A classless Packers fan poured beer all over Amon-Ra St. Brown after he scored a TD

This was unbelievably classless by a Packers fan.

A fun moment for the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football turned into yet another example of an NFL fan pushing the boundary of interacting with a player in the stands.

After Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown scored a touchdown in the first quarter against the team’s away game against the Green Bay Packers, St. Brown decided to do the “Lambeau Leap” into a host of Detroit fans.

Well, a classless Packers fan decided to get in on the moment by pouring beer all over St. Brown during his touchdown celebration.

It’s just another example of why moments like this might not be long for the NFL if people in the crowd can’t get their acts together.

Like, that is just ridiculous. We’re guessing this fan is going to get booted from the game and not allowed back at Lambeau Field any time soon.

NFL fans let this unruly fan have it for doing such a dumb thing to St. Brown in what should’ve been a fun moment for player and fans.

Video shows a horde of Lions fans stunningly overrunning the Packers at Lambeau Field

Who knew ANY opposing fans could take over Lambeau Field???

The Detroit Lions are in the midst of an unprecedented renaissance (for them, anyway). They look like a bona fide powerhouse and are probably the favorites for the NFC North. It’s abundantly clear that Dan Campbell has turned the Lions into a marquee draw again.

And Lions fans gave us a perfect example of the power of their Honolulu blue wave Thursday.

As Detroit geared up for a pivotal NFC North matchup against the Green Bay Packers, Detroit News reporter Justin Rogers filmed a stunning video that showed a lot of Lions fans at Lambeau Field. Trust me when I say this: I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many opposing fans at the most famous NFL stadium.

Folks, this isn’t some random one-off stadium of a bottom-feeding franchise. This is Lambeau Field, the place where the Packers play — perhaps the most successful team in professional football history. For Lions fans to take over Green Bay’s stadium like this says so much about how far Detroit has come.

Saints vs. Packers: How to watch, listen and stream Week 3 game

Saints vs. Packers: How to watch, listen and stream Week 3 game | @DillySanders

The New Orleans Saints head to Green Bay to take on the Packers for the second straight road game. The Saints will try to stay undefeated as the Packers try to bounce back after a loss to the Atlanta Falcons. This is the second time this season the Saints will play a team coming off of a loss to the Falcons. This will be the first start of Jordan Love’s career against the Saints; he’s 1-2 all-time as a starter in his career after sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for a couple of years.

The Packers offense and defense both rank towards the bottom of the league so far, but the home team is still favored to win this one by most sportsbooks, though not by much.

Here’s how you can tune into the Week 3 matchup on Sunday:

Packers to pick Bo Nix in latest 2024 NFL mock draft

In the latest mock NFL draft for 2024, Touchdownwire.com says Bo Nix is bound for the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field.

The last time the Green Bay Packers selected a Pac-10/12 quarterback in the draft, it worked out pretty well for them.

In the latest 2024 mock NFL draft put out by TouchdownWire.com, with the 25th pick, the Packers would select Oregon quarterback Bo Nix. If Green Bay did go this route, 19 years would have passed between picking Aaron Rodgers out of California in 2005 and Nix in next year’s draft.

But a lot of things have changed between now and then. Odds are the Packers would not sit their rookie quarterback for an entire season as they did Rodgers. There isn’t a Brett Favre standing in Nix’s way for playing time like he was for Rodgers.

Nix also doesn’t strike to be an individual wanting to host Jeopardy in the off-season or go in complete darkness for days on end to figure things out.

The mock draft also predicts USC’s Caleb Williams to go No. 1 to the Arizona Cardinals and Washington’s Michael Penix, Jr. No. 7 to the Las Vegas Raiders.

If Nix is a first-round pick, no matter where he ends up, it most likely means Oregon had a great 2023 season.

Rams didn’t want another cold-weather game vs. Packers at Lambeau Field

The Rams are sick of playing the Packers in the cold at Lambeau Field. The NFL didn’t really care.

[anyclip pubname=”2103″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8036″]

The Los Angeles Rams are sick of playing in the cold at Lambeau Field, but the NFL wasn’t prepared to honor the team’s request to schedule their regular-season showdown against the Green Bay Packers early in the year in 2023.

According to reporting from Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times, the Rams asked the NFL to schedule this year’s game at Lambeau Field in September or October. The league’s response? To schedule the game for Nov. 5.

This season will be the fourth-straight year that the Rams have come to Lambeau Field to play the Packers. The past three games were played in January (2020, playoffs), late November (2021) and mid-December (2022). The Packers won all three games, including two wins by double digits.

The warm-weather Rams are tired of coming to the cold and losing. Executive Kevin Demoff said it was “disappointing” that the NFL didn’t come through on the Rams’ request.

Eliminating a home-field advantage for no apparent reason other than a team’s request would have been more disappointing.

Average temps in Green Bay for early November are mid-40s, so the Rams might not face bone-chilling cold, although you never really know in Wisconsin’s climate. The Rams won’t be playing in the dead of winter, but it probably won’t be warm and sunny when the winter-scarred visitors from Los Angeles show up on Nov. 5. Bundle up, Rams.

Aaron Rodgers will lose his greatest NFL advantage when he leaves the Packers

The grass (or turf) on the other side isn’t always greener.

Aaron Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. There’s no way around it. Whether he calls it quits next offseason or five years from now, his status is cemented.

He’s also had the extreme fortune of playing every home game the last 18 years at one of the most storied stadiums in league history, Lambeau Field.

That’s going to change in 2023.

Rodgers was reportedly traded from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets on Monday, which would make MetLife Stadium his new home.

Fans everywhere were pumped, but his career record away from Lambeau doesn’t paint a pretty picture of how that might go.

Rodgers has an 91-23-1 career record in homes games and just a 59-56 record on the road. That translated against the spread too, where he’s 73-42-4 at home.

Bettors absolutely ate picking Rodgers to cover at Lambeau.

Once he leaves, that advantage could be gone.

That’s not to say Lambeau Field made Rodgers a great player. He’s a big reason the Packers were so good at home. But the sample size is more than big enough to say homefield played a role in his success too. Even in the playoffs, Rodgers is 5-4 at home vs. 5-6 on the road.

His career numbers across the board drop away from Lambeau.

Sure, you could blame his teammates for why the Packers were so much worse on the road, but even the advantage his supporting cast got at Lambeau won’t be nearly as huge at MetLife. Especially when you consider Rodgers’ potential declining state at age 39 and a much tougher division that includes the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.

The best place for Rodgers to be late in his career, if not a dome, was the place he was already at. The grass (or terrible turf) on the other side won’t be nearly as green.

Packers finally trade Aaron Rodgers to Jets, will host Saints without him in 2023

The Packers finally traded Aaron Rodgers to the Jets, meaning they will host the New Orleans Saints without him in 2023:

At last, our long national nightmare is over. ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported that the New York Jets finally completed a trade with the Green Bay Packers to acquire quarterback Aaron Rodgers, meaning the New Orleans Saints will be facing a different quarterback when they visit Lambeau Field in the fall.

Whether that will be Jordan Love or someone else remains to be seen; the Packers haven’t expressed much confidence in their former first-round pick, who has only appeared in 10 games through his first two seasons, losing his lone start back in 2021. Green Bay could position itself to draft a quarterback after moving up to the No. 13 overall pick and adding a couple of second rounders in this trade with the Jets.

The terms of the trade:

  • Packers get: 2023 first round pick (No. 13), 2023 second round pick (No. 42), 2023 sixth round pick (No. 207), conditional 2024 second round pick that upgrades to first round (if Rodgers plays 65% or more of snaps)
  • Jets get: 2023 first round pick (No. 15), 2023 fifth round pick (No. 170), Aaron Rodgers

As for the Saints and Jets: Rodgers’ new team is not scheduled to play against New Orleans until 2025, and the 39-year-old quarterback may choose to retire by then. We’ll circle back in a few years and see if he’s still hanging around. In the meantime, an already-weak Packers team just got worse, and the Saints should feel good about their chances of making some noise in the NFC with Derek Carr under center.

Week 17 Vikings vs. Packers: How to watch, stream and listen

The NFC North champion heads into Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon

[sendtonews_embed video_id=”B0zJPGwqaT-2449439-7498″]

What a wild rivalry week this has been. One Green Bay Packers podcaster Peter Butkowski made Twitter a warzone when he spent the entire week egging on Minnesota Vikings fans by calling the team fraudulent.

The game itself is a big one, as both teams are fighting for playoff position. Last season saw it be the same thing but in reverse with the Packers having already clinched the division.

The Vikings have a chip on their shoulder with the label of fraudulent being tossed at them left and right.

Make sure you know how to catch this epic battle between NFC North titans.

Packers look to build on four-game win streak at Lambeau against Rams

The #Packers have won their last four games against the #Rams at Lambeau Field

The Green Bay Packers have taken a noticeable step backward in 2022, but have a chance to secure their sixth win of the season against the defending Super Bowl champions in Week 15. They have won their last four games against the Los Angeles Rams at Lambeau Field by a margin of 116-59 points.

Though they’ll have their patented home-field advantage in this game playing in front of the Green Bay faithful, the matchup will be anything but a cakewalk. The Rams are exceptionally well-coached under Sean McVay and his exceptional staff of experienced assistants and can put a hurt on any opponent that takes the challenge of playing them lightly.

Los Angeles will be led by former first-overall pick Baker Mayfield under center, who was claimed by the Rams last week before starting his first game for the team in what would turn into one of the most improbable comeback efforts of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders. Mayfield’s struggles at the NFL levels are well-documented, but his natural talent makes him a threat as an improvisational playmaker with the ability to find open receivers downfield with expert precision.

The Packers will also have to contend against the Rams’ exceptional defense, headlined by former defensive player of the year Aaron Donald and a cast of up-and-coming talent that has played some scrappy football this season. Donald can take over any matchup against lesser offensive linemen when he is schemed into favorable matchups, and Aaron Rodgers will need to stay on his toes to avoid letting the defensive lineman take over the game.

All in all, Green Bay has the skills and talent necessary to extend their home winning streak against Los Angeles, but they certainly can’t afford to get complacent in their efforts on Monday. Watch for Matt LaFleur to bring a heady game plan into the matchup to dissect the Rams’ defense, and for Rodgers to make some incredible plays to help lift the Packers to victory.

Notre Dame football: The coldest games in recent memory

Coldest you’ve ever been at a sporting event?

When Notre Dame hosts Boston College for senior day on Saturday it will be one of the coldest games in recent memory at Notre Dame Stadium.  According to the Notre Dame game notes from the 2013 win over BYU, that particular day was then the coldest game at the stadium since 1991.  There have certainly been cold ones since but I haven’t found one officially listed as colder.

Temperature is one thing but wind, rain, snow, and perhaps icy seats can make things significantly worse, even if the temperature is warmer.  With this game in mind and the idea of bundling up in my head I threw a question out to the masses on social media.  I simply asked: “What is the coldest you’ve ever been at a sporting event? (Not necessarily the air temp but worst physical cold feeling you sat thru)”

I’ve got answers that involve Notre Dame and have nothing to do with Notre Dame.  Living around Chicago my entire life has provided plenty of April baseball games and winter football games to freeze my rear-end off at.

Here are some of the best replies to the question.  The only ones I posted are related to Notre Dame but my mentions are full of classic memories of fans freezing their fingers off while watching their teams.
