AEW Dynamite results 08/30/23: Orange Cassidy wins but must face Mox at All Out

Orange Cassidy cut the most fiery promo of his career after the AEW Dynamite main event in Chicago.

Unlike AEW pay-per-views, which tend not to have too may matches promoted too far in advance, tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite from Chicago is shrouded in some mystery.

There could be … reasons for that. The scuttlebutt is that some talent experienced delays returning from London for All In. Tony Khan also reportedly told anyone who needed it that they could have this week off to attend Bray Wyatt’s funeral service, though that is now next week and could bring some people back into the fold for this Dynamite.

On top of that, CM Punk and Jack Perry are reportedly suspended following their run-in at All In. While Punk has been exclusively on Collision since that show started and almost certainly wouldn’t have been on tonight’s show, the uncertainty regarding his status for this weekend’s PPV could definitely be having a ripple effect on Khan’s plans.

All of which brings us back to Dynamite, which is the rare AEW Wednesday show without tons announced ahead of time. We know there will be a title match, with Orange Cassidy defending the AEW International Championship against Penta El Zero Miedo. The winner gets the gold, which is nice, but also has to face Jon Moxley Sunday, which is less nice.

We’ll also hear from Adam Cole, the loser of All In’s tremendous AEW World Championship title bout. Cole decided not to cheat to beat MJF, just as the champ passed up opportunities to take shortcuts to defeat him. Is he experiencing any remorse over his choices? We may learn that tonight.

Other than that, everything else for tonight’s show is, for now anyway, a surprise. Sometimes that’s fun, though, and we hope that’s the case for the second straight go home Dynamite in a row.

AEW Dynamite results from Chicago:

(scroll down for full details on any match or segment in bold)

  • After All In, FTR finds the Young Bucks to see why they didn’t show respect after their match, but their conversation is crashed by Bullet Club Gold, who ends up setting up FTR and the Bucks vs. them in an eight-man tag match at All Out

  • Daddy Ass confirms that he’s back, and The Acclaimed have a ribbon-cutting ceremony that introduces new, pink Trios title belts; the trio will defend their titles for the first time Saturday on Collision
  • Orange Cassidy def. Penta El Zero Miedo by pinfall to retain the AEW International Championship
  • Somewhat surprisingly, Cassidy takes the mic afterward, saying he’s in pain and so tired, but the title means everything to him.; Moxley joins him in the ring and the champ tries to take a shot at him, but he’s got nothing left and Mox simply sneers at him

AEW Rampage results 08/18/23: Fight for the Fallen ends with 4-way brawl

The women in the 4-way title match at All In ended AEW Rampage Fight for the Fallen with a huge brawl.

We’re less than two weeks away from what’s shaping up to be a historic AEW All In at London’s Wembley Stadium. And while today’s news hasn’t exactly been great for the company, one thing that can take some of the bad vibes away would be a great hour of Rampage.

This one looks like it could be exactly that, with two of AEW’s best high-fliers going at it, plus a big women’s tag team match and the ROH tag team champs in action as well.

So yes, it’ll be nice to just concentrate on the actual wrestling for a bit, plus the fact that all of AEW’s shows this week benefit the Maui Food Bank. Let’s do it together.

AEW Rampage Fight for the Fallen results:

  • Rey Fenix def. Komander by pinfall with Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley shown watching closely on a backstage monitor
  • Dr. Britt Baker tells Renee Paquette that it would be the best full circle moment to win the women’s world championship at All In
  • Johnny TV congratulates
  • Aussie Open def. Ethan Page and Brother Zay by pinfall to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship; afterward, they get on the mic to warn Adam Cole and MJF they will show them who’s the best at Wembley
  • A video package hypes up The Righteous, which includes a face longtime AEW fans will know in Stu Grayson
  • The Hardys say that Aussie Open are on their radar and want to try to take the titles from them right before All In
  • Sammy Guevara def. Jon Cruz by pinfall in a brief squash match
  • Nyla Rose cuts a brief promo saying she needs to remind everyone who she is and that she’s been here from the beginning
  •  Hikaru Shida and Skye Blue def. The Outcasts (Toni Storm and Ruby Soho) by pinfall
  • After the main event, The Outcasts beat up the victorious Shida and Blue, but Baker sprints to the ring to even the odds, and the show ends with referees trying to separate the four women who will fight for the title in London

AEW Dynamite 200 results: New champion crowned to end anniversary show

Get full details on the special AEW Dynamite 200 show, including a new champion and the arrival of an ECW Original.

It’s a little trite to say “I can’t believe it’s been 200 episode of AEW Dynamite,” but for real, it is actually a little hard to fathom. Not only in a “time flies” sense, though that is part of it, but just overcoming the odds of starting from nothing except some of the best non-WWE talent and plenty of Tony Khan’s willpower and money, turning that into a strong No. 2 promotion on the North American wrestling scene.

While the company has added pay-per-views and additional weekly programming in the form of Rampage and Collision, Dynamite has been one of the constants throughout. It’s turned Wednesday nights into appointment viewing for many wrestling fans, and has produced a number of memorable moments.

Perhaps tonight’s 200th episode of AEW Dynamite from Tampa might cook up a few more. There’s certainly every opportunity, from a pair of championship matches to an Anything Goes three-way dance to The Elite (fresh off confirming they will remain All Elite going forward) in trios action.

Chris Jericho will take on some of his own teammates in what could be a pivotal fork in the road for the Jericho Appreciation Society. Jack Perry will continue to show he’s a Really Bad Guy now, and we’ll hear from AEW World Champion MJF.

Plus there’s been word that matches for All In will start to be announced tonight. That would be ideal considering the show is now less than a month away, and while it’s not unusual for AEW to book right up to the last minute, spreading the word on what to expect on its biggest card ever might not be a bad idea.

We’re psyched to see what’s in store on AEW Dynamite 200, and are raring to go with live updates.

AEW Dynamite 200 results:

Chris Jericho and Konosuke Takeshita def. Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara by pinfall

Jericho has no qualms about taking it right to his JAS colleagues, just as Garcia has no qualms about doing his dance right in Jericho’s face. It doesn’t stop him from being the one on his team to take the extended beating, as Jericho and Takeshita are working together nicely.

Guevara eventually gets a hot tag and clears the ring, diving to opposite sides to hit both of his opponents. He Frog Splashes Takeshita as well, but Jericho makes the save.

Fans are chanting for Garcia now, but just when it looks like he has Jericho in real trouble, Don Callis hits him in the head with Jericho’s bat. Chris looks unhappy but covers Daniel anyway and gets the three count.

Tony Khan thanks fans and the staff members that have made 200 episodes of Dynamite possible. A package of highlights over the years is shown with tons of good stuff.

Renee Paquette tries to catch up with Jericho for comment, but Matt Menard reaches him first and informs him that there will be a mandatory Jericho Appreciation Society meeting next week, and Chris will be there.

Tony Schiavone finds his mic quickly taken by Jack Perry, who calls out Jerry Lynn to “take this ass kicking like a man.” He says he won’t go teach Perry a lesson because it would constitute “child abuse.” Lynn also knows he’s past his wrestling days, but he called one of his friends from the ECW days … Rob Van Dam! And he’s even got “Walk” as his music.

Perry wants no part of RVD and flees into the crowd, at one point even acting like he’ll use a small girl as a human shield. He’s a bad guy, you see.

Trent Beretta def. Penta El Zero Miedo and Jon Moxley by pinfall in an Anything Goes match

You want trash cans? You got ’em. Also a 2×4 wrapped in barbed wire. Alex Abrahantes isn’t above getting tables into position on the floor, and it’s Moxley who goes through them thanks to a Beretta superplex.

More tables are set up inside the ring, which is bad news for Beretta as he takes an Avalanche Destroyer through one of them. Here come thumbtacks too, neat.

Penta takes a piledriver into the tacks from Mox but kicks out, only to be slammed back first onto them. More ridiculous violence ensues with tacks and a trash can involved.

Mox hits a Paradigm Shift on Penta, but Trent send him flying with a knee shot and covers Penta to get the win.

After the bell, Mox wants to keep fighting, and his Blackpool Combat Club teammates are coming to his aid. Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy enter the fray as well, with Taylor eventually running Claudio Castagnoli off with a chair while Cassidy hits an Orange Punch on Moxley.

Taylor notes that the three-way accomplished nothing, so Best Friends challenge the BCC to a parking lot fight at Daily’s Place on Rampage.

RVD tells Paquette that he is here because Perry was running his mouth, and he wants to challenge Jack for the FTW Championship next week.

An emotional MJF says he wants to have a serious talk with the fans in the arena and at home. The champ says he has ADD and also Rejection Sensitivity Disorder. We’ll have the Wrestling Junkie intern look up whether that’s a real thing.

(Editor’s note: It is.)

MJF recalls being bullied as a kid and evolving to believe he needed to stab people in the back before they did it to him. He says getting people to boo him is easy but being vulnerable is hard. Alas, MJF claims he’s not scared of opening up any more because of the fans.

Though it will be hard to stop being a scumbag (his words) cold turkey, MJF says he’s ready to be “your scumbag.” He also credits Adam Cole for showing him how to open his heart, and he calls his “best friend” to the ring.

Cole obliges and praises the man that Max has become. Adam says the people adore him and want to cheer for him.

As much as he loves the flowers, MJF called Cole out to discuss the title match he promised him. Not just any match, though, “The Match”: a championship bout in the main event of All In at Wembley Stadium.

Cole eagerly signs the contract he was offered, and they hug while joking about who will win.

Backstage, Roderick Strong loses it while seeing it play out and gets a visit from The Kingdom.

The Elite (Kenny Omega and Young Bucks) def. Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett and Satnam Singh by pinfall

Height differences are fun, and Singh just towers over Matt Jackson while Omega and Nick Jackson jokingly act like they won’t be tagged in to face the big man.

Some foolishness breaks out after a picture-in-picture segment, with Karen Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, Brandon Cutler and The Hardys all getting involved. Jarrett wants to use his guitar too, but Hangman Adam Page arrives with a Buckshot to prevent it.

Lethal ends up eating the One-Winged Angel, and the good guys win.

Hangman reiterates the big news that The Elite has re-signed with AEW. Omega says we’ll be seeing more of them … heck, even on Collision.

AR Fox says he turned on Darby Allin because of his ungratefulness once he signed with AEW. But the Mogul Embassy takes care of its own, including casting Fox in his “new movie.”

To that end, Swerve Strickland and Fox pay a visit to Nick Wayne at his home training ring, which ends up going badly for young Nick. After bloodying Wayne, they force him to call Allin so they can threaten Darby that this is only the beginning.

Aussie Open def. El Hijo del Vikingo and Komander by pinfall to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship

The announcers frame this as hard-hitting vs. high-flying, and early on, it’s the aerialists who are getting the upper hand. Mark Davis of Aussie Open is only recently returned from injury, but he looks like he’s moving well.

Of course, no one moves as well as Vikingo. The only thing that can slow him is when he and Komander try simultaneous dives to the outside, only to get caught and smashed into each other back first by Aussie Open.

After side by side action, the luchadors recover nicely, walking the top rope for twin moonsaults to the outside. Both challengers fly for twin 450 splashes to Davis, but Kyle Fletcher breaks up the pin.

Alas, Komander ends up betting isolated, and the champs execute some nice tandem offense to put him away and retain their titles.

A highlight package shows the events on AEW Collision that have led to a Real World Championship bout between CM Punk and Ricky Starks this Saturday.

Hikaru Shida def. Toni Storm by pinfall to become the new AEW Women’s World Champion

These two know each other well and their physical styles are very complementary. Shida has a little more aerial flair to her arsenal, and she dips into it several times in a row for near falls while Saraya looks concerned on the outside.

Ruby Soho is out there too, providing the assistance to give Storm an opening for a DDT and hip attack. Shida kicks out, though, and the match continues.

A clash of strikes ends with Shida scoring with a knee strike, then a Falcon Arrow for another two count. Saraya slides a kendo stick into the ring, and Shida almost uses it before realizing that would get her DQed. Soho gets a shot instead, but as the ref gets rid of the weapon, Storm sprays Shida in the face with spray paint and hits Storm Zero … but Shida kicks out and reverses Storm’s next attack into a pin, holding on to become AEW Women’s World Champion for the second time.

AEW Dynamite 200 preview 08/02/23: A milestone night in Tampa

AEW Dynamite is having an anniversary episode but fans will be getting the gifts in the form of a loaded card in Tampa.

AEW has reason to celebrate tonight in Tampa. It’s the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite, a remarkable achievement for a pro wrestling company that only sprang into existence four years ago and came of age during the COVID-19 pandemic, circumstances that could have sunken the promotion just as it was truly setting sail.

Instead, it’s weathered some ups and downs and is now flourishing. Yes, an argument could be made that it’s no longer the hottest thing in the U.S. market thanks to its resurgent competition, but with AEW Collision doing well on Saturday nights and All In on the horizon as the biggest show in AEW history, there’s a lot to be happy about.

Thus, it’s only fitting that Dynamite 200 bring the goods, and the card looks like it will do its best. Three members of the newly re-signed Elite, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, will be in action taking on Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett and Satnam Singh. One of the big matches from last week’s show will spill over into a brand new form as Jon Moxley, Trent Beretta and Penta will all throw down in an Anything Goes match.

Title matches? Yessir. Toni Storm will battle Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship, while Aussie Open defends the ROH World Tag Team Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo and Komander.

We’re not quite done. Chris Jericho faces a potentially pivotal moment in his flirtations with Don Callis as he teams with Konosuke Takeshita to take on his own JAS teammates, Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara. And Jack Perry will go face to face with Jerry Lynn, plus MJF will get some mic time.

Sounds like a loaded show to us, plus there’s bound to be some look backs at the best of what Dynamite has given us through its first 199 episodes. Make plans to tune in to TBS at 8 p.m. ET tonight, or join us back here at the Junkie for live results.

AEW Rampage Championship Friday results 06/02/23: Title matches aplenty

See if any of the four titles on the line on AEW Rampage Championship Friday changed hands.

How’s this for a high concept hour of televised wrestling: four championship matches from three different promotions. Oh, and none of them are AEW titles up for grabs. That’s what AEW Rampage is offering this week.

Not what you see every week on this show, which is why it’s being billed as “Championship Friday.” And with talent from NJPW and AAA along for the ride as well, it’s going to be a very interesting and entertaining slate.

So let’s not waste any time and get right into the good stuff.

AEW Rampage Championship Friday results:

  • El Hijo del Vikingo def. Dralistico and Komander by pinning Dralistico to retain the AAA Mega Championship
  • Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett and company can’t believe they might be facing suspensions, but Mark Briscoe says Tony Khan promised there would be no suspensions because then they wouldn’t get the butt kickings they deserve … from Briscoe and Aubrey Edwards
  • Zack Sabre Jr. def. Action Andretti by submission to retain the NJPW World Television Championship
  • Willow Nightingale def. Emi Sakura by pinfall to retain the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship
  • Katsuyori Shibata def. Lee Moriarty by submission to retain the ROH Pure Championship …
  • … but after the match, Daniel Garcia came to the ring to confront Shibata, who simply stared him down and held the title over his head

AEW Dynamite results: Komander thrills but still falls to Jay White

Jay White takes a lot of high spots but still wins his AEW Dynamite debut.

Jay White is accompanied by his Bullet Club Gold mate, Juice Robinson. And if you thought he would talk less while he wrestles in the U.S., nope, he’s still as talkative as ever.

Shawn Spears is shown looking on as well as White treats Komander to some hard chops before the masked man outhustles Switchblade in the corner. Komander does some crazy rope work before hitting an inverted hurricanrana, but he finds no one home on a moonsault to the floor and gets dumped back first on the apron.

After side by side ads, White has managed to slow down his masked foe, who definitely doesn’t want to exchange chops with King Switch. Komander rallies with an acrobatic pinning predicament, but White kicks out and hits a solid clothesline.

White talks trash in the corner but sees Komander slip away. He’s got something crazy planned as he stretches White’s shoulder, and Switchblade gets dumped out to the floor.

A thrust kick returns White to the floor, and Komander does the full ring rope walk before he somersaults to the floor onto White. Spears gives that a 10. A Shooting Star Press connects, but Komander can’t cover right away and only gets two. A springboard Phoenix Splash follows, and White kicks out again.

White looks for Blade Runner but gets caught in a hold and has to counter his way out with a suplex. He spikes Komander with a vicious Blade Runner, and that’s enough to end it.

Robinson and Spears are getting into it, but Ricky Starks arrives to prevent any Bullet Club Gold shenanigans.

AEW Dynamite results: MJF, Sammy Guevara conspire against the other Pillars

Plus Jay White vs. Komander, a big women’s tag team match, Adam Cole and Chris Jericho face to face, and more.

Pittsburgh, where you at? AEW Dynamite rolls into the hometown of all things black and yellow, as well as Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., for two hours of action headlined by a “the Earth will shake” type of confrontation between two very muscular gentlemen.

One of those is Powerhouse Hobbs, current holder of the AEW TNT Championship. The other is Wardlow, the man Hobbs beat to get the title in the first place. As Jim Ross might say, this has the makings of a slobberknocker.

Also in action tonight is King Switch himself, Jay White. He’s already stirring up waves since arriving in AEW, what with beating down Ricky Starks and declaring a new, possibly-not-OK-with-the-original version of Bullet Club. But he is going to wrestle too, and he’ll do that in Dynamite for the first time against Komander.

Oh, and Baker isn’t sitting this episode out either, not by a long shot. She and AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter have about had enough of The Outcasts, so they’re going to try to do something about it by facing Ruby Soho and Toni Storm. Do they have an ace up their sleeves if Saraya decides to interfere? One would hope.

We’ll also get to see The Acclaimed in action with Daddy Ass against the Jericho Appreciation Society, Chris Jericho and Adam Cole will have a face-to-face showdown of some sort, and we’ll hear from FTR and The Elite. Lots of fighting, lots of talking about fighting. Which is just the way we like it, honestly.

All of it goes down on TBS at 8 p.m. ET, and in a change from most weeks, live on the west coast at that same time, 5 p.m. PT. If you can’t watch, please consider hopping back here for AEW Dynamite live results ’cause we’ll be serving them up all evening.

AEW Dynamite results from Pittsburgh:

(click on match results for more details)

  • “It’s not called the Sting Appreciation Society.” Darby Allin thinks Sammy Guevara is being held back, believes Jack Perry is part of a “hand-picked California clique,” and all the Pillars end up taking shots at each other, so MJF says Perry and Guevara will wrestle each other tonight as part of a “Pillars Tournament” to decide who gets a title shot at Double or Nothing

  • Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker def. Ruby Soho and Toni Storm by submission when Baker gets Soho to tap out to the Lockjaw
  • Wardlow tells Renee Paquette that he reached out to a Horseman to even the odds tonight, and Arn Anderson has some counsel for him
  • “Who’s gonna pay to see a promo from a bunch of amateurs?” Bryan Danielson appears on the big screen as a setup for the Blackpool Combat Club to attack The Elite, who get a hand when things look glum from Konosuke Takeshita

  • Wardlow def. Powerhouse Hobbs by pinfall to become the new AEW TNT Champion, then sees Christian Cage and Luchasaurus come to the ramp to stare him down
  • MJF offers Guevara a blank check to assure his spot in Double or Nothing, and he names his price and hugs on it
  • Jay White def. Komander by pinfall, and Ricky Starks arrives to help onlooker Shawn Spears fight off White and Juice Robinson
  • The battle for Mark Briscoe’s heart and soul makes unlikely allies out of Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett and FTR
  • “I think the real Chris Jericho is an insecure, fickle, stupid idiot.” Chris Jericho says he has “zero respect” for Adam Cole, who gives it right back to him, and The Outcasts come to neutralize Baker; a handcuffed Cole has to watch as Saraya beats Baker with a kendo stick

  • The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass def. Daddy Magic, Cool Hand Ang and Jake Hager by pinfall
  • Sammy Guevara def. Jack Perry by countout thanks to a cheap shot from MJF, who celebrates with Sammy in the ring afterward

AEW Dynamite preview, April 19: Hobbs vs. Wardlow, Jay White in action

A TNT Championship match and the Dynamite debut of King Switch are top reasons to watch this week.

AEW Dynamite rolls into Pittsburgh tonight for both the usual two-hour live show and a taping of Rampage — which is on Saturday night this week instead of Friday, thank to the NHL Playoffs.

Here are the top three things to watch for from the Steel City.

Powerhouse Hobbs defends the TNT Championship against Wardlow

Since winning the title in March, Powerhouse Hobbs has been a fighting champion, fending off challenges from both members of the Lucha Bros., among others. But now the man who he beat for the belt, Wardlow, has returned, and he’s made it clear he’d like it back.

Alas, Hobbs is unlikely to politely return it, so that means a “big, meaty men slapping meat” special. Someone please alert Big E.

Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker take on Ruby Soho and Toni Storm

Good guys need more friends. It’s one of our favorite adages here at Wrestling Junkie, as heel groups so often have the numbers game working in their favor. The Outcasts certainly have, even though they’re only a team of three.

Maybe AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker don’t need more than that. They’re clearly fed up with the villainous trio, and considering tonight’s show is in Brittsburgh, they’re going to want to show out.

Jay White makes his AEW Dynamite in-ring debut

AEW turned heads by signing Jay White when so many reports suggested WWE wanted him too. NJPW fans know very well how he can go between the ropes, but the US TV audience will get its first real chance this week.

Komander wasn’t exactly the first choice many would have expected for this spot, but he’s super talented and a highlight waiting to happen. This should be fun.

Everything else promoted for AEW Dynamite tonight

  • The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass go up against Daddy Magic, Cool Hand Ang and Jake Hager (and his hat) of the Jericho Appreciation Society
  • Chris Jericho and Adam Cole (bay bay) have a face-to-face confrontation
  • We’ll hear from FTR and The Elite, though probably not in the same segment

Opening Bell: Jay White makes Dynamite debut, Trish Stratus explains her turn

Get set for the week in WWE and AEW with Opening Bell: quick previews of Raw, SmackDown, Dynamite and Rampage.

Welcome to the Opening Bell, where we round up what’s been announced for WWE (Raw and SmackDown) and AEW (Dynamite and Rampage) programming for the week we’ve just begun.

WWE Raw preview – Monday, April 17, Simmons Bank Arena, North Little Rock, AR

Why, Trish Stratus, why?

That’s what many WWE fans want to know after the Hall of Famer ruined what appeared to be a perfectly good partnership she had going with Becky Lynch and fellow legend Lita. Was it just jealousy over not being part of the tag team champions, or was Trish simply following a precedent from way back? We’ll apparently hear directly from her mouth Monday on Raw.

United States Champion Austin Theory doesn’t need to explain himself at all, given that he’s on a roll that includes a big WrestleMania victory over John Cena. Talking might not be the best idea anyway against his opponent this week, Bobby Lashley. He’s more of an actions over words guy, and besides, they know each other well from previous clashes.

A match that was originally promoted for last week until travel gremlins struck will be back in North Little Rock too. Well, half of it, anyway. The Miz was going to face Matt Riddle last Monday, but now he’s going up against Seth Rollins instead. You decide whether that’s better or worse for the A-Lister.

Last and certainly not least, Brock Lesnar will be back on Raw this week as well. You may recall that Cody Rhodes challenged him to a match at Backlash after the Beast Incarnate decided to beat him down instead of tagging with him against the Bloodline. We’ll miss happy-go-lucky Cowboy Brock, but we’re definitely interested to see what this return to his more vengeful side holds. And Backlash needs a main event, so … yeah.

AEW Dynamite preview – Wednesday, April 19, Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh

Buckle up everyone. Jay White, a.k.a. King Switch, a.k.a. the Catalyst, a.k.a. one half of Bullet Club Gold, apparently, a.k.a. numerous other things, is ready to start making his presence known in AEW. That begins this week when he faces Komander in what looks like a fantastic Dynamite debut.

A championship will also be on the line in Pittsburgh between two large men who still have unfinished business with each other. Powerhouse Hobbs is looking to make the chapter in his book where he’s the TNT Champion a long one, but Wardlow wants that title back around his own waist. Something has to give — hopefully not the ring.

A big tag women’s tag team match is also on the slate. The Outcasts have been running roughshod for weeks, but now they’ve angered their two highest profile foes into a match. Can Ruby Soho and Toni Storm keep their winning ways going against AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker?

And that’s not all. When you tune in for Dynamite Wednesday, you can also expect:

WWE SmackDown preview – Friday, April 21, Value City Arena at The Schottenstein Center, Columbus, OH

O-hi-o, you’ve got championship matches incoming this week on SmackDown. Recently crowned Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez will try to make their first title defense a successful one when they face the challenge of Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.

Gunther has held his Intercontinental Championship a lot longer and fended off a number of different wrestlers with their eyes on his gold. He thinks Xavier Woods is a “goof,” but the last man standing in The New Day will try to show the Ring General he’s a serious threat in Columbus.

On top of those title bouts, there’s a tag team match that figures to be somewhat significant. Braun Strowman and Ricochet got laid out by the Viking Raiders, and they’re not likely to be in a forgiving mood when the two teams meet on Friday night.

AEW Rampage preview – Saturday, April 22, Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh (recorded on April 19)

Perhaps the most important thing to remember about AEW Rampage this week is that it’s not on Friday thanks to the NHL Playoffs. It will air on Saturday at 10 p.m. instead.

That’s pretty late on a different night, but AEW has a heck of a hook to try to get you to watch: El Hijo del Vikingo will defend his AAA Mega Championship against Dralistico. Yes, that’s an insane match to randomly throw on a show that’s on an unusual night, but don’t question it, just roll with it because it’s almost sure to be amazing.
