Wisconsin’s top basketball target Kon Knueppel schedules three official visits

Wisconsin’s top basketball target Kon Knueppel schedules three official visits

Wisconsin target Kon Knueppel’s recruitment has picked up heavily in recent months, especially in the past few weeks.

Knueppel has been tearing it up on the club circuit this summer and earned an offer from Duke in the process.

The five-star talent will take a trio of visits in September. He plans to head to Alabama, Virginia and Duke in that order. His visit to Duke is planned for Sept. 15.

Knueppel is a 6-foot-6 sharpshooter who has emerged as one of the best pure scorers in the country. His recruitment has really picked up in recent weeks, and Wisconsin is in for a fight to land the in-state standout.

The kid can play

The Kon Knueppel hype machine is running on all cylinders. The top recruit from the state of Wisconsin in the class of 2024 and 247Sports’ No. 20 recruit in the country is picking up offers from the sport’s blue bloods, and beginning to showcase his skills on a national stage.

Wisconsin is hot on the trail for Knueppel. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native would instantly make the Badgers’ 2024 group one of the best in the country, and arguably the best in program history.

Current programs also on the trail for Knueppel include Duke, Virginia, Illinois, Iowa and Marquette. With more sure to join in the coming months.

The small forward’s skills were recently on display at the NBA Top 100 Camp in Orlando, Florida. Courtside Films on Twitter posted highlights from his time at the camp:

Wisconsin’s top 2024 target included in the latest ESPN 100

The industry agrees on 2024 small forward Kon Knueppel

Wisconsin native Kon Knueppel is shooting up recruiting rankings at a startling pace. The five-star small forward is the No. 21 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite and No. 13 according to Rivals.

The Milwaukee native is now being pursued by blue bloods including Duke, Gonzaga, UCLA and Virginia. For Greg Gard and his staff, the addition of Knueppel would likely be the biggest recruiting win the program has ever seen. My hope is the presence of top 2024 point guard Daniel Freitag helps to make that a reality.

Whatever you make about the different recruiting services, Knueppel’s rise has been uniform across the industry. SportsCenter NEXT tweeted the latest ESPN 100 yesterday and included at No. 37: the five-star small forward from Milwaukee.

Report: Duke is now after Wisconsin basketball’s top target in the class of 2024

Wisconsin has some big-time competition to land Kon Knueppel…

A player such as Class of 2024 small forward Kon Knueppel doesn’t come out of the state of Wisconsin every year. The Milwaukee native is on a meteoric rise entering his senior season. He is a five-star on the 247Sports composite and a top-20 player in the country.

Greg Gard got Knueppel on campus earlier this month as his recruitment heats up at an alarming rate. A commitment to the Badgers would easily mark the biggest recruiting win of Gard’s career, and pair Knueppel with top point guard Daniel Freitag in the class. Not only would it be Gard’s biggest win, it would assemble one of the best classes the program has ever seen.

The recruitment of Knueppel gets tougher by the week, however, as the star small forward continues to rise in the online rankings. The better a prospect becomes, the more blue bloods join the race. That was the case this weekend. Mark Miller of WisSports.net reported Duke, Gonzaga and UCLA are showing strong interest in Knueppel.

247Sports’ Evan Flood seconded the report, adding that Knueppel “plans to narrow his list to 5-6 schools in the near future.”

For the first time in a long time, it’s time to switch off Badger football recruiting and turn all eyes to whether Gard can land a career-defining player.

Wisconsin in-state 2024 guard now a top-15 recruit in the country

The state of Wisconsin now has one of 2024’s top recruits in the country

Wisconsin basketball recruiting has impressed as of late, landing transfer guard A.J. Storr and top 2024 point guard Daniel Freitag.

The bolstering of the roster comes after a disappointing 2022-23 campaign. While many were critical of head coach Greg Gard during and after the season, it’s clear he has a productive vision for the future of the program.

One of Gard’s remaining top targets in the class of 2024 is in-state shooting guard Kon Knueppel. The Milwaukee native has offers from top programs across the country, including Virginia, Illinois, Iowa and Miami.

Jon McNamara of Rivals tweeted Tuesday that Knueppel continues to rise in the site’s class of 2024 rankings. He recently shot up from the No. 21 player overall to No. 13.

Gard landing the five-star guard would be one of the biggest recruiting wins of his career, especially coming after landing Freitag. The class with Freitag and three-star small forward Jack Robison sits in the top-20 nationally. The addition of Knueppel would assuredly shoot the group into the top 10 and maybe higher.

No basketball games will be played for a few months in Madison, Wisconsin. But a massive contest off the court is ongoing. As the days pass, that contest to land Knueppel only gets bigger and bigger.

Report: Ohio State to host 2024 4-star Wisconsin small forward

A big visit for the Buckeyes

[autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] basketball is still searching for players that will fit well with their lone current 2024 commit, point guard Juni Mobley.

Head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] is looking for versatile wings and they might have found a match in Wisconsin small forward [autotag]Kon Knueppel[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 5-inch and 205 forward is among the best players in the country, the 12th best at his position and 33rd nationally according to the 247Sports composite.

In a report by 247Sports Travis Branham, Knueppel told him that Ohio State is one of two visits that he will make in the month of June, along with Louisville.

Knueppel has really taken a step foward during the AAU season, and would be a massive recruiting win for the Buckeyes if he commits.
