Josh Allen and Sean McDermott made adorable snow angels after Bills’ snowy win

Snow angels for the win!

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and head coach Sean McDermott made adorable snow angels after Buffalo’s snow-filled win over the 49ers.

On Sunday, the Bills were basically playing backyard football against San Francisco. Anything the team wanted to do, it did, including a wild lateral touchdown pass where Josh Allen *technically* caught a pass to himself. (Yeah, it was THAT kind of night.)

Postgame, Josh and coach Sean McDermott celebrated the victory the only way it should be done. Sean was mid-interview with ESPN when Josh walked up and said, “Coach of the year” into his ear. Things quickly escalated once McDermott responded, “I wanna see an angel — a snow angel. C’mon. Let’s go!” The next moment, they were lying on the field. And BOOM. Perfect snow angels.

How Bills QB Josh Allen made NFL history in win vs. the 49ers

How Bills QB Josh Allen made NFL history in win vs. the 49ers

What a day for Josh Allen.

The Bills quarterback led his team to a 35-10 win over the 49ers in Week 13.

Not only did he wrap up the AFC East title in the victory, he grabbed more NFL history.

Allen had four touchdowns in the win. Allen, somehow, had two scores on one play.

When Allen threw a pass to receiver Amari Cooper and ended up rushing it in on a lateral, the QB made history. Allen became the first-ever quarter to have a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in one game.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen and head coach Sean McDermott let loose after their win over the 49ers.

The Bills (10-2) took a 35-10 win over the Niners (5-7) on “Sunday Night Football.” It was a winter affair and the Bills looked like they were at home in the snow compared to their foes.

That applied to after the game, too.

Following the win, the QB and coach jumped in the snow and did a few snow angels, enjoying the victory.

Check out those scenes in the clip below:

The Bills snowy dismantling of the 49ers proves they’ll never need a domed stadium

Sunday’s snow game win showed how the Bills thrive in chaos — chaos they’ll never give up.

This story has been updated because the doofus writer forgot the Bills’ updated stadium plans do not include a roof in Orchard Park.

The Buffalo Bills didn’t just beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night. They destroyed the reigning NFC champions.

The 49ers started hot with a field goal on their opening drive. From there, they were outscored by a robust 35-7 margin in a game that somehow didn’t feel as close as the final score indicates. A few different factors played a role in the win. Josh Allen continued to play like a Terminator stuck in beta testing. Trent Williams missed his second straight week. Christian McCaffrey left the game in the second quarter with a knee injury.

But one thing played a bigger role than any other in the Bills’ blowout win; a heaping dose of snow coming off Lake Erie in western New York.

The Buffalo offense and defense thrived in the chaos created by blizzard-like conditions. San Francisco could not keep pace. The Niners dropped passes. Their offense sputtered trying to run east and west on a night where only north and south-bound plays stood a chance. Kyle Juszczyk hadn’t lost a fumble since 2018, yet here he was, taking points off the board thanks to a Taylor Rapp punch-out.

San Francisco fumbled the ball three times and lost all three. Brock Purdy dropped back to pass 20 times for 86 net yards. Only one 49er had more than 20 receiving yards and the team’s lone touchdown came late in the third quarter after the Bills had already built a 28-3 lead.

Meanwhile, Buffalo luxuriated in its element. Sunday Night Football became a game of backyard shenanigans. James Cook ran with impunity (107 yards on 14 carries). The defense swarmed to the ball with minimal attention paid to the ice and snow at their feet. Allen found a way to score a receiving touchdown without technically registering a catch.

The Bills would still be a good team in a covered, climate controlled environment. They are 13-4 in domed stadiums since 2020. But they wouldn’t have the chaos factor in which they thrived Sunday night. The weather in Orchard Park is a burden for fans and staff but an advantage on the field.

That was the case in 2021, where Buffalo exorcised two decades of demons by starching Mac Jones and the New England Patriots in seven degree weather in the Wild Card round. It was a factor that helped limit Skylar Thompson to a 40 percent completion rate in a too-close playoff win over the Miami Dolphins in 27 degree weather a year later. The Bills are 5-2 at home in the postseason with Allen at quarterback, all played in frigid January temperatures.

Buffalo will remain very good at home in the foreseeable future, even as a new facility looms next to Highmark Stadium. While the new building looked at the costs of adding a dome, it ultimately was never considered. For good reason, too.

The Bills thrashed the 49ers in Week 13, in part, because they knew what to expect from unpredictable weather. They stuck to a simple plan and dismantled an overwhelmed opponent.

That element will remain part of head coach Sean McDermott’s playbook even once the new venue arrives. It will add more seats and luxury boxes while increasing ticket prices. But it won’t carve out the soul of the Bills’ game.

Few teams in the league are built to thrive against a backdrop of misery like the Buffalo Bills. They’ll be upgrading their stadium in the near future. They won’t be upgrading the field conditions, however. That’s a win.

Josh Allen threw a touchdown pass to himself on ridiculous Bills’ lateral play

Yes, really!

Josh Allen joined a very prestigious club during the Buffalo Bills’ Week 13 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Late in the third quarter, Allen became just the fourth NFL player in history to record a receiving touchdown on a pass he threw. Yes, really!

On Sunday night, the Bills put on a clinic in the snow against the 49ers, with the game being blown open thanks to some trickery between Allen and Amari Cooper. On first and goal, with the Bills leading 21-3 in the third quarter, Allen threw a quick slant pass to Cooper, who was bottled up by a 49ers defenseman. However, before the play was called dead, Cooper lateraled the ball back to Allen and the quarterback ran right into the end zone for the touchdown.

It’s already a ridiculous play — one which only happens thanks to the quick thinking of Cooper — and even more so thanks to the fact that Allen is credited with throwing the ball to himself for the score!

It’s truly a shame the NFL doesn’t have scoring like baseball or hockey, as Cooper really should have gotten an assist on this play on the scoresheet. But still, what a truly awesome play!

Josh Allen throws touchdown pass to Josh Allen with assist from Amari Cooper as Bills roll

Josh Allen threw a TD pass to himself with help from Amari Cooper

The Buffalo Bills were having fun in the snow Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

Already up 21-3 in the third quarter, Josh Allen threw a short pass to Amari Cooper. The wide receiver was being held up by SF defenders and saw his quarterback in front of him.

Cooper pitched a lateral back to Allen, who finished the play by hitting the pylon for the score.

The scoring had Josh Allen throwing a touchdown pass to himself. Yes, he threw a TD pass to himself. The box score shows Allen with zero receptions for seven yards and a TD.

After the PAT, it was 28-3 and the 49ers couldn’t get out of the snow fast enough. They had already lost Christian McCaffrey to a knee injury.

1st & Goal at SF 7
(5:58 – 3rd) A.Anderson reported in as eligible. J.Allen pass short left to A.Cooper to SF 9 for -2 yards. Lateral to J.Allen for 9 yards, TOUCHDOWN. T.Bass extra point is GOOD, Center-R.Ferguson, Holder-S.Martin.

Allen is the one of the few quarterbacks in NFL history to get a receiving touchdown on a pass he threw. Marcus Mariota was the last person to do it in 2018. Btad Johnson did it, too.

Now that was some touchdown.

The Bills got a ridiculous score from quarterback Josh Allen once again against the 49ers in Week 13. This time, receiver Amari Cooper played a big role.

In the red zone, Allen hit Cooper with a quick pass. It was a bit behind Cooper but he hauled it in despite the weather.

Cooper was then grabbed by several 49ers defenders but did not go down. The wideout noticed Allen nearby in the moment.

Cooper lateraled the ball to Allen, who went on to score. What a play. The touchdown put the Bills up 28-3 in the third quarter.

Will Hailee Steinfeld be at Josh Allen’s game for Bills-49ers on Sunday?

Will we see Josh Allen’s fiancée on Sunday?

Taylor Swift isn’t the only famous significant other of an NFL player.

Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld is dating Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen — and now they’re engaged!! — and even though we’ve seen only glimpses of the pair together, they’re a couple. And earlier in 2024, we saw Steinfeld cheer on Allen during a Monday night game.

Which brings us to this question: will she attend Sunday’s Bills game against the San Francisco 49ers?

It’s a home game, for what it’s worth, so maybe that helps, although there’s a ton of snow in the region. So maybe she’ll attend? We’ve seen no indication either way.

We’ll see!

Congratulations to Josh and Hailee!

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is an engaged man.

On Friday, Allen and fiancée Hailee Steinfeld shared an official engagement announcement on Instagram. The photo of the couple agreeing to spend their lives together is simply darling. Allen is down on one knee, with a ring box in his left hand, as he embraces Steinfield, who has put her forehead against his in a lovely gesture. But that’s not all. The landscape where the engagement took place is immaculate.

There’s a gorgeous flower arch behind the couple and several sand-filled vases and flowers consuming the grass. The scenery is then punctuated with the ocean just off in the distance. The pair captioned the photo “11-22-24” with infinity emojis to mark their engagement date. Congratulations to the happy couple!
