Watch: Stefon Diggs sets Buffalo Bills receiving mark on 50-yard TD

Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs for a 50-yard score

The Buffalo Bills are doing to New England what the Patriots have done to them for years: Tormenting.

The Bills are at 24 points and counting as Josh Allen found Stefon Diggs for a 50-yard touchdown play in the second quarter.

Allen had ideas of going deep but Diggs came open and the pass found the wide receiver, who did the rest.

The only mistake on the play was a stumble by Diggs as he reached the end zone.

On the play, Diggs became the single-season leader for Buffalo in yardage. He surpassed Eric Moulds, who had 1,368 in 1998.

With his Buffalo Bills leading 9-7, Allen found Stefon Diggs from 19 yards for a touchdown.

He followed that with a pass to Gabriel Davis in the end zone.

That made it 23 straight points for the Bills after the Steelers opened the scoring.

The second TD set a team mark for Buffalo.

Watch: Josh Allen digs into his bag of tricks for a completion to Stefon Diggs

Josh Allen is becoming must-watch television, and this completion to Stefon Diggs is one more reason why.

Josh Allen is playing like a league MVP, and in the process the Buffalo Bills quarterback is forcing people to throw out various rulebooks. Preconceived notions of quarterback evaluation, quarterback development, and the classic blunders need to be rethought given how well the young quarterback is playing right now.

One of those “classic blunders?” Never make a late throw falling down.

Consider that another classic blunder that Allen is forcing us to reconsider:

These are the kinds of plays that often result in turnovers. A throw late in the down, under pressure, made almost on a whim. But Allen somehow has enough to get this throw off, accurately, to Stefon Diggs. Even more amazing is that Diggs secures the completion and has enough time to prepare his body, spin away from contact, and actually pick up yardage after the catch.

Allen is playing at another level right now, and making everyone rethink the QB rules in the process.
