Kansas guard Joseph Yesufu reveals transfer destination

Former Drake and Kansas guard is heading out West.

[autotag]Kansas Jayhawks[/autotag] combo guard Joseph Yesufu entered the transfer portal for the second time in his collegiate career on Mar. 23.

After two seasons in a reserve role with the Jayhawks, the Illinois native has decided to head out west. The news was announced on Thursday by On3 that he would commit to the [autotag]Washington State Cougars[/autotag] for the 2023-24 college basketball season.

Yesufu will bring some national championship experience to Pullman, Washington. He played in 34 games during the 2021 national championship run with the Jayhawks. In two seasons playing for Bill Self, the unranked prospect from the 2019 class started just three games.

He averaged 3.1 points per game over the last two seasons in Lawrence, playing an average of 11 minutes per game. During the 2020-21 season with Drake, Yesufu scored a career high 12.8 points per game.

Wisconsin basketball reaches out to Drake PG transfer Joseph Yesufu

The Badgers reach out to a mid-major stud

Losing nearly the entire 2020-2021 rotation, Wisconsin basketball will need to look to the transfer portal for at least a couple of contributors.

The Badgers are interested in one of the best scorers in the portal, as Wisconsin reached out to Drake PG Joseph Yesufu according to Matthew Bain of the Des Moines Register.

Yesufu is receiving a ton of high-major interest after the sophomore averaged 12.8 points per game on a tournament team in Drake. He saved his best for the biggest stage, scoring 21 points against Wichita State in the NCAA First Four and 26 points against USC in the Round of 64.

Joseph Yesufu’s ridiculous poster dunk could be the dunk of the men’s NCAA tournament

With that absolutely ridiculous dunk, Drake’s Joseph Yesufu most definitely earned himself a spot in “One Shining Moment.”

We’re only two games into March Madness, but we might have just witnessed the dunk of the NCAA tournament.

Late in the first half of Thursday night’s “First Four” game between Drake and Wichita State, Drake’s Joseph Yesufu changed the momentum of the first half with a poster dunk over Wichita State’s Clarence Jackson, who quite literally never had a chance.

With Drake struggling to score in the first half, Yesufu’s dunk set off a 5-0 scoring run in the final two minutes that got the Bulldogs to within one point, where Wichita State led 21-20 at halftime.

Drake overcame a second-half deficit and held off a late rally to defeat Wichita State 53-52 and advance to the first round of the men’s NCAA tournament, where they’ll face No. 6 USC.

And with that absolutely ridiculous dunk, Yesufu most definitely earned himself a spot in “One Shining Moment” at tournament’s end.

And, as you can imagine, people are absolutely freaking out over Yesufu’s poster dunk.
