Burnette joins an already-loaded RB room at Auburn. He makes four hard commits for their recruiting class of 2024. They also have two four-star cornerbacks as well as Arkansas four-star quarterback Walker White. The group ranks No. 18 in the nation.

Tennessee football recruiting: Vols’ top 2024 running back targets

As the recruiting focus shifts to the class of 2024, Vols Wire breaks down the top 2024 running back targets for Tennessee.

National signing day signaled the end of the class of 2023 and now a focus shifts to the class of 2024 on the recruiting trail.

Tennessee currently has three 2024 commits, headlined by four-stars Jonathan Echols (athlete) and Kaleb Beasley (cornerback).

The Vols have the No. 13 overall class and No. 6 class in the Southeastern Conference, according to the On3 Sports consensus.

Tennessee landed two running backs in the 2022 recruiting class. Three-stars DeSean Bishop and Khalifa Keith both signed with Tennessee last season.

Four-star in-state running back for 2024 projected to Tigers

On3 gives him a 91.8% chance of coming to Auburn.

Auburn could see its backfield bolstered sooner than later.

A new projection from On3 has 2024 recruit J’Marion Burnette coming to the Plains. The site currently projects him with a 91.8% chance to come to Auburn. His next-highest school is Alabama, with a small 5.1%.

Burnette recently attended Junior Day at the university, which was likely a big influence in the projection. That visit is his most recent on the recruiting trail and he currently doesn’t seem to have any more scheduled, so the lack of action on that front could be another good omen for coach Hugh Freeze and his staff.

So far, Auburn has offered 11 running backs in the 2024 class. All of them are at least four-star talents, with IMG Academy’s Jerrick Gibson standing out as the lone five-star. At the moment. Burnette is the only prospect who feels “warm” toward Auburn in the eyes of 247Sports, so On3 doesn’t appear to be the only source convinced of his intentions.

Alabama lands in top 10 for 2024 RB J’Marion Burnette

2024 running back J’Marion “Phat” Burnette recently released his list of top schools.

Alabama’s coaching staff has already begun to recruit in-state prospects in both the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes. One of the prospects that they are pushing hard to land is Andalusia High School running back J’Marion Burnette. On Monday, he released his top 10 schools on Twitter with the Tide making the cut.

Burnette is one of two running backs that the Tide have offered from the state of Alabama. The other is Tuscaloosa County High School running back Kevin Riley.

In the past, the Tide have been able to land in-state running backs like Brian Robinson Jr. (Hillcrest High School) and TJ Yeldon (Daphne High School). At this time, Auburn is the favorite to land Burnette at 42.0% likelihood, according to On3’s RPM.

Auburn offer 2024 Alabama four-star running back

J’Marion Burnette has also received offers from SEC schools Alabama and Arkansas.

It may be far off, but the Tigers are continuing to recruit in-state for its 2024 class.

Auburn offered Alabama native J’Marion Burnette on Thursday, the fourth running back the Tigers have offered for the 2024 class. Burnette is very large for a running back, and his highlights put his massive size advantage and good speed on display. There is still time for Burnette to receive more Power 5 offers as 2024 gets close, but Auburn will hope to land the in-state recruit and get a powerhouse in the background.
