entertaining.
When we went to this virtual format, I didn’t know if coaches would be able and willing to contribute and we ended up with a great lineup featuring 16 speakers and nine head coaches. That’s amazing. I attribute it mostly to the past relationships we’ve had with these guys. I shouldn’t be surprised by their willingness to be a part of it, but I kind of am. I think we made the right decision by doing it this way because people are craving something current right now.”
The history of L’Arche Mobile in incredible and inspring:
“L’Arche Mobile was established in 1974 when Janice Risse invited Debra to live with her. Debra was the “Founding Core Member of L’Arche Mobile. In September of 1974 Janice Risse Guillory invited Debra to live with her in house 161.
Supported by a local Board of Directors, the community has grown to include 25 core members and 55 Team Members/Assistants (direct care, house coordinators, office, nurses and leadership team) who share life together in six homes and an activity center. The activity center provides work opportunities for 22 people with developmental disabilities as well as Team Members/Assistants.”
The missions of L’Arche Mobile are simple: make known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities, revealed through mutually transforming relationships, foster an environment in communities that responds to the changing needs of members, while being faithful to the core values of our founding story, and engage in our diverse cultures, working together toward a more human society.
This is an event you won’t want to miss!
