The LA Kings (3-1-2) wrap up a 7-game road trip against the Vegas Golden Knights (3-2-1) at T-Mobile Arena Tuesday. Puck drop is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET (ESPN/ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kings vs. Golden Knights odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Golden Knights won 2-1 in 2023-24

The Kings have recorded back-to-back 4-1 victories over the Montreal Canadiens and Anaheim Ducks. This game in Las Vegas wraps up a wild 7-game road trip to begin the season. L.A. has cashed the Under in 4 of those 6 outings.

The Golden Knights suffered a 4-3 OT loss in Sunrise on Saturday against the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. After a 3-0-0 start, VGK is just 0-2-1 in the past 3 outings, while cashing the Over in 3 straight, and 5 of 6 contests so far.

Kings at Golden Knights projected goalies

David Rittich (2-1-0, 2.36 GAA, .891 SV%) vs. Adin Hill (2-2-0, 3.81 GAA, .851 SV%)

Rittich was the winning goaltender in this back-to-back wins in Montreal and Anaheim, bouncing back after allowing 4 goals on 14 shots in Toronto Oct. 16. He was pulled midway through the 2nd period in that game against the Leafs.

Hill has been shaky so far, allowing at least 3 goals in each of his 4 starts, and conceding at least 4 goals in 3 of those outings. On home ice, he has allowed 7 goals on 54 shots, but he benefitted from 12 goals of offensive support in those 2 victories.

Kings at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 4, Kings 3

Moneyline

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-145) are worth playing lightly as moderate favorites against the road-weary Kings (+120). L.A. has handled itself well in this road odyssey to start the season, but a trip to Vegas is a tough way to wrap things up, even if Hill has been a little on the giving side.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kings +1.5 (-210) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s just too expensive for a little bit of insurance.

If you were to include the Kings into a multi-leg parlay, it would be OK, but as a standalone wager it is just too expensive with not enough return.

PASS.

Over/Under

OVER 6 (+100) at even-money is a sound play.

Again, Hill has allowed 15 goals in just 4 starts so far, with the Over going 5-1 in 6 games for the Golden Knights. They have scored 3 or more goals in 5 of their outings, while allowing 4 or more goals 4 times.

The Kings have cashed low in 4 of 6 games, but the Over is 2-2 in the past 4 games, with the Kings allowed 14 goals in a 2-game span in Ottawa and Toronto Oct. 14-16.

Los Angeles Kings at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Los Angeles Kings at Vegas Golden Knights odds and lines, with expert NHL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Los Angeles Kings (45-23-10) travel to meet the Vegas Golden Knights (48-22-8) Thursday. Puck drop from T-Mobile Arena is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kings vs. Golden Knights odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Kings suffered a 3-1 loss against the Edmonton Oilers at home Tuesday. Los Angeles has 100 points, 3 points behind Edmonton for 2nd place in the Pacific Division, and 4 points back of VGK for 1st place. Both L.A. and Vegas have played 78 games, while Edmonton has played 79.

The Golden Knights won the 1st meeting of the regular season Oct. 11 by a 4-3 count in Los Angeles. The Kings have won the past 2 meetings, including the first battle at T-Mobile Arena Jan. 7. L.A. routed Vegas 5-1 as the total pushed at most shops.

Kings at Golden Knights projected goalies

Joonas Korpisalo (16-13-4, 2.84 GAA, .917 SV%) vs. Laurent Brossoit (4-0-3, 2.50 GAA, .918 SV%)

Korpisalo allowed just a single goal on 25 shots in a 4-1 win at Vancouver last time out, snapping a 2-game losing skid.

The losses in Edmonton last Thursday, and in Calgary last Tuesday, weren’t his fault, however, and he has allowed 2 or fewer goals in each of his 8 starts since being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets at the NHL trade deadline in early March.

Brossoit allowed 3 goals on 33 shots last time out in Minnesota, and he has picked up consecutive wins against the Wild in the home-and-home series to kick off the month of April.

Kings at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Kings 2

Moneyline

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-120) are a solid value on home ice in this crucial Pacific Division matchup.

The Kings (+100) want this win, and need it to have a shot at the Pacific Division. The margin between winning the division and finishing 1st, ending up 2nd and earning home-ice advantage in the first round, or finishing 3rd is very tight. This game will go a long way, and VGK will take a big step toward nailing down the division title.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kings +1.5 (-250) will cost you 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s just too much if you need a little insurance. If you like Los Angeles, just play it straight up as short ‘dogs on the road. I don’t, however.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 6 (-110) is the play in this huge game.

The Under is 4-0 in the past 4 games overall for the Kings, while cashing in 4 straight on the road, and 4 in a row against winning teams, too.

For VGK, the Under is 3-1-1 in the past 5 games against winning teams, while going 4-1-1 in the past 6 outings in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 (4 games in 6 days) situation.
