WATCH: NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt wants Josh Allen to keep up physical play

WATCH: NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt wants Josh Allen to keep up physical play:

A lightning rod for attention relating to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is his style of play.

While a gun-slinger that has improved his throwing since his rookie year, there’s one area never really got better at: Taking less hits.

What makes Allen so different is his ability to move while being such a big-bodied QB. Because of that, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott and others often discuss wanting Allen to be more self-aware when taking shots from defenders.

However, NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt thinks the opposite. The analyst doesn’t want Allen to take an injury, but Brandt thinks Allen should keep rolling the dice and making dynamic plays no matter the consequence.

Check out the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast clip below for the full breakdown:

Bills’ Josh Allen dishes on idea of Aaron Rodgers to the Jets (video)

#Bills’ Josh Allen dishes on the idea of Aaron Rodgers to the #Jets (video):

It’s the NFL offseason.

With that comes key dates to keep in mind such as the 2023 NFL draft.

There are also storylines to consider.

In that area, it’s rinse and repeat every spring. Will future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers return to the Packers?

We always hear that one come up and it is again in 2023. But this time one potential suitor for Rodgers is a team close to home for the Bills: Their AFC East rival, the Jets.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen dished his thoughts on the idea. He tried to only note how he still just has to face the Jets defense and that’s his focus… but Allen did eventually mention how “gifted” he thinks Rodgers is.

“If he joins them, that’s another good quarterback in the division that we’re going to have to play well,” Allen said on the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast.

Bills QB Josh Allen updates elbow injury

Allen’s thoughts on his elbow:

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen gave an update regarding his elbow injury that he played through during the 2022 season.

While the reflection on dealing with the elbow last season was a bit mixed up, Allen’s current description of his health was very positive.

“It feels fantastic, I couldn’t tell you any complaints about it right now,” Allen said on the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast.

While that’s the most important aspect to worry about moving forward, Allen did downplay how much the elbow bothered him during the year. That was something which contradicts his prior comments on the issue.

The QB previously said he would have to deal with the injury for the “foreseeable future” in early December. After the season, Allen noted that the injury changed his throwing mechanics.

From the sounds of it, post-Super Bowl 57, Allen just didn’t want to make any excuses for his team’s shortcomings last year. That’s a mindset we’ve seen from him throughout his career.

Bills’ Josh Allen breaks down what goes on for him during halftime (video)

Halftime adjustments or just snack time?

Bills quarterback Josh Allen discussed what goes on during the mid-game intermission for him and his teammates during his weekly appearance on Kyle Brandt’s podcast.

The topic came up because Peyton Manning noted during a broadcast this week that he didn’t really ever make game changes during his career at halftime. Allen had a bit of a different, more detailed answer.

#Bills’ Josh Allen on #Bengals: ‘We’re going to have our hands full’ (video)

Bills quarterback Josh Allen made more early comments on the Bengals via the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast.

A few weeks back, Allen gave his very early thoughts on the Bengals (11-4)… while on the same show. Then, he mostly dove into the QB he’ll be sharing the field with in Week 17: Joe Burrow.

Allen again noted his relationship with Burrow, but this time he mentioned the Bengals defense as well. Allen is familiar with some players on the unit and mentioned how it will be a tough test for the Bills (12-3).

“We’re going to have our hands full. That’s a defense playing lights out,” Allen said.

Josh Allen on #Bills having a dome: ‘Fairly soft take’

You might have heard, the Bills are getting a new stadium.

It’s not going to have a dome, either.

During his weekly appearance on the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast, Josh Allen made a statement in a big way regarding that idea. The Bills quarterback is very against the team having one.

“That’s a fairly soft take,” Allen said. “It’s football, man. It’s football weather.”

Josh Allen explains why he smiled after taking big hit vs. Packers (video)

Josh Allen explains why he smiled after taking big hit vs. Packers (video):

Bills quarterback Josh Allen helped step up a touchdown in Week 8 against the Packers thanks to his feet. But he paid the price.

Allen ran down to the goal line and took a huge hit from Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas. It looked like it hurt, but Allen hopped up and cameras and the mic he was wearing caught him saying… enjoyed it.

“I love that s—,” Allen said on the field.

During his weekly appearance on the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast, Allen explained why that’s how he feels. Admittedly, Allen said he might be crazy.

Like Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen also does weird things with a sauce (video)

Josh Allen & Pat Mahomes are both great QBs with cannons who also like to put their favorite condiments on weird stuff:

Don’t knock it till you try it… but Bills quarterback Josh Allen has an interesting take on a sauce.

Allen made his weekly appearance on the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast on Tuesday. There, the Bills’ upcoming game against the Jets was previewed.

Sauce came up because of the Jets’ top rookie, cornerback Ahmad Gardner, who is better known by his nickname: “Sauce.”

Taking that out of context, Allen was asked for his take on sauce… the condiment variety. He revealed his go to is A1 steak sauce.

However… he took a Patrick Mahomes approach.

The Chiefs QB turned heads a few years back when he revealed he likes ketchup on… steak.

Allen essentially flipped the script.

He said he likes A1 on his French fries. So much so, Allen will go to a steakhouse and ask for the A1 sauce but he is sure to tell the staff that it’s not for the meat… it’s for the potatoes.

Check out Allen’s entire steak sauce on fries analysis in the KBB clip below:

Josh Allen had a bruise on his butt after jumping over defender (video)

Josh Allen’s behind paying some consequences:

Bills quarterback Josh Allen revealed that there is actually one bad effect of jumping over another person.

In Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Allen led his team to a 24-20 win. During a critical, late drive, Allen decided to jump over Chiefs defender Justin Reid.

The highlight looked awesome. But it did not feel awesome.

During his ensuing weekly appearance on the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast, Allen discussed the play. He noted one regret he has from what went down: He had a big bruise on his butt afterword.

Check out Allen discussing his leap in the clip below:

Even Bills QB Josh Allen has issue with recent roughing the passer calls (video)

Even #Bills QB Josh Allen has issue with recent roughing the passer calls (video):

The NFL has had a bit of an issue with roughing the passer penalties being called.

In Week 5, there were a few in other games around the league that had questionable roughing the passer penalties happen. Outrage has come about because drives were extended and games were lost.

According to ESPN, the NFL is going to look at the situation and see if something can be changed down the road. But even Bills quarterback Josh Allen openly admits something needs to give.

Allen knows he’s not a fan of getting hit. Who is?

But he also said on the Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast that he’s a football player in his heart. Because of that, he can’t help but want something to be fixed for the better.

Check out the KBB clip below for Allen’s full thoughts:
