In-state 2025 wide receiver picks Stanford, spurns Notre Dame

The Irish miss on the in-state star

Proximity isn’t everything in recruiting and Notre Dame football felt that on Friday afternoon.

The Irish had offered in-state 2025 wide receiver [autotag]JonAnthony Hall[/autotag] earlier this month, but the timing of the offer didn’t allow the Irish to make up enough ground. Although he did make an official visit to South Bend, the uphill battle with Stanford was ultimately lost.

It would have been great to add the 6-foot, 1-inch and 170-pound Hall, but it’s not like Notre Dame isn’t contenders for other big-time receiver prospects. They are a finalist for Derek Meadows and Tanook Hines, while having commitments from Elijah Burress and Jerome Bettis Jr.

Due to Notre Dame’s national recruiting base, they often miss out on some of the best prospects in the state of Indiana. This cycle will be no different as they have just one commit, cornerback Mark Zackery IV, out of the top ten according to the 247Sports Indiana State Rankings.

Notre Dame in-state 2025 wide receiver target sets commitment date

The Irish will know soon if they are adding to their 2025 recruiting class

Notre Dame football made an offer to in-state 2025 wide receiver [autotag]JonAnthony Hall[/autotag] at the end of May.

That prompted an official visit a few weeks later and now the 6-foot, 1-inch and 170-pound pass catcher is ready to make his decision. The nation’s No. 307 overall prospect and 39th wide receiver according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings will announce his commitment on June 28th at noon.

The four schools Hall is considering are Indiana, Purdue, Stanford and the Irish. He’s made official visits to all of them, so he seemingly has all the information he needs to make a choice. There is one 247Sports Crystal Ball pick and its favors the Cardinals.

Notre Dame is still looking for one or two more receivers in its 2025 class, with Elijah Burress, and Jerome Bettis Jr. already committed.

Notre Dame football offers in-state 2025 4-star wide receiver

The Irish offer ahead of an official visit

In the 2025 recruiting cycle, Notre Dame football already has commitments from three wide receivers.

They’re still in the running for Derek Meadows, but in case he opts to go elsewhere, the Irish are making sure they aren’t hung out to dry. An offer went out to in-state receiver [autotag]JonAnthony Hall[/autotag] on Thursday, as the 6-foot, 1-inch and 170-pounder is set to begin some of his official visits.

A trip to South Bend will happen in less than two weeks on June 11th for the nations No. 306 overall prospect and 39th receiver according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Hall also has visits set up to Northwestern, Indiana, Purdue and Stanford.

It will be interesting how all of this plays out, but the Irish are in a good position to land another great wide receiver prospect.
