Colorado flips transfer wide receiver from conference rival

One of the best freshmen wide receivers in the country is coming to Boulder

After initially committing to Utah late last week, former Tulsa wide receiver Joseph Williams has now flipped his transfer pledge in favor of Colorado.

On3 reported Sunday that Williams has signed with head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs, giving Colorado one of the best young wide receivers in college football. This past season, Williams was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year after recording 588 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Williams, a former three-star prospect (per 247Sports) from Arlington, Texas, was committed to Utah for only four days before flipping to Colorado. According to Adam Munsterteiger of BuffStampede, fellow Big 12 programs Arizona and Arizona State had also expressed interest in the 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver.

Colorado has landed 10 transfer commitments since the portal opened earlier this month, with Williams being the lone wide receiver.
