A former walk-on, Solomon earned his scholarship in November during the 2019 season. He played in 11 games during his freshman campaign, notching an interception against Chattanooga.

Solomon will continue to be a piece of Tennessee’s cornerback depth and a consistent member of the Vols’ special teams unit.

Tennessee defensive back making debut with track team.

CLEMSON — Tennessee defensive back Kenney Solomon will be spending time away from football this spring, as he prepares for his season debut with the Tennessee track team against Clemson.

Solomon is a former walk-on that earned a scholarship from Jeremy Pruitt after coming on as part of the 2019 class.

Known as a speedster, Solomon was a three-star recruit from South Carolina that came to Knoxville with a 40-time of 4.45 seconds. After earning his scholarship in November, Solomon appeared in 11 games, largely on special teams for the Vols.

At Socastee High School in South Carolina, Solomon finished runner-up in the 100-meter and 200-meter at the South Carolina 5A track and field meet.
