Two Lady Vols are finalists for USA Softball National Player of the Year.

Two Tennessee players have been named top-25 finalists for the USA Softball National Player of the Year award.

Kiki Milloy and Ashley Rogers were among finalists when the organization released the list Wednesday.

Milloy leads the NCAA with 18 home runs. She ranks first nationally averaging 0.45 home runs per game and runs per contest (1.48).

Milloy ranks fifth nationally in slugging percentage (.991) and seventh in stolen bases (31).

Rogers (13-1) has compiled a 0.75 ERA, ranking fourth nationally.

The graduate student pitcher has recorded 133 strikeouts, seven complete games and four shutouts.

She is second nationally in hits allowed per seven innings (2.54). Rogers ranks 17th nationally averaging 9.9 strikeouts per seven innings.

Tennessee softball run-rules Kentucky for series sweep.

No. 7 Tennessee (34-5, 13-2 SEC) defeated No. 17 Kentucky (25-13-1. 7-8 SEC), 15-1 in five innings, Sunday at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky.

With the victory, Tennessee earned a sweep pf the Wildcats.

Tennessee opened a 6-0 lead by scoring three runs in first and second innings respectively.

Kiki Milloy led off the game with a home run for the Lady Vols. Zaida Puni hit an RBI single and Rylie West drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.

McKenna Gibson hit a three-run home run in the second inning.

Gibson, who went 4-for-4 with three runs and six RBIs, hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Mackenzie Donihoo recorded an RBI with a sacrifice fly.

After the Wildcats scored in the fourth inning, Tennessee scored five runs in the fifth inning. Milloy hit her second home run of the contest and Rylie West had a two-run single.

Payton Gottshall (9-0) pitched a five-inning complete game for Tennessee. She allowed one run and one hit, while recording seven strikeouts.

Kiki Milloy honored as Tennessee Torchbearer

Tennessee softball player Kiki Milloy honored as Tennessee Torchbearer.

Tennessee softball player Kiki Milloy was awarded the Torchbearer award.

The Torchbearer is the highest student honor awarded by the University of Tennessee.

Torchbearers are seniors who served their alma mater with overall excellence and awarded for academic achievement and outstanding commitment to others as demonstrated by the student’s various activities and significant contributions to the university and the community.

“There are not enough words to express how proud we are of Kiki being named a torchbearer, and becoming the first softball student-athlete to receive the most prestigious honor awarded to a Tennessee student,” Lady Vols’ softball head coach Karen Weekly said in a press release. “Since the day she arrived in Knoxville, she has been a leader on our campus, in the community and for our softball program. She leads with character, compassion and integrity.

“This is the ultimate recognition of Kiki’s commitment to excellence in all that she does. We are so happy for her and her family and proudly celebrate with her.”

The Torchbearer was first awarded in 1931. Milloy is the 29th student-athlete to receive the honor and the first softball player awarded the Torchbearer.

Ashley Rogers pitches no-hitter versus Ole Miss

Lady Vols’ Ashley Rogers pitches no-hitter versus Ole Miss.

No. 7 Tennessee (18-1, 1-0 SEC) opened SEC-play with a 6-0 victory against Ole Miss (13-9, 0-1 SEC) Friday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Lady Vols’ graduate student and starter Ashley Rogers (6-0) pitched a no-hitter against the Rebels, who had only three players reach base in the contest. Rogers surrendered two walks and Tennessee had one error.

Rogers recorded nine strikeouts in seven innings. The win is Tennessee’s 13th consecutive.

The Lady Vols recorded three hits, all home runs.

Kiki Milloy hit a grand slam in the third inning. She went 2-for-3 with two home runs, five RBIs and two runs.

Tennessee scored its other run on a solo home run by Zaida Puni in the fourth inning.

Three Lady Vols earn preseason All-SEC softball honors.

Kiki Milloy, Ashley Rogers and Zaida Puni have earned preseason All-SEC honors.

Milloy recorded a .362 batting average, 53 runs, 71 hits, 15 home runs and 12 doubles in 2022. The senior outfielder earned second-team All-SEC honors and was a second-team All-American.

Rogers recorded 12 wins and a 2.01 ERA last season. She pitched seven complete games, four shutouts and three saves in 25 contests.

Puni recorded nine home runs and recorded 25 RBIs in conference games last season. She finished the season with 52 hits, 14 home runs and 53 RBIs.

Opening day for the Lady Vols is slated for Feb. 10 versus Howard. First pitch will take place at 6:30 p.m. EST in Clearwater, Florida.

Two Tennessee student-athletes have been named to the USA Softball National Player of the Year watch list.

Graduate student pitcher Ashley Rogers and senior outfielder Kiki Milloy were named to the list for a second consecutive year.

Both players earned All-America honors last season.

Rogers recorded 12 wins, a 2.01 ERA, three saves, seven complete games, four shutouts and 125 strikeouts in 2022.

Milloy recorded a .362 batting average, 15 home runs, 53 RBIs, 53 runs, 71 hits, 12 doubles and a .673 slugging percentage last season.

The Lady Vols are projected to finish second in the Southeastern Conference coaches preseason  poll. Opening day for the Lady Vols is Feb. 10 at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Florida.

Tennessee outfielder Kiki Milloy went 1-for-2 for Team USA in its 9-2 victory against Canada Friday in the Canada Cup.

Team USA scored in each inning. Team USA led 2-0 in the first inning.

Team USA scored one run in the second inning and two more in the third inning for a 5-0 advantage. Team USA scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Lady Vols’ Nicola Simpson pitched two innings for Canada. She surrendered four runs and four hits, while recording one strikeout.

Simpson surrendered four home runs to Team USA. Team USA finished the contest with 12 hits.

Lady vols’ Kiki Milloy hits three-run home run in Canada Cup.

Lady Vols’ outfielder Kiki Milloy hit a three-run home run for Team USA in its 9-1 victory against Aussie Spirit Thursday in the Canada Cup.

Milloy, an All-American for Tennessee, went 1-for-3 against Aussie Spirit.

Aussie Spirit led 1-0 in the third inning before Team USA took a 4-1 advantage in the bottom of the frame.

Team USA added five more runs in the fourth inning. Milloy culminated the inning with a three-run home run.

Milloy started 59 games for the Lady Vols in 2022.

The Woodinville, Washington native led Tennessee with a .362 batting average. Milloy recorded 15 home runs, 31 stolen bases and 53 RBIs.

As a junior, Milloy totaled 21 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI contests.

Tennessee outfielder Kiki Milloy recorded two hits and scored four runs in a doubleheader Wednesday for Team USA in the Canada Cup.

In Wednesday’s first game, Team USA defeated the Czech Republic, 13-0.

Milloy went 2-for-3 with a home run and one RBI.

Team USA scored six runs in the first inning. The contest ended after the fourth inning due to the tournament’s run rule.

Team USA defeated Chinese Taipei, 13-0, in four innings.

Milloy went 2-for-2 with one run, one RBI and two walks.

Team USA scored all of its runs in the second and third innings. Team USA scored eight times in the second inning and adding five more in the third.

Lady Vols’ outfielder Kiki Milloy recorded three hits and two RBIs for Team USA Monday in its 11-1 victory over Korea in the Canada Cup.

The contest ended after four innings.

Milloy went 3-for-3 with a double and scored three runs.

The game was tied, 1-1, after the first inning before Team USA took a 2-1 lead in the third inning. Team USA scored nine runs in the fourth inning.

Milloy was named second-team All-America by D1Softball following the 2022 season.

She started 59 games for Tennessee last season.

Milloy led the Lady Vols with a .362 batting average. She hit 15 home runs, 53 RBIs, 15 doubles and 31 stolen bases.
