Chargers social media posts bizarre AI poem about Justin Herbert

To commemorate Valentine’s Day, Chargers’ social media shared a bizarre poem about Justin Herbert.

Valentine’s Day is one of the most anticipated holidays of each new year for couples everywhere, but in the age of artificial intelligence, the Los Angeles Chargers’ social media team managed to turn the celebration into something a bit more… unsettling.

Popular AI chatbot ChatGPT has been all over social media as users interact with it to elicit responses on any number of topics. When the Chargers’ social media crew asked it to write them a poem about quarterback Justin Herbert, the results didn’t disappoint.

The classic “roses are red, violets are blue” opening left something to be desired, and the weak rhyme of “life” with “life” in the second stanza seemed a bit on the nose, but for a chatbot, the poem wasn’t half bad, even if it might’ve been a little bizarre. Chargers’ social was clearly smitten with the composition and immortalized it in the above Twitter post for posterity.

Kellen Moore expresses excitement over joining Chargers’ coaching staff

Kellen Moore left no doubt about his excitement to join the Chargers in his introductory press conference on Wednesday.

The Chargers hired Kellen Moore to fill their offensive coordinator role this week. Moore spoke to the media on Wednesday in his introductory press conference with the team.

Among other things, Moore clarified that he seeks to be a pivotal figure in the Chargers’ success for years to come and laid out his strategy to revolutionize Los Angeles’ offense. He praised the staff that head coach Brandon Staley has put together ahead of the 2023 season and made a point to let reporters know how he feels about his new role.

“Brandon [Staley] and I have been able to talk through this over the course of the last few days,” Moore explained. “I just love the way he really likes this offensive staff. Every interaction that Iā€™ve had, Iā€™ve really enjoyed. Iā€™m really excited to work with these guys.

“Iā€™m really excited to work with this group. It sounds like a fun, interactive, collaborative group. Certainly, weā€™ll go through the process from a quarterbacks coach standpoint. Thatā€™s the one thatā€™s available right now. Weā€™ll go through that process together and find what suits our team best and, certainly, what suits [QB] Justin [Herbert] best.”

Based on Moore’s comments, it seems like most of the offensive staff will stay in place. But there is an opening for the quarterbacks coach position, a void left by Shane Day. Additionally, with an emphasis being placed on the run game, the Chargers could look to hire a run game coordinator.

Moore’s top priority with the Chargers will be finding a way to best utilize Herbert’s skillset as one of the NFL’s most promising young quarterbacks. Paired with Moore’s innovative offense and a roster chock-full of talented veterans on his side of the ball, Herbert could be in for the best season of his career in 2023.

Justin Herbert says Chargers will use Wild Card loss to Jaguars as ‘fuel for next year’

Justin Herbert wasted no time in refocusing on next season after the Chargers’ Wild Card loss to the Jaguars.

There is nothing that anyone could say to a Chargers fan to alleviate the sting of the team’s Wild Card loss to the Jaguars after they blew a 27-point lead in their first playoff game since 2018.

But quarterback Justin Herbert did his best in comments to the media following the Chargers’ utter collapse.

When asked if the disappointing result hurt more because the game was his playoff debut, he said that he and his teammates are keeping their eyes on the future and will use the loss as motivation rather than wallow in the pain of the brutal loss.

“Yeah, it’s really tough because we think really highly of our team and that’s a special group of guys in that locker room,” Herbert said. “They deserve better and it didn’t go our way and that’s the unfortunate part. Guys put everything they had into it this year, especially this game, and you hate to see it go that way.

“But I know that everyone in that locker room who comes back is going to use this one for fuel for the next year, and they’re excited to get back to work. Definitely tough to process, but got to keep it going and use this one as fuel.”

Overall, Herbert put together another relatively strong season, surpassing 4,000 passing yards for the third consecutive season, throwing for 25 touchdowns and finishing with a career-low ten interceptions.

Herbert’s leadership in the face of adversity is admirable. Still, even his sage words won’t be enough to satisfy the Chargers’ loyal fans, who, like the players the quarterback referenced, deserve better.

Justin Herbert sets Chargers single-season record for passing touchdowns

Justin Herbert was born to be great.

Pure greatness.

Justin Herbert threw a bomb to Mike Williams for a 45-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, which had a very significant meaning.

In only his second professional season, Herbert passed Philip Rivers for most touchdowns in a single season by a Chargers quarterback with 35.

Additionally, Williams earned 1,000 receiving yards on the season.

Relive QB Justin Herbert’s phenomenal performance to propel Chargers past Raiders

Justin Herbert was lights out on Thursday night.

What more can you say about Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert?

Herbert has been on a tear since taking over as the team’s starter back in Week 2, and he continued his dominance on Thursday night in Los Angeles’ overtime win over the Raiders.

On a night when both wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams were out for the majority of the contest, Herbert still looked like a veteran, finishing with 314 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Along the way, Herbert tied tied Baker Mayfieldā€™s rookie record for touchdown passes in a season with the 26-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Tyron Johnson right before the half.

For the second week in a row, Herbert guided the team to victory on the final drive. Herbert’s deep pass to WR Jalen Guyton was able to set up his rushing touchdown, snapping the Bolts’ divisional losing streak.

Good opportunity for Chargers QB Justin Herbert to get back on track vs. Falcons

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was bad in Week 13 against the Patriots, but he gets a great matchup in Week 14 against the Falcons.

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is having quite the rookie season, as he’s made history and is on his way to shattering more NFL records ever since he took over as the starter back in Week 2.

However, he’s experienced some growing pains the past two performances, failing to complete 60% of his throws and has tossed three interceptions in that span. Last weekend against the Patriots, Herbert failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in his career of 11 games.

The offensive line, of course, is to blame, as Herbert has had very little time to throw. The play-calling has been mediocre, as well. But opposing defenses, particularly New England and Buffalo have done a great job at scheming against him.

Nonetheless, Herbert has a great shot at coming back to life this upcoming Sunday, facing a Falcons defense that has been poor against the pass, allowing the second-most passing yards per game. They also have one of the lowest interception percentages in the NFL.

Heading into this week, Herbert has completed 64.8% of his passes for 3,224 yards and 23 touchdowns, against just nine interceptions. If you own the former Oregon product in one of your fantasy football leagues, I advise you to start him this weekend.

Chargers HC Anthony Lynn, players reap high praise on QB Justin Herbert

The sky is the limit for Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert.

It’s only been four games, but quarterback Justin Herbert has shown that he’s the answer at the position for the Chargers for many years to come.

Herbert’s play on Monday night was what kept the team Los Angeles alive in their 30-27 loss to the Saints, as he tossed four touchdowns – the most ever by a rookie on Monday Night Football.

Herbert did this while missing three starting offensive linemen and wide receiver Keenan Allen and running back Austin Ekeler.

ā€œI thought the kid did some good things,ā€ coach Anthony Lynn said on Herbert.

Herbert was pressured on 20 of his 38 dropbacks last night, per Pro Football Focus. However, he overcame being under duress.

While he still managed to make some great things happen in bad situations, Lynn noted the poor performance from the offensive line.

“My quarterback was running for his life,” Lynn said.

The 22-year old leads the NFL when pressured in adjusted completion rate and efficiency.

Three of Herbert’s touchdowns went to wide receiver Mike Williams and tight end Hunter Henry, with the other going to WR Keenan Allen.

After Allen left the game with a back injury, Herbert resorted to Williams, where the two connected five times for 109 yards, including a deep bomb for 64 yards.

“I just told him trust me. Thatā€™s the main thing I tell him every day. ā€˜Trust me, bro. It may not look sweet, just throw it up. Iā€™ll go get it,'” Williams said.

Herbert also leaned on Henry, targeting him eight times. The 25-year old tight end, like the majority of the population, believes the future is bright for Herbert, and knows the team now has to back him up in order to help capture his first professional win.

“The kid is a stud. Great player. I just hate for him. He still hasnā€™t gotten his first win as a starter, but the kid is playing out of his mind. We all need to be better for him. Pick him up because heā€™s playing really, really good,” Henry said.

Watch: Chargers QB Justin Herbert’s best throws from loss to Buccaneers

Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert proved that he should remain the starter.

There were very few positives from the Chargers’ loss to the Buccaneers Sunday. Among them was rookie quarterback Justin Herbert.

Facing a stout Tampa Bay defense, Herbert was lights out. The first-round pick completed 80% of his passes while adding three touchdowns, all while missing wide receiver Mike Williams and running back Austin Ekeler.

Two of his three touchdown passes were to wide receiver Tyron Johnson and tight end Donald Parham, both of whom had not caught a touchdown pass in their careers.

All of his touchdown throws displayed Herbert’s biggest strength, his tantalizing arm strength. The former Oregon product made a few impressive passes while under duress, showing outstanding pocket presence.
