Oklahoma will be adding guard Josh O’Garro for upcoming season

Oklahoma basketball made it official on Monday, announcing that Josh O’Garro will be going the team.

The guard/small forward out of Canyon Country, Calif. was initially a 2021 prospect, but after a reclassification, will be joining the Sooners for the upcoming season.

“Josh is a terrific young man that’s excited to be here,” said Kruger. “He’s an explosive athlete who will come in with the expectation of redshirting, working hard to get bigger and stronger. We’re really looking forward to him joining our program.”

According to Rivals, O’Garro is a three star prospect. His commitment moves Oklahoma to two, joining Tulsa guard Trey Phipps. 

“They have a great culture, it’s a great college town, I know it’s a great team and they produce great players,” O’Garro said to 247Sports. “The coaches are great people and have my best interests in mind.”

In the 2019-20 season, O’Garro averaged 17.6 ppg game, and was First Team All-State for California’s Divison II.

Oklahoma kicks off their season against Florida on December 2.
