Jordan Chiles and Team USA win gold medal

Chiles gets the gold!

Jordan Chiles, UCLA Bruins gymnastic great, and her teammates earned a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Tuesday. Chiles and her teammates Simone Biles, Suni Less, Hezly Rivera and Jade Carey won the top spot over Italy by nearly 6 points.

The US Women finished with a 171.296.  The American team looked great throughout. Chiles had an error when she fell during her beam mount with a front pink salto.

Suni Lee took to the floor today, as Jade Carey struggled with illness, and put together a great routine, at 13.533 to help the USA score high. One of the other notable scores was Biles on the beam, earning a 14.366 overall.

Chiles got redemption when she did her floor routine, as many call it one of the most “stunning floor routines of her career”.

The gold gave the US their 22nd medal overall and 10th gold. There have been 52 gold medals awarded in the 2024 Olympics, and 329 will be given out before it’s all said and done.

Jordan Chiles just misses at Paris Olympics

Jordan Chiles just misses out…

Jordan Chiles performed a monster bar routine on Sunday but appears to just miss out on the chance to compete for a medal in the all-around.

Chiles finished just behind USA teammate Suni Lee by 0.067 points. That puts her in the top alternate spot.

The Olympic rule states only two from the same country can move on to compete for the medal, despite the overall scores. Chiles remains third behind Simone Biles and Lee.

Back in 2021, Russia had three top six finishers in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and had to leave one off.

Chiles will continue to participate with Team USA in the team qualifying.

Of course, Biles is the leader of the squad. She did hurt her lower left leg during warmups. She had to heavily tape her ankle, and she also had a misstep during her floor routine, but still remains one of the best in the world.

Jordan Chiles gets endorsed by Megan Thee Stallion

Big respect.

As if Jordan Chiles, former UCLA gymnast needed any more national recognition. Regardless, she got it, with the endorsement of popular musician Megan Thee Stallion.

In 2021, Chiles was part of the US Olympic team in Toyko that finished third. She was teammates with Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee.

Chiles received flowers and a very nice note, which was phrased to her as one of the “hot girls”. She has often said she is a big fan of Megan’s music and has many of her songs on her playlists during practices, and other times.

“Megan, Beyonce, GloRilla, every girl artist you can think of was popping up. I was like, ‘You know what? If these girls can slay like this, I can go out there and slay like them.”

After receiving the flowers, Chiles took to social media to thank her for the kind gesture.

This year the Olympics are in Paris, and set to begin Friday, July 26th, and run through Sunday, August 11th.

Jordan Chiles advances to 2024 Olympic Team

Repping UCLA in the Olympics.

Jordan Chiles, former UCLA gymnast has reached the 2024 Paris Olympics. She will return to the Olympics after her silver medal with the team back in 2021 in Russia.

Chiles, who is 23 years old lives in Los Angeles after coming to school from Vancouver Washington. She has been a key figure in the sport since a young age, making her debut at the 2013 American Classic, and winning a bronze medal in the all-around.

Simone Biles is the lead name for the women’s gymnastics team heading to Paris. The others who will join them are Suni Lee, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera.

It was a competitive weekend for the US Olympic trails in Minneapolis. Chiles’s dreams of returning to the Olympics were in a little trouble after she fell on the beam. She looked great on the floor tumbling and dancing to Beyonce.

Biles won the all-around standings by 2.5 points over Chiles. Lee came in third over the weekend.

Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Grace McCallum all scored perfect 10s within 24 hours

These young Olympians continue to push a standard of excellence.

While gymnasts are known for having impeccable balance, grace, and attention to detail with their routines that demand perfection, this weekend was one for the record books. It was an all-timer.

Three separate Tokyo Olympians and college gymnasts — Auburn’s Suni Lee, UCLA’s Jordan Chiles, and Utah’s Grace McCallum — all scored a perfect 10 within less than a day of each other. It was the first perfect 10 for each young athlete, if that wasn’t enough.

A perfect score, for the first time, for one person — which again, the word perfect means mistake-free — is excellent. But three times, for the first time for each person, in a matter of hours? That’s absolutely bananas—an unquestioned concurrence of success in athletic excellence. The Great Gymnastics Conjunction happened, and we were all witnesses.

First, to reach perfection were Chiles and McCallum, who were competing in the same meet against each other.

After capturing silver together in Tokyo a little under two years ago, the 20-year-old Chiles is considered one of the brighter names in gymnastics. She showed as much on Friday with a relatively new floor routine.

Please, note the emotion, the pure delight. That’s what it feels like to be one of the very best at what you do. That’s what feels like to be perfect for the first time. Make no mistake: Chiles is one of the best.

Of course, in a competitive meet, the fellow silver medalist McCallum had to answer, right? Competition not only brings out excellence in all of us, sometimes it manifests perfection. That was especially true for the 19-year-old McCallum.

What a moment. What a performance between two stars. Seriously, take a bow.

If Chiles and McCallum being perfect on the same evening wasn’t enough, another accomplished gymnast had the cherry to add on top the next day. Or, should we say the following afternoon.

With the 2020 all-around Tokyo gold medal to her name, Suni Lee has nothing to prove to anyone in terms of her prowess. But, for good measure, she is considered the best in the world on the bars. And that is something to brag about every chance you get.

Why not show it, show off, and do it in a meet, no less?

In recording her first 10 ever, Lee captured just the sixth perfect score in Auburn history and the first since 2004. An elite club for an elite gymnast, to be sure.

There’s pushing for perfection; then there’s actually obtaining it.

But why should anyone be surprised? Chiles, McCallum, and Lee are incredible gymnasts and premier world-class athletes at the respective tops of their game. Their individual, and combined, flawlessness was an inevitability.
