Kirby’s Dream Buffet comes out next week

Nintendo Switch owners can delve into Kirby’s multiplayer smorgasbord very soon.

Anyone still hungry after Kirby and the Forgotten Land from earlier this year can go up for seconds soon. Food puns are in vogue right now, sorry!

On Thursday, Nintendo announced that Kirby’s Dream Buffet is coming out on Aug. 17, 2022, exclusively through the Nintendo Switch eShop. We only learned of this game last month, so there’s been a speedy turnaround from the initial announcement to release. Honestly, it’ll probably end up being one of this month’s biggest releases.

Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a four-player competitive party game about gobbling up as many delicious strawberries as possible. It’s supposedly a lot like Fall Guys, only with multiple versions of our favorite pink puff battling for round supremacy. The goal is to keep eating, and whoever is chunkiest after crossing the finish line wins. Finally, there’s a competition specifically for those of us who love eating with no real-world waistline repercussions (everyone).

The overview trailer for Kirby’s Dream Buffet briefly explains game modes, including various races, minigames, and battle royale – watch out, Apex Legends. Check out the food fight for yourself below.

There doesn’t appear to be any pricing information for Kirby’s Dream Buffet yet. Going off of the promotional materials, though, it seems to be a budget release. However, that’s speculation on our part.
