There are two big availability downgrades on Friday for Kentucky football

Maxwell Hairston and Gerald Mincey were both downgraded to questionable on Friday.

Throughout the week, SEC teams are required to submit availability reports, designating any player with an injury with either Out, Doubful, Questionable, or Probable. Quarterback Brock Vandagriff was added to the report on  Thursday, listed as probable.

On Friday, an updated availability report from Kentucky downgraded two Wildcats starters, and it could have a huge impact on the game.

Cornerback Maxwell Hairston and tackle Gerald Mincey are both now listed as questionable for Saturday’s game. That means they have a 50% chance of playing against the Georgia Bulldogs.

The absence of either, or both, of those players would be a blow to any hopes Kentucky had of keeping the game close.

Hairston is the team’s best cornerback, and started the season on the preseason watch lists for both the Jim Thorpe Award and the Bednarik Award. If he misses the game, it will certainly aid Georgia quarterback Carson Beck.

Mincey starts at right tackle for the Cats, and on an offensive line that was beaten up last week, they can’t afford more missing players. Guard Jager Burton is already listed as out.

The Wildcats will update the availability report on Saturday, before the game against top-ranked Georgia.

The updated Kentucky availability report lists Brock Vandagriff

Quarterback Brock Vandagriff is listed as probable on the latest availability report.

On Wednesdays this college football season, teams are required to submit an availability report, listing players with any sort of injury, and their probability of playing. Kentucky football sent out an updated report on Thursday, with a surprising name on it.

Quarterback Brock Vandagriff showed up on Thursday night’s report, with a designation of “Probable.” It seems as if it’s not anything serious, but it’s notable, and something to monitor.

The first report of the season includes 13 names, with various designations. Players can be listed as Probable, questionable, doubtful, and out, with percentage chances of playing being 75%, 50%, 25%, and 0% respectively.
