Jay Cutler’s Instagram disappears after Kristin Cavallari photo goes viral

Oh no.

The Instagram account belonging to former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler has disappeared.

That hopefully doesn’t mean that was the last we’ll see of @ifjayhadinstagram (which is such a good handle), because Cutler used it to deliver one of the best tales from quarantine: the hunt for the “chicken serial killer” who was going after his fowls (a mystery that was finally solved).

The timing of the pause or deletion or whatever it is happens to coincide with his ex-wife Kristin Cavallari posting a photo with her ex, Stephen Colletti, which went viral:

Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari to divorce, and we will miss a truly relatable couple

The couple announced their split on Instagram after a long trip to the Bahamas was extended due to coronavirus.

Former Broncos, Bears and Dolphins QB Jay Cutler and reality TV personality Kristin Cavallari announced they were divorcing in an Instagram post over the weekend. The announcement came just a short time after the two posted repeatedly about being stuck in the Bahamas due to coronavirus quarantine measures.

The two were married in 2013, and have three young children.

In the Instagram post, Cavallari wrote that “This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”

A lot of us got to know Cutler and Cavallari through her reality TV show, Very Cavalleri, which let us get a glimpse into their relationship and see just how human the two of them were.

We all know a Jay Cutler, the acerbic grouch who still is an involved husband, and we all know a Kristin Cavallari, the earnest go-getter. We know couples like that. Perhaps we’ve been in relationships like that. It felt like they worked, for whatever strange reason, and it’s sad and strange to hear that they’re splitting up.

Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari announce they are divorcing

Jay Cutler and his wife Kristin Cavallari are divorcing after being together for 10 years.

A little pop culture news with an NFL bent Sunday. Former Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler and his wife, Kristin Cavallari, are getting divorced.

The fashion designer/actress took to Instagram to make the announcement.

“With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”

Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari are getting a divorce – and people are taking it pretty hard

Following news of Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari’s divorce, people are taking it harder than expected.

The world is in mourning following the news that former Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and wife Kristin Cavallari are getting a divorce after 10 years of marriage.

Cutler played eight seasons for the Bears before being released in 2016, and his time in Chicago was certainly a memorable one.

Still, Bears fans have followed Cutty in his post-Bears career, which included a one-year stint with the Miami Dolphins and his appearance on Very Cavallari.

And following news of Cutler and Cavallari’s divorce, people are taking it harder than expected.

While Cutler’s NFL career was controversial, he redeemed himself in the eyes of many with his reality TV career.

Cutler rose to reality TV fame on his wife’s show Very Cavallari, where he quickly stole the show and the show gained a whole new following — sports fans.

Naturally, people are upset at the thought of Cutler not appearing on our screens anymore — and some have suggested Cutler get his own reality TV show.

Following his release from the Bears in 2016, Cutler made the decision to hit the broadcast booth as an announcer in 2017. But those plans were put on hold when he took the Dolphins up on their offer to be their starting quarterback.

Now, some are clamoring for Cutler’s return to the broadcast booth.

Someone even suggested getting Cutler back on the market — and in a reality television format, where we can appreciate him.

Patriots fans, meanwhile, are trying to recruit him to New England, who is in need of a starting quarterback to succeed sure-fire Hall of Famer Tom Brady.

Say it ain’t so! Former Bears QB Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari are getting a divorce

Former Bears QB Jay Cutler and reality television star Kristin Cavallari announced they are getting a divorce.

Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and reality television star Kristin Cavallari announced the two will be getting a divorce in a post on Instagram.

The Bears all-time leading passer and former Laguna Beach star met over 10 years ago when Cutler was playing in Chicago. The two wed in 2013 and have three children together, living in Chicago until Cutler was released by the Bears in 2017.

After retiring from the NFL following a stint with the Miami Dolphins, Cutler and Cavallari moved to Nashville, TN and starred in the reality show “Very Cavallari” where Cutler became a TV phenomenon thanks to his dry sense of humor and interests in deer hunting.

Cutler has been rumored to be joining a television booth for NFL gamedays, according to a report from the Big Lead earlier this year. It’s unclear if his looming divorce will have any impact on his decision to pursue a broadcasting career.

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler are riding out the coronavirus in the Bahamas

Instead of sheltering in place, it looks like they went on a vacation and just never came back?

Coronavirus lockdowns happened so fast around the world that, in some cases, people were caught off guard. It looks like Kristin Cavallari and her former NFL QB husband Jay Cutler are two of those such people.

As pointed out by Twitter user @clairecdowns in a very detailed and well-researched thread, it looks like Cutler, Cavallari, her hairdresser and his fiancé, have been stuck in the Bahamas for close to three weeks now, riding out the coronavirus self-isolation order.

It’s hard to get a direct timeline from Cavallari’s Instagram, and again, @clairecdowns has a much more through breakdown, but on March 15, she posted this picture of her and her friend, professional hairstylist Justin Anderson, on the beach.

Anderson posted another image of the quartet on the beach on March 17, alluding to their not being able to go back home, “even if they tried.”

“being stuck on an empty island and forced to quarantine could be worse. thankful for my wolf pack during these scary times. this is where we are, this is us staying positive. we couldn’t be social here if we tried ✌🏼 i am afraid of what we will go home to when they let us back into the states 😢 hope you’re all staying safe where ever you happen to be ♥️” the post reads.

Over the past two plus weeks, multiple posts from Anderson, Cavallari and Cutler have talked about isolating in the Bahamas. Here’s this post from Anderson on March 27th, which says all four of them have been stuck together for 14 days and counting.

“i meannnn let’s get real for a second- spending FOURTEEN days not spending time with anyone else is nuts, but we’ve done it. AND i still love each of them. that’s pretty solid 💪🏽🏝♥️ the family that quarantines together, stays together… 🤞🏼 stay tuned ya filthy animals!,” the caption reads.

Cutler has resorted to making Castaway jokes on his Instagram, with an ever-evolving count of days spent isolated.

It certainly looks like hanging out in the Bahamas is the new normal for Cutler and Cavallari, but it also leads to so, so many questions. How did this happen? Was this a choice? Are they even trying to get back? Are they determined to ride out the pandemic in paradise? Why were they traveling to begin with? Most importantly, how much is this costing them? Island life don’t come cheap.

Also, because of the super sleuthing Claire has done, it sounds like staying is a choice. Until recently, Americans in the Bahamas were not just allowed to leave to go home, but urged to do so.

Anyway, nothing feels more on brand than the world trying to gut out a pandemic and Cavallari continuing to just focus on posting her workout videos.
