Top 2024 recruit to make decision first weekend of February

Florida will find out if they land this big-time talent on Saturday.

One of the top athletes in the 2024 class announced he will make his commitment decision on Saturday, Feb. 4, according to his Twitter account.

[autotag]Ju’Juan Johnson[/autotag], Louisiana’s fourth-ranked prospect according to On3, will decide between Florida, LSU and Colorado. The 5-foot-11-inch, 175-pound Lafayette, Louisiana, native recently took an unofficial visit to Gainesville. The timing of Johnson’s visit is interesting. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU has a 92% chance to land Johnson’s services. Florida doesn’t even appear in the top four options.

With Johnson announcing his final three on Jan. 30, the recent visit to Gainesville could mean [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and his staff managed to make a late impression on Johnson.

While the graphic he tweeted out says Thursday, Feb. 4, he followed it up with a clarification that he will announce on Saturday.

Flipping Johnson would be a massive victory for Napier, both in the 2024 class rankings and in the perception of the Florida program. After the [autotag]Jaden Rashada[/autotag] debacle, the Gators’ recruiting and NIL operations reputations took a hit. Bringing in a Louisiana native a week before he’s expected to make his announcement and managing to get him out of the state would show the fan base, and the nation as a whole, that the Gators are a serious contender for the best prospects in the nation.

4-star Louisiana athlete set to commit on Feb. 4

Lafayette athlete Ju’Juan Johnson will decide between LSU, Florida and Colorado.

[autotag]Ju’Juan Johnson[/autotag] is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound, four-star athlete from the class of 2024.

He is from Lafayette, Louisiana, where he plays for Lafayette Christian Academy. The Knights finished the 2022 season 10-4 with a loss to St. Thomas More in the Louisiana 4A state playoffs.

As far as recruiting goes, Lafayette is right in LSU’s backyard. Only an hour away from Baton Rouge, [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and his staff have had a lot of chances to check out Johnson and try their best to keep him in the state of Louisiana.

The Tigers are currently a 92% favorite to land Johnson per On3, but Deion Sanders has been making moves at Colorado. He is a wildcard for any recruit right now. Kelly will have to compete with him and Florida head coach Billy Napier for the talented four-star athlete.

LSU’s 2024 recruiting class currently ranks as the No. 2 class in the country.

Coveted 2024 ATH to visit Florida football as part of busy January

This top-20 athlete in the 2024 class will visit Gainesville this month.

After including Florida in his final four, Louisiana native [autotag]Ju’Juan Johnson[/autotag] has announced that he will visit Gainesville on Jan. 14 as part of a busy month. The 5-foot-11-inch, 178-pound athlete will also visit Athens (Georgia) and Boulder (Colorado) in person before heading to Baton Rouge (LSU) in February.

The Lafayette Christian Academy standout was offered by the Orange and Blue on Dec. 27. He released his top schools the next day, with the Gators making the cut.

In his conversation with On3’s Corey Bender, Johnson said that Florida’s defensive backs coach [autotag]Corey Raymond[/autotag] is heading his recruitment. He says that the conversation centered around the University of Florida as a whole, his family and how he could contribute to the football program. Raymond’s track record of developing defensive back talent and putting them in the NFL is always a positive when discussing potential defensive back talent.

If the Gators are going to get Johnson to join the 2024 recruiting class, they will need to do an excellent job of convincing him to leave his home state. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, in-state LSU holds a significant edge in landing Johnson’s services with the Tigers’ odds set at 94.2%.

Blue-chip 2024 in-state athlete includes LSU in final 4

The Tigers will try to keep the Lafayette prospect close to home.

[autotag]Ju’Juan Johnson[/autotag] is a four-star athlete from Lafayette, Louisiana, where he plays for Lafayette Christian Academy.

One of the best recruits in the state of Louisiana is up for grabs, and per usual, [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] is all over it. The “Recruit the Boot” motto is in full swing for the Tigers as they have made the final four for the talented athlete.

The Tigers join SEC foes Florida and Georgia as well as the Colorado Buffaloes. Primetime has taken over in Boulder,  and as he has tweeted, he’s not hard to find. He has stormed the recruiting trail and has Colorado included in many recruiting battles that they would otherwise not be involved in.

There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for Johnson, but LSU is a 94% favorite to land him per On3. LSU currently has the No. 1 recruiting class for 2024 with eight commitments.

Gators land in top 4 for this 2024 4-star athlete

Florida has joined the race for 2024 four-star athlete Ju’Juan Johnson and quickly made his list of top colleges.

Just a day after Florida offered 2024 four-star athlete [autotag]Ju’Juan Johnson[/autotag], the Lafayette Christian Academy (Louisiana) product has included the Gators in his top four.

Colorado, Georgia and LSU are the other three schools Johnson is considering, and he spoke about each team with On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

“I’ve always liked Florida, it’s honestly the one I’ve been waiting on,” Johnson said. “It also helps that almost the entire staff is from Louisiana and Coach (Corey) Raymond is the Author of DBU with all of the DBs he’s helped develop to get to the next level. I feel like I could be his next one.”

It certainly sounds like Florida is in a good spot with Johnson, who quickly narrowed things down from a top 7 he released three weeks ago after picking up an offer from UF. Interestingly, Florida and Colorado were not part of that top 7 but were added in favor of Alabama, Penn State, Texas, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Although he plays quarterback for Lafayette Christian, Johnson’s athlete status and comments regarding Florida’s cornerbacks coach suggest he may move to the secondary once in college. Of course, Deion Sanders may have a similar influence on him as the new head coach of the Buffaloes. His speed and agility have teams thinking he could play receiver as well.

Johnson is ranked No. 195 overall in the class of 2024 on the On3 composite and is the No. 18 athlete in the class. He’s considered an LSU lean at this point with 94.2% odds to stay in-state, according to the service’s recruiting prediction machine.

2024 ATH Ju’Juan Johnson lists Alabama among top schools list

2024 quarterback Ju’Juan Johnson recently released his top schools. Alabama made the cut along with several other SEC schools.

Alabama has made a push to land 2024 athlete Ju’Juan Johnson. The product of Lafayette Christian Academy is one of the highest-rated players out of the state of Louisiana. Johnson recently listed Alabama as one of his top seven schools.

The Tide always welcome athleticism and speed to their roster. That is something that Johnson can bring to the table. He runs track for his high school and finished first in the 400-meters with a 50.87.

In the past, defensive coordinator Pete Golding has been able to pry Louisiana recruits away from staying home and attending LSU. It won’t be easy as Johnson is favored to land with the Tigers at 94.4% likelihood, according to On3’s RPM. We will have to wait and see if the Tide can gain some momentum in his recruitment.

Tigers offer 2024 athlete from the Boot

The Tigers are targeting the Lafayette prospect, who likely projects as a quarterback.

[autotag]Ju’Juan Johnson[/autotag] is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound athlete from Lafayette, Louisiana, where he plays for Lafayette Christian Academy. Johnson was on a Knights team that went 10-2 last season and had a second-round 42-7 playoff victory over the Newman Greenies (led by [autotag]Arch Manning[/autotag]). Johnson will be entering his junior year this fall and [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] will definitely be keeping an eye on him.

Film Analysis: I know he is listed as an athlete per On3 and 247Sports, but it looks like he’s a pretty good quarterback to me. The kid can absolutely sling it. He has great pocket presence and awareness and he can make any throw he wants to.
