  • Money line: Kansas State +180 (bet $100 to win $180) | Baylor -213 (bet $223 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Kansas State +5.5 (-110) | Baylor -5.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 45.5 (O: -115 | U: -106)

Kansas State at Baylor: Three things to know

  1. Kansas State took a 45-0 drubbing from Iowa State last week and was down 35-0 at halftime. Everyone who took the Wildcats getting 13.5 points was able to get on with their day a little earlier.
  2. Baylor had last week off but lost to Texas Tech 21-20 the week prior by a game-winning field goal as time expired. The Bears blew an 11-point lead heading into the fourth quarter and lost as 1-point favorites.
  3. Both programs have entered a new chapter recently as Baylor replaced former head coach Matt Rhule this season with Dave Aranda, and Kansas State is in its second season with coach Chris Klieman at the helm following a 27-season run by Bill Snyder. For what it’s worth, Baylor has won back-to-back meetings.

Kansas State at Baylor: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Baylor 21, Kansas State 19

Money line (ML)

Kansas State’s offense has gone into the witness protection program the past three weeks and Baylor is getting closer to winning—a single-point loss at Texas Tech last week and an ATS win in a straight up loss at Iowa State on Nov. 7.

Based on these prices, I’d rather bet against Baylor than on Kansas State. But, I am not in the market for either team’s money line in this spot. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

It’s weird Baylor is laying 5.5 points. I don’t see it. Kansas State has been a solid ATS team this year (5-3 ATS) and the underdog is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 Kansas State-Baylor games. Admittedly, BetMGM is more dialed into Big XII football and/or probably saw something I didn’t.

Since I’m on the Under (see below), I’ll default to the simple logic of taking an underdog with a low total and lean Kansas State +5.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 45.5 (-106) is the only play on the total. I’d like it a little more if we bet the Under before it was steamed up; the total opened at 47.5.

However, this is a quintessential pros versus joes in the total betting market: 86% of the money is on the Under, but 58% of the bets placed are on the Over.

You could make a case that both defenses are pretty good, but it’s a certainty that both offenses are terrible. Neither team can run the ball—Kansas State is 94th in yards per rush and Baylor is ranked 11th—and the weather forecast is saying rainy and windy conditions Saturday. That doesn’t bode well for the passing games, which are almost as bad as each team’s rushing attack.

My main concern is that maybe this seems too easy? The Under is 5-2 in the last 7 Kansas State-Baylor meetings. But, I’ll take my chances betting against these crappy offenses in bad weather.

GIMME UNDER 45.5 (-106) for 1 unit.

Previewing Friday’s Colorado Buffaloes at Kansas State Wildcats sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Colorado Buffaloes (1-0, 0-0 Pac-12) and Kansas State Wildcats (0-1, 0-0 Big 12) meet at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kan., Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Colorado-Kansas State college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Colorado at Kansas State: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:20 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Colorado -263 (bet $263 to win $100) | Kansas State +215 (bet $100 to win $215)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Colorado -5.5 (-121) | Kansas State +5.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 133.5 (O: -115 | U: -106)

Colorado at Kansas State: Three things to know

  1. Colorado opened the season on K-State’s floor, pushing past South Dakota by an 84-61 count. The Buffaloes led by 14 points at halftime, and went on to easily cover the 17-point number as the Over (142.5) just came across the finish line. G McKinley Wright IV was a beast, going for 20 points, 6 assists and 2 steals while knocking down two-thirds of his shot attempts.
  2. Things didn’t go according to play for K-State, as it was dumped 80-70 by Missouri Valley Conference member Drake; the Bulldogs won outright as 4-point underdogs. The Over (133.5) was never really in question, as the teams combined for 74 points in the first half and 76 in the second.
  3. F Kaosi Ezeagu was a bright spot in the loss, as he swatted 3 shots, while F Antonio Gordon grabbed 7 boards. G Mike McGuirl also chipped in with 22 points, but the Wildcats were unable to avoid the upset at home.

Colorado at Kansas State: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Colorado 72, Kansas State 69

Money line (ML)

Colorado (-263) looked pretty good in the opener against an underrated South Dakota side from the Summit League but playing against K-State, even one which lost its opener, is a different animal, especially on the home floor of the Wildcats. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

KANSAS STATE +5.5 (+100) isn’t going to lose both of its first two games on home court in its own tourney, is it? I think Colorado pulls it out in the end, but I like the Wildcats catching the points as long as they can cut down the turnovers. They gave it away 14 times against Drake, to just 8 turnovers for their counterparts.

Over/Under (O/U)

The lean is to the OVER 133.5 (-115) ever so slightly. Kansas went for 70 points in the opener and allowed 80. Colorado dropped 84 on USD in the opener, so both of these teams can fill up the basket in short order.

Kansas State at Iowa State odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Kansas State Wildcats at Iowa State Cyclones sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Kansas State Wildcats (4-3, 4-2 in Big XII) play the conference’s first-placed Iowa State Cyclones (5-2, 5-1), at Jack Trice Stadium. The kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Kansas State-Iowa State college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The Cyclones are No. 16 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Kansas State at Iowa State: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 9:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Kansas State +375 (bet $100 to win $375) | Iowa State -500 (bet $500 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Kansas State +12 (-110) | Iowa State -12 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 47.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Kansas State at Iowa State: Three things to know

  1. Kansas State has lost back-to-back games, including a 20-18 home loss to Oklahoma State its last time out (Nov. 7), following a four-game win streak. The Wildcats covered the spread against the Cowboys to push their ATS record to 5-2 on the year.
  2. Iowa State struggled out the gate in its last game, going down 14-0 in the first quarter, but ended up beating Baylor 38-31. The Cyclones failed to cover as 14-point home favorites.
  3. Kansas State’s defense smothered Iowa State in last year’s meeting. The Cyclones had just 236 total yards and 10 first downs in their 27-17 loss at Kansas State.

Kansas State at Iowa State: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Iowa State 26, Kansas State 17

Money line (ML)

It’s hard to see Kansas State (+375) pulling off an upset given the uncertainty of who will be available for this game.

There isn’t a high enough return on investment on Iowa State (-500) to warrant a play. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

This is what sports betting in 2020 is all about. I have no idea who on Kansas State is playing, the coach isn’t giving us many clues and there’s even a chance the game is canceled.

If we are going to get money down on either side, I’ll lean to Kansas State. The Wildcats are 11-1 in their last 12 games against the Cyclones and 7-1 ATS in their last eight Big XII games. Kansas State covered in the one game it lost to the Cyclones (2018), which was a ranked Iowa State team.

The peak of Kansas State’s season was going into then-No. 3 ranked Oklahoma and upsetting the Sooners on Sept. 26. If the Wildcats can duplicate any of that form, or if Iowa State comes out sluggish, 12 points is too big of a number to cover. The Cyclones are 1-5 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite.

Again it’s only a lean but I’d have to take KANSAS STATE +11 (-110) if I was forced to take a side.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total has moved from the 50.5 opening number down to its current price. According to Pregame.com, 68% of the money wagered and 78% of the total bets are on the Over yet the total is moving down. Hmm.

Maybe the market has Kansas State information I don’t or it’s the temperature dipping below 40 degrees in the evening or it’s Kansas State starting a true freshman at quarterback QB Will Howard. Either way, something is moving the number.

We could be arriving at the party a little late but I’ll still TAKE UNDER 47.5 (-110) for 1 unit.

Oklahoma State at Kansas State odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Oklahoma State Cowboys at Kansas State Wildcats sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-1, 3-1 Big 12) and Kansas State Wildcats (4-2, 4-1) meet in Manhattan, Kan., for a 4 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday. Below, we analyze the Oklahoma State-Kansas State college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The Cowboys are No. 12 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. The Wildcats received 64 points, five spots outside of the Top 25.

Oklahoma State at Kansas State: Betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 8:13 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Oklahoma State -455 (bet $455 to win $100) | Kansas State +350 (bet $100 to win $350)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Oklahoma State -12.5 (-106) | Kansas State +12.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 45.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Oklahoma State at Kansas State: Three things to know

  1. OK State was bumped from the ranks of the unbeaten, the last team to suffer a defeat in the Big 12, when it lost 41-34 in overtime to Texas last week in Stillwater. It was also the first non-cover for the Cowboys since Sept. 19 against Tulsa in the regular-season opener.
  2. K-State is also coming off a loss, as it was humbled at West Virginia 37-10 as a 5-point underdog. That snapped a 4-0 ATS run for the Wildcats, and the 10 points scored marked a season low. Their previous worst was 21 points in a seven-point victory at TCU on Oct. 10. This loss was their first since falling to Arkansas State in the Sept. 12 opener.
  3. The Wildcats are averaging 39.0 PPG in three games in the friendly confines of Bill Snyder Family Stadium, and 23.0 PPG in three road contests so far this season.

Oklahoma State at Kansas State: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Oklahoma State 27, Kansas State 16

Money line (ML)

Oklahoma State (-455) was in the top 10 and sailing along until last week’s hiccup against the ‘Horns. Don’t expect a two-game losing streak, although risking more than four and a half times your potential return isn’t good gambling. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

KANSAS STATE +12.5 (-115) usually plays Oklahoma State tough, regardless of the records. The Cowboys are just 2-7 ATS in the previous nine meetings in this series, and 2-5 ATS in their past seven trips to Manhattan, too. In addition, K-State has covered six of its past seven conference tilts, and is 11-5 ATS in the past 16 at home.

Over/Under (O/U)

If you’re a frequent reader of my previews, you’ll know I’m not a fan of playing college football Unders in the 40’s. However, sometimes there are exceptions to be made. Play the UNDER 45.5 (-110) in this Big 12 matchup. The Under is 15-5 in K-State’s past 20 at home, and 17-5 in its past 22 as a home dog. The Under is also 5-2 in OK State’s past seven road trips, and 5-2 in the past seven inside the league. More important than trends, however, OK State is run-first. Running rags the clock, and is a friend to Under bettors. This won’t be your typical Big 12 shootout, as the Cowboys control the time of possession.
