LOOK: Taylor Heinicke’s new Jordans after beating Falcons

The pick is in — and they’re a bit surprising.

The Washington Commanders defeated the Atlanta Falcons Sunday to improve to 7-5. It was Washington’s sixth win in its last seven games, and the Commanders currently hold the NFC’s final playoff spot.

Five of Washington’s last six wins have come with Taylor Heinicke under center. And one of the more enjoyable aspects of Washington’s winning streak is which Jordan sneakers he will purchase after another win.

Heinicke said last week that if the Commanders beat the Falcons in Week 12, the running backs would receive Jordans this week. After Sunday’s win, Heinicke said running back Antonio Gibson was already in his ear about the new shoes.

So what will the new Jordans look like?

If you’re confused, I do understand. However, the Falcons added the gold to their throwbacks this season, giving Heinicke more options besides the red and black only.

Heinicke has undoubtedly thought about these shoes. A Georgia native, Heinicke is now 2-0 vs. the Falcons in his career.

This trend is popular with his teammates. Heinicke gave the tight ends shoes last week, and John Bates was sporting his in a postgame interview. Meanwhile, rookie Cole Turner took to Twitter to social media to approve of his new kicks.

The Commanders play the Giants next — two games in a row. Heinicke is 2-0 against the Giants as a starting quarterback, but this New York team is much different than the one from a year ago.

Taylor Heinicke buys his offensive line Air Jordans after win over the Eagles

Just not the same Jordans Heinicke ordered for himself. It was too expensive, he joked.

A good quarterback always takes care of his offensive line.

Over the years, we’ve heard of quarterbacks buying their offensive linemen expensive watches, suits, or even gaming consoles. Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke is doing things a little bit differently.

Heinicke, who revealed earlier this season that when the Commanders win a game with him under center, orders a pair of Air Jordans in the opposing team’s color scheme. After the win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 7, Heinicke ordered some green and yellow Jordans.

After this week’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles, Heinicke didn’t wait long to order his latest pair of Jordans.

Heinicke met with the media Wednesday and revealed he wasn’t the only to get new Jordans this week.

“Yeah, this might be a surprise,” Heinicke says of buying kicks for his offensive linemen. “I was trying to keep it a little surprise with O-Line, but they’ve been busting their [butt] all year, and I think they need to be compensated for that. So, I ordered some, some, some J’s for the starting off line this past week, and if they keep doing that they’ll be getting some more.”

It’s little things like this that make Heinicke beloved in the locker room. Remember, Heinicke isn’t making Patrick Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers money. Per Over the Cap, Heinicke’s cap number is $3.6 million this season, but he does receive a bonus for every Washington victory with him under center.

That’s not chump change at all, but a nice gesture considering Heinicke is still considered Washington’s backup quarterback.

So did Heinicke order his teammates the same green Jordans he ordered for himself this week?

“No, no, I can’t spend that much money, but I got ’em some cool ones that have the Eagles colors,” he joked.

Heinicke will start again in Week 11 at Houston. He is 3-1 as the starting quarterback this season.

Commanders QB Taylor Heinicke has picked his next pair of Jordans after beating Eagles

Taylor Heinicke has picked his new Jordans after beating the Eagles.

Earlier this season, Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke revealed a unique way he celebrates wins. Every time he starts a game, and Washington wins, Heinicke orders a pair of Jordan sneakers in the opposing team’s colors.

For instance, when Heinicke led the Commanders to a win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 7, he ordered a pair of green and gold Jordans.

Now, anytime Washington wins a game, the media and fans are curious about Heinicke’s next set of sneakers.

As it turns out, Heinicke didn’t wait too long to order his latest pair of Jordans after Washington’s upset win over the previously unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.

Heinicke’s new shoes this week will be the metallic green Air Jordan 4s.

Fans hope this recent streak of success continues and Heinicke continues to add new Jordans to his collection.

Next up is the Houston Texans.

When Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke leads the Commanders to a win, he has a unique way of celebrating. He orders Jordans in the team colors of the team Washington just beat.

Heinicke made his first start in 2022 against the Packers, completing 20 of 31 passes for 201 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. While the final numbers don’t blow you away, consider Heinicke began the game, completing only one of his seven passing attempts before settling down and leading his team to the win.

How does Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke celebrate a win?

Heinicke, in his first start of the 2022 season, led the Commanders to a 23-21 win over the Green Bay Packers Sunday. And, for the win, Heinicke earned a $125,000 bonus. Every time Heinicke plays at least 60% of Washington’s offensive snaps and the Commanders win, he receives the $125K bonus.

According to John Keim of ESPN, every time Heinicke and the Commanders win, he uses a portion of his bonus to buy a new pair of Jordans the next day. And they aren’t just any Jordans, as Heinicke buys a pair in the colors of the team Washington just beat.

After Sunday’s win, Heinicke spoke of his unique habit.

“Every time we get the win when I’m in the training room the next day, I always buy myself a pair of [Jordans],” Heinicke said per Keim.

“Tomorrow, I’ll probably buy myself green and yellow Js,” he said, referring to Green Bay’s colors.

Heinicke shared a pic of those potential Jordans.

Heinicke grew up a Green Bay fan along with his father, so Sunday’s win was a big one for him.

Heinicke and the Commanders face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.
