Kirby’s Dream Buffet comes out next week

Nintendo Switch owners can delve into Kirby’s multiplayer smorgasbord very soon.

Anyone still hungry after Kirby and the Forgotten Land from earlier this year can go up for seconds soon. Food puns are in vogue right now, sorry!

On Thursday, Nintendo announced that Kirby’s Dream Buffet is coming out on Aug. 17, 2022, exclusively through the Nintendo Switch eShop. We only learned of this game last month, so there’s been a speedy turnaround from the initial announcement to release. Honestly, it’ll probably end up being one of this month’s biggest releases.

Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a four-player competitive party game about gobbling up as many delicious strawberries as possible. It’s supposedly a lot like Fall Guys, only with multiple versions of our favorite pink puff battling for round supremacy. The goal is to keep eating, and whoever is chunkiest after crossing the finish line wins. Finally, there’s a competition specifically for those of us who love eating with no real-world waistline repercussions (everyone).

The overview trailer for Kirby’s Dream Buffet briefly explains game modes, including various races, minigames, and battle royale – watch out, Apex Legends. Check out the food fight for yourself below.

There doesn’t appear to be any pricing information for Kirby’s Dream Buffet yet. Going off of the promotional materials, though, it seems to be a budget release. However, that’s speculation on our part.

Kirby’s Dream Buffet brings delectable dishes to Nintendo Switch this summer

The pink puff returns for another magical multiplayer adventure.

Kirby has been having a magical year thus far, and the pink puff is bringing some friends along for an all-new delicious adventure.

On Tuesday, Nintendo surprise announced Kirby’s Dream Buffet – a 4-player Fall Guys-inspired party game that’ll arrive exclusively on the eShop this summer. It’s essentially a high-speed race with obstacles where everyone eats strawberries along the way. Scarfing down all that fruit causes your in-game avatar to grow in size and smack competitors away. Unlike the rest of us, Kirby burns through calories like it’s no big deal.

Watch the Kirby’s Dream Buffet announcement trailer below. Who would’ve thought he’d still be adorable in blue, yellow, and green shades!

It looks as though the biggest Kirby wins. Finally, a competition specifically suited to my own unique set of skills: eating and immediately regretting it.

While there’s no firm release date or pricing information for Kirby’s Dream Buffet yet, Nintendo is getting it out the door before fall. Considering it’ll only be available via the eShop, don’t expect it to be a massive title or anything like that.

The franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, with an enormous free concert going down in a few weeks. Then, of course, there’s Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which came out in March.

The Kirby 30th anniversary concert stream will be free

Here are some details regarding the pink poof’s upcoming musical special.

This year, Kirby turns 30 years old, and Nintendo is celebrating with a special musical concert that’ll stream online for free.

The Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Fest is happening on Aug. 11, 2022, at the Tokyo Garden Theater in Japan. Tickets are going up soon here, though the overwhelming majority of you reading this likely only want to watch the show online. Nintendo isn’t revealing what platforms will stream Kirby’s celebratory bash yet, but that information is coming soon.

“To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Kirby, a one-time-only music festival will be held featuring a large big band-style ensemble of 35 musicians performing in a variety of genres,” a statement on the event website reads. “This event is a musical event in which you can enjoy original medleys of songs from past titles in the series while reminiscing on your memories with them.”

There’s a teaser trailer with some banger tunes as well, which you can check out below.

The timing couldn’t be better with Kirby and the Forgotten Land coming out soon. There’s a demo out for that on the eShop right now that’s worth trying. If not for yourself, do it for Kirby — it’s his birthday, after all!

The 10 most exciting trailers and reveals from September 2021’s Nintendo Direct

Finally, Bayonetta makes a triumphant return.

Every time, without fail, Nintendo Directs exceeds fan expectations, and the September 2021 show was no different. Even if bits of today’s announcements accidentally leaked ahead of time.

Be it bizarre, wonderful surprises like Chocobo GP or crowd-pleasers like Bayonetta 3, there was a bit of something for everyone at this show. Though some of the biggest announcements, such as the last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter and a highly-anticipated Animal Crossing: New Horizons update, are set for a larger reveal at a later date, Nintendo fans were well fed by Thursday’s 40 minute showcase.

Much like the recent PlayStation Showcase, FTW’s Mary Clarke and GLHF’s  Kyle Campbell came up with a list of all the cool trailers that premiered during this Nintendo Direct.
