Kevin Demoff highlights 3 young players the Rams are excited about

The Rams are going to lean on their young players, for better or worse.

After seemingly going all in two years ago with the additions of Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh and Brandin Cooks in the same offseason, the Los Angeles Rams have taken a more conservative approach in the last two offseasons. They watched Rodger Saffold, Lamarcus Joyner and Suh eave in free agency a year ago, and this offseason, they lost Cory Littleton, Dante Fowler Jr. and Michael Brockers, among others.

Their less aggressive plan lately has a lot to do with the repercussions of making so many bold moves in the first two years of Sean McVay’s tenure. Now, it’s time for the Rams to lean on young players they’ve drafted and get top-level play from their biggest stars.

COO Kevin Demoff recently appeared on ESPN LA 710 and discussed the Rams’ quiet offseason, attributing it to the team’s confidence in its younger players such as Darrell Henderson, Micah Kiser and Ogbonnia Okoronkwo.

“We always knew when we took a more aggressive strategy beginning in 2017-2018 when Jared Goff’s contract came up that there would have to be one offseason where you’re a little bit more disciplined to kind of get back in line and to make sure that what we think is our window to compete stays open for a very long time,” Demoff said. “I think we could’ve moved some resources around this year to push some salary cap pain off into the future. But when Sean and Les (Snead) looked at this roster, a lot of young guys they’re excited about to compete. While you’re always saddened to lose a Todd Gurley, there’s a lot of excitement about Darrell Henderson and what he did last year and what his future looks like. The chances for a Micah Kiser – who had a great preseason last year – to step up at the inside linebacker position. Obo on the outside. I think there are a lot of young guys who we’ve been counting on the last few years, who we’ve been developing who will be part of this roster moving forward.”

The Rams dug themselves into a hole with the contracts they gave out to Gurley, Goff and Brandin Cooks, none of which have paid off up to this point. They were forced to eat $20.15 million in dead money by releasing Gurley, which could’ve been used to retain a player such as Littleton or Brockers.

It’s easy to see the logic of signing those three core players when the Rams did, but the contracts have hindered the Rams’ flexibility with the salary cap. And now they’re paying for it.

Much of the 2020 season will hinge on the play of their younger players such as Henderson, Kiser and Okoronkwo. If they can’t meet expectations and fill the voids left by Gurley, Littleton and Fowler to at least a small degree, the Rams are going to be in trouble.

But, they’re at least going to give those guys a chance to prove their worth after struggling to make an impact early on in their careers.

Look: Kevin Demoff teases anxious fans with red and blue Rams hat

Kevin Demoff continues to have way too much fun playing with fans’ emotions.

The Rams haven’t said when they’re going to reveal their new colors, logo or uniforms, presumably because COO Kevin Demoff is having too much fun trolling fans in the lead up to the big release. He’s teased fans on Twitter with sarcastic replies, hinted that the Rams won’t be keeping the blue and yellow color scheme and made fun of the navy, white and gold uniforms they wore in 2017.

Now, he’s taking the trolling to another level. At a fan event this weekend, Demoff wore a red and blue Rams hat. A fan shared a photo on Reddit showing off Demoff’s cap.

Demoff is clearly having a ton of fun playing with fans’ emotions, even if it’s frustrating to some. Patience is key in this situation, however, because it shouldn’t be long before the Rams pull back the curtain on at least one aspect of their rebrand.

Demoff has already said the new jerseys will be available at SoFi Stadium in July, so at the very least they’ll be out by then.

Rams made a hilarious TikTok video trolling fans asking about uniforms

Kevin Demoff can hear you, but he won’t give anything away.

Every Rams fan across the country is anxiously awaiting the big reveal of the team’s new uniforms. The Rams haven’t said when that unveiling will happen, but COO Kevin Demoff said they’d be available at the stadium in July – so they’ll be released before then.

Until the team pulls back the curtain, though, fans will be badgering Demoff, beat reporters and the Rams’ official account on Twitter about any and all news regarding the uniforms. The Rams are well aware of the anticipation surrounding the news, and they’ve responded with a hilarious TikTok video.

They shared this in response to the tweets Demoff has been getting from fans asking about the redesign.

Demoff has been trolling fans about the new uniforms for weeks, engaging with them on Twitter. He’s had sarcastic and funny replies, giving almost no hints as to what the team’s new logo, colors and uniforms will look like.

He did share some insight on the process this week, though, almost ruling out the possibility of the Rams keeping their throwback uniforms as their primary look.

Kevin Demoff’s Twitter thread gives insight on Rams’ uniform plans

Kevin Demoff all but ruled out the Rams keeping the throwback look for their uniform redesign.

Rams fans everywhere are looking for even the slightest hints and clues as to what the team’s plans are regarding their upcoming uniform redesign. The Rams have said very little, other than the fact that it’s going to be a modern take on the team’s history.

A lot of fans have been calling for the Rams to simply keep their current look with the royal blue and yellow throwback uniforms, but with Nike involved in the process, that always seemed unlikely.

Rams COO Kevin Demoff has been active on Twitter engaging with fans about the redesign, and on Monday night, he all but ruled out the Rams keeping the blue and yellow throwbacks as their primary uniforms. He once again used the term “modernize” when discussing the memories fans have watching the team wearing blue and yellow.

The reasoning for the Rams not wearing their throwbacks full-time in 2020 is that the franchise has made so many changes to their uniforms over the years, unlike teams like the Packers, Steelers and Bears. As a result, the Rams want to establish a new era with a different look.

It’s hard to disagree with that thought process, considering the team moved back from St. Louis to Los Angeles in 2016 and is opening a brand new stadium this summer. Even if fans would be content with the Rams continuing to wear their current uniforms, the higher-ups in the organization likely want to capitalize on the opportunity that comes with opening a new stadium and introducing new uniforms.

Demoff was also asked by a fan to share his thoughts on a number of the Rams’ past (and concept) uniforms, hoping to get a clue out of the COO. Demoff ruled out two fake uniforms and the hideous navy, gold and white look, but said he has “fondness for all of the other” combinations.

Demoff ensured his followers that the redesign is about what fans want, not just what the organization or Nike are hoping to accomplish. That’s reassuring for those hoping the team doesn’t make drastic changes, since most fans have been calling for only minor tweaks to the current look.

Soon enough, we’ll all know what uniforms and colors the Rams will be wearing next season and for (hopefully) many years to come. But for now, we wait – and look for any hints given out by Demoff in the process.

Rams COO Kevin Demoff is trolling fans over new uniforms on Twitter

Demoff isn’t giving away any clues, and is trolling fans in the process.

We don’t know what the Rams’ new uniforms will look like, but it’s safe to say they’ll be a huge upgrade over the team’s awful navy look from 2018. Against the Jaguars and Cowboys two seasons ago, the Rams wore their navy jerseys with gold numbers, which immediately got them roasted on Twitter.

Combining those jerseys with white pants and their navy and white helmet was a bad look, and even Rams COO Kevin Demoff admits how ugly they were.

Someone on Twitter asked him if a fan could lose his or her personal seat license if they’re caught digging through the trash at the Rams’ headquarters looking for clues on the new uniforms. Demoff replied with a punishment he believes is worse than that.

Yeah, you’d probably be making the same face Jared Goff is.

Fans have been repeatedly asking Demoff for clues on the new uniforms, colors and logo, but he’s not giving anything away. Some Rams fans believe he hinted at navy and yellow being the primary colors with this tweet, but he later said it wasn’t a clue.

He trolled everyone again by saying the Rams could frost Sean McVay’s cake with the team’s new colors for his 34th birthday this week.

And when someone asked for a sneak peek at the redesign, this is all he gave them.

He did share some good news, however. He told fans that the Rams will have a team store set up at SoFi Stadium in July for them to buy the new uniforms, so they’ll be released before then.

As far as when exactly the new jerseys will be released, that’s a different story. It’d make sense for them to be unveiled before the 2020 draft, though, which takes place from April 23-25.
