Giants announce personnel and scouting staff changes

The New York Giants announced several changes to their personnel and scouting staff, including the promotion of a new national scout.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the New York Giants and two scouts — Steven Price (pro personnel) and D.J. Boisture (West Coast) — were parting ways.

That left two positions open for the Giants to fill and general manager Joe Schoen did exactly that while announcing several other changes on Wednesday.

Marcus Cooper, who spent the last five seasons as an area scout for the team, has been promoted to national scout. Prior to joining the Giants, Cooper spent seven years with the Buffalo Bills.

Cooper was previously honored at The 2nd Annual ITL Bart List Awards.

Meanwhile, Blaise Bell, who spent the past three seasons as the Giants’ BLESTO scout, has been promoted to area scout. He will be replaced by Justin Markus, who spent last season as a player personnel assistant.

Finally, Marquis Pendleton has been named a pro scout. He spent last season as an area scout in the northeast after serving as the team’s BLESTO scout for four seasons.

No other changes or hires were announced but more could be on the horizon in the coming weeks and months.
