Panthers at Chiefs: Game notes
- The Panthers are coming off a 25-17 loss at home against the struggling Atlanta Falcons in a Thursday game in Week 8. They’re on a three-game slide after a three-game win streak. The Panthers enter on a 3-0 ATS run on the road, however.
- The Chiefs powered past the New York Jets by a 35-9 score in Week 8, covering a 20-point number. They have won and covered three in a row since a 40-32 home loss against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5.
- Kansas City ranks fourth in the NFL in total yards (410.5), fourth in passing yards (286.4) and tied for second in points scored (31.6) per game. Defensively, the Chiefs are 10th in total yards (344.0), third in passing yards (201.3) and third in points scored (19.0) per game.
- Chiefs RB Le’Veon Bell struggled against his former team last week, posting just seven rushing yards on six attempts, and he has just 46 rushing yards on 12 attempts in his two games with the reigning champs.
- The Panthers are 4-0 ATS in their past four as underdogs, while the Chiefs are 9-1-1 ATS in their previous 11 at home and 4-0-1 ATS in their previous five against teams with a losing overall record.

Panthers at Chiefs: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
Chiefs 37, Panthers 20
Money line (?)
The Chiefs (-556) should easily push past the Panthers (+420), even as the Cats get McCaffrey back for the first time since Week 2 due to a high-ankle sprain.
Risking more than five and a half times your potential return is just not good gambling, though. AVOID, and look to the spread.
Against the spread (?)
The CHIEFS -10.5 (-110) will have their hands full against a Panthers team which will be energized with the return of its biggest star. Still, Kansas City is at home and will be able to do enough to win this one by at least two touchdowns.
The Panthers are just middle of the road in total yards allowed at 357.4 per game, and they’ll struggle with QB Patrick Mahomes and this high-octane offense.
Over/Under (?)
OVER 52.5 (-110) is a strong play, as the Chiefs rank second in the NFL with 31.6 points per game, and they’ll be able to make life miserable for the Panthers D, which was dismal last Thursday against the Falcons.
The Chiefs have allowed 142.8 rushing yards per game, the Achilles’ heel of this D, and McCaffrey and company will be able to add to those uneven numbers. They won’t win, or even come close, but Carolina will be able to put points on the board before Kansas City pulls away in the second half.
