Fantasy football draft: Where to draft Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins

Analyzing Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins’ 2021 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins should be the lead back in one of the most electric running offenses in the NFL, boosting his fantasy expectations in the upcoming season. Below, we look at J.K. Dobbins‘ 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Coming out of Ohio State with the second-most career rushing yards in program history, Dobbins put on a show as a rookie in the NFL.

However, he split carries with RB Gus Edwards, RB Mark Ingram (now with the Houston Texans) and QB Lamar Jackson. With Edwards and Jackson back, Dobbins will have a limit ceiling this coming season.

Dobbins is being selected as the 19th running back off the board.

He’s the second Raven drafted behind former MVP Jackson. Dobbins has been taken as high as No. 10, likely in a keeper league, and as low as 74, likely in a two-quarterback PPR league.

Dobbins is a player which format could drastically change his value.

Where should you take Dobbins in your fantasy football draft?

Dobbins should be taken in the early fourth round in PPR leagues. In standard leagues, given that he’s not much of a pass catcher, it’s reasonable that he could go at the end of the third.

While Dobbins is only 22, he’s likely still not being considered as a keeper unless a league has three or more keepers. He should be retained on any dynasty team.

Dobbins had an elite 6.0 yards per carry. It was the third-best in the league and the best for running backs. Jackson and Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray ranked 1 and 2, respectively.

If Dobbins is unleashed as the main, three-down back, which is unexpected, he could be a steal in the fourth or fifth round. For now, in standard leagues, early fourth makes the most sense with him being an early fifth-round pick in PPR formats.
