I’ll PASS on the moneyline in this game as Baylor is favored at home over Kansas. Taking the Bears to defeat the Jayhawks in Week 8 isn’t worth taking due to the little return you’ll receive if Baylor wins.

Against the spread

KANSAS +9.5 (-110) is where I’m going in this game as both teams could have backup quarterbacks starting. Baylor has lost some close games in recent weeks, but they’ll escape with a close win against a Big 12 foe.

The Jayhawks are 6-0-1 ATS this season and they are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 conference games.

Over/Under

Big 12 games tend to have plenty of scoring and I believe that will be the case again between Kansas and Baylor this week. OVER 58.5 (-112) still feels like the ideal choice in this game despite the chances that neither team has its starting quarterback available.

The Jayhawks and the Bears are a combined 8-5 to the Over this season.

But the way Kansas played in that game at UT should give it confidence to hang close in this test in Waco.

The Jayhawks haven’t played since Tuesday when they lost 75-70 at Oklahoma State. Kansas was undone by nine Cowboys threes in the game, and being dinged by distance shots is a trend of late for Kansas. Over its last four games, Kansas opponents are shooting 40.7% from beyond the arc. That four-game stretch includes two losses.
Baylor’s impressive start to the season has included the Bears averaging 87.3 points per game (sixth NCAA-I). It has also included — up until their last game (Saturday at Texas Tech) — the Bears earning double-digit wins over every opponent. Saturday, BU beat TTU 68-60. BU fares well both inside and outside and in getting points off turnovers and offensive rebounds.
