LSU looks to avoid its first series sweep of the season on Sunday in Game 3 against Auburn after dropping Game 2, 8-6, on Saturday night.
The Tigers led 2-0, but the pitching started collapsing in the fourth inning, and it started with an ejection.
After issuing a walk to Ike Irish, LSU pitcher [autotag]Ty Floyd[/autotag] was charged with a balk. Umpires ejected Tigers assistant [autotag]Josh Jordan[/autotag] after he argued the call. However, according to a vague ejection call of “the guy in a gray shirt,” the wrong assistant was initially ejected.
Auburn coach Butch Thompson had words after this, and the whole situation descended into a debacle. The episode seemed to shake Floyd, who issued a single and three more walks in the inning as AU scored three runs.
After the game, coach [autotag]Jay Johnson[/autotag] offered clarity, though he said he still doesn’t know why Jordan was ejected.
Jay Johnson said they were told somebody in a "gray shirt" was ejected… LSU literally wore gray tonight. So they sent the wrong guy out of the dugout (Jamie Tutko), then found out it was Josh Jordan who had actually been ejected. He does not know what Jordan did to get ejected.…

It was a strange scenario that may have cost LSU on Saturday night, but it can’t dwell on that. Johnson’s team looks to take a crucial Game 3 on Sunday.
