One of the best linebackers in the 2025 recruiting class just happens to play in LSU’s backyard.

[autotag]Keylan Moses[/autotag] is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound, four-star linebacker from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he plays for University Lab High School. The University Lab Cubs are currently 7-1 this season with only two regular-season games left.

If his last name rings a bell, that is because Moses’ brother is former Alabama linebacker [autotag]Dylan Moses[/autotag]. Keylan has had an offer from LSU since June 6th, 2021. As of now, he holds offers from pretty much every Division I school in the country.

Moses has set his commitment date for Nov. 30, and LSU is considered the favorite by a wide margin.

The Tigers are a 96% favorite to land him per On3 and LSU has received multiple crystal balls to land him on 247Sports. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and his staff currently have five commitments for the 2025 recruiting class.

Blue-chip Bayou State LB sets game day visit with Florida

The list of recruits planning on attending the Razorbacks game continues to grow.

Florida football is nearing the midpoint of its regular season schedule but the weekly action has not slowed down Billy Napier and Co. when it comes to prioritizing recruiting. The Gators have hosted a myriad of prep prospects at their home games so far and look to continue that trend moving forward.

Among those planning to make the trek to the Swamp to see some gameday action is four-star linebacker/athlete [autotag]Keylan Moses[/autotag] out of Baton Rouge (Louisiana) University Lab in the 2025 recruiting class. The 6-foot-1.5-inch, 215-pound bayou product recently revealed his plans to attend an upcoming SEC matchup.

“I know for sure Iā€™ll be at the Arkansas game,” he told Gators Online. The Gators will host the Razorbacks on Nov. 4 and will wear their all-black uniforms for the gridiron grind.

The Orange and Blue are not the only program courting the coveted recruit, with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, LSU Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Volunteers and Texas Longhorns joining Florida as the top eight schools courting Moses. However, the Gators seem to be making some strong connections with the high school junior.

ā€œHonestly, I love Florida,ā€ he admitted on Monday. ā€œTalking to guys like coach (Cannon) Gibbs and coach (Jay) Bateman weekly makes the relationships and love grow more and more.

ā€œConsidering Iā€™m trying to lock in on the season, if I lived closer, Iā€™d definitely be at more home games. They just make it feel as home, and also considering their staff is predominately from Louisiana makes it even better.

ā€œIā€™d say they definitely sit up pretty high my recruitment and continue to get higher and higher every visit. I definitely canā€™t wait to get back up there.ā€

Despite the difficulties the distance plays in making it down to Hogtown, the multi-talented prep has already visited campus several times during Naiper’s tenure, including two previous times in 2023. His November stop will be his first-ever live game in the Swamp.

Moses is ranked No. 158 overall and No. 15 at the athlete position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him as a linebacker who is also ranked at Nos. 158 and 15, respectively.

LSU currently holds a crystal ball prediction from 24Sports while On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine agrees with a near-lock of a 95.1% chance of signing him. Florida is second in the latter list with just a 1.2% probability of landing the coveted student-athlete.

No. 1 linebacker in Louisiana includes Vols in top eight

Tennessee is one of eight schools for the No. 1 2025 linebacker in Louisiana.

Four-star linebacker Keylan Moses announced his top eight schools on Friday.

Tennessee, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas, Florida State, Alabama, Oregon and Florida are Moses’ top eight schools.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker is from Louisiana State University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Moses is the No. 157 overall prospect and No. 15 linebacker in the class of 2025. He ranks as the No. 1 linebacker and No. 3 player in Louisiana, according to On3 industry rankings.

Moses earned second-team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honors as an all-purpose player. He earned first-team All-Metro, All-District and All-State. honors.

Moses’ brother is former Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses. He played for the Crimson Tide from 2017-20.

2025 four-star ATH felt at home while visiting the Swamp

Billy Napier’s staff has plenty of connections to the state of Louisiana, which is helping with the recruitment of 2024 four-star athlete Keylan Moses.

University Lab (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) athlete [autotag]Keylan Moses[/autotag] made his third trip to the Swamp last weekend, arriving in town Thursday, June 22, and leaving on Saturday, according to 247Sports.

The extended visit allowed Moses to build on the relationships he’s developed with key staff members over recent months. Inside linebackers coach Jay Bateman has been his primary point of contact at UF, and Moses says that Corey Raymond is a cousin of his. Of course, Moses got some one-on-one time with head coach Billy Napier, which went over well.

Moses also got a chance to meet the team’s new defensive coordinator, Austin Armstrong, for the first time. The Gators see him playing WILL linebacker, as opposed to the MIKE, which Moses says he’s not partial to. Finding the right fit can mean a lot for recruits, especially if there’s more perceived playing time at one school than another.

Right now, the Gators are doing well with Moses, but they’ll have to do a lot more to lock down the consensus four-star recruit.

“I would say they have been in the big picture from the start and up till now. This is my third time being here. I really like the campus and really like the people. Half their staff is from Louisiana, so basically it’s like a home that’s aways from home, but it’s still home.”

The On3 industry ranking has Moses at No. 118 overall and No. 11 among linebackers in the class of 2025.

LSU making 2025 4-star athlete Keylan Moses an early priority

Moses ā€” the younger brother of former No. 1 recruit Dylan Moses ā€” attends University Lab High School on LSU’s campus.

The 2025 cycle is still nearly a year away from kicking into high gear, but there’s one player the Tigers really do not want to miss out on in that class, and he’s in their own backyard.

Four-star linebacker/running back [autotag]Keylan Moses[/autotag] ā€” younger brother of former Alabama linebacker and No. 1 overall recruit Dylan Moses ā€” attends University Lab High School in Baton Rouge, which is literally on LSU’s campus.

Moses ranks as the No. 63 overall prospect in the country and No. 3 player in the state of Louisiana, per the 247Sports Composite.

The Tigers missed out on the elder Moses, but it seems coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] has no intention of going 0 for 2 with the Moses brothers. Keylan told On3’s Billy Embody (subscription required) that he feels like he’s been made a priority for LSU’s 2025 class.

He’s been hosted by the program several times, and though he hasn’t taken a visit yet in 2023, he’s expected to attend the Tigers’ Junior Day on March 4. Still, Moses says he is frequently visited by the coaching staff at his school. He also praised Kelly’s recruiting prowess, calling him “confident.”

Moses holds a Crystal Ball to LSU from 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, which was placed on Nov. 7, and the Tigers are the heavy favorite on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 94.8%.

There’s certainly still time for things to change, but LSU seems to be in a good spot to close things out with one of the top players on its board in 2025.
