Thursday Night Football picks and prop bets: A genuinely meaningful Chiefs-Chargers game? On Thursday night?

The AFC West may be decided on a Thursday night. Wild.

The fate of the AFC West may be determined in Week 15. And it may be determined in the very spot the NFL typically reserves for throwaway Jacksonville Jaguars games.

Thursday Night Football will host a marquee matchup with major playoff implications when the Los Angeles Chargers play host to the Kansas City Chiefs. The game is a lens to provide clearer sight on several different questions.

Is this Chiefs team a worthy successor to the two-time AFC champions that preceded it? Was the Kansas City defense able to fix itself, in season, without any major additions?

Should the Chargers be taken seriously as contenders, or are they hanging around just long enough for their self-sabotage to be entirely devastating to a jaded fanbase, as tradition dictates? Is Justin Herbert ready to join the NFL’s protected class of elite quarterbacks?

That last question could decide whether Los Angeles takes over first place in the division in hopes for its first West title since 2009 or whether the status quo remains unchanged. We’ve got a game that could shape the road to the Super Bowl in Week 15, and we’re getting it on a Thursday night. Sometimes the Football Gods shine upon us.

Let’s talk about their bounty. All odds via Tipico.

K.C. handled business at home with a 22-9 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football in Week 13. The defense was the difference-maker for the Chiefs. It held Denver to just 4-for-14 on third downs and 1-for-3 in the red zone while winning the turnover battle 3-1.

Looking at Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs Week 11 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

Sunday afternoon in Week 11 of the NFL gives us what many believe could be a Super Bowl preview. The Dallas Cowboys (7-2) face the Kansas City Chiefs (6-4) on the road. Kickoff is 4:25 p.m. ET at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Below, we look at the Cowboys vs. Chiefs odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Cowboys, who lost 30-16 to the Denver Broncos in Week 9, bounced back Sunday with a 43-3 shellacking of the Atlanta Falcons, a revenge game for Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who was head coach for the Falcons from 2015-2020. QB Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another, while the defense held the Falcons to only 214 yards.

The Chiefs played Sunday night and blew out the Las Vegas Raiders 41-14. QB Patrick Mahomes threw for 406 yards and five touchdowns. It was their third-straight win. After throwing at least one interception in seven straight games, Mahomes was not picked off for the second game in a row.

First look: New Orleans Saints at Tennessee Titans odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s New Orleans Saints at Tennessee Titans Week 10 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Tennessee Titans (7-2) host the New Orleans Saints (5-3) Sunday for their Week 10 showdown at Nissan Stadium. The kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Saints vs. Titans odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

New Orleans fell to the Atlanta Falcons Sunday 27-25 as a 7-point home favorite. The Saints rallied back from a double-digit, fourth-quarter deficit to take a lead with 1:01 left before Falcons QB Matt Ryan marched Atlanta down the field for a game-winning field goal as time expired.

It was Saints QB Trevor Siemian’s first start of the season. He completed 25 of 41 passes for 249 yards with a 2 TD:0 INT ratio but just an 18.5 QBR. Backup QB Taysom Hill made his return after missing a few weeks with an injury but only attempted two passes and one run.

Tennessee upset the Los Angeles Rams 28-16 as a 7-point road underdog thanks to an impressive defensive effort. The Titans held the Rams to 4-for-15 on 3rd-down attempts and 1-for-3 in the red zone. They were plus-1 in turnover differential, which included a pick-six by S Kevin Byard in the first half.

This was Tennessee’s first game without All-Pro RB Derrick Henry who was sent to the IR after having surgery on his injured foot. Despite winning, the Titans’ offense did very little against the Rams. Tennessee only averaged 3.5 yards per play with fewer than 200 passing yards and 100 rushing yards.

Saints at Titans head-to-head

Coincidently, Henry all missed the last Saints-Titans meeting with a hamstring injury back in Week 16 of 2019. New Orleans won that game 38-28 as a 3.5-point road favorite.

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill completed 17 of 27 passes for 270 yards and a 3 TD:0 INT ratio. Saints RB Alvin Kamara gained 80 rushing yards on 11 carries with 2 TDs. WR Michael Thomas, who has sidelined with an injury this season, caught 12 balls for 136 yards and 1 TD.
